Cannington Medical Centre

Usually I don’t Give reviews to anything but Cannington medical centre made me do this for the first time. I visited this clinic twice in two years, both the time I am disappointed with the GP service. Very insensitive, don’t even deserve a single star. Strongly I will not recommend to anyone.

Dr Myo Maung really listens to your concerns and always seems to have a solution and if he doesnt he referred us to specialists. Cant speak highly enough about the help he has given me and my husband over past two very difficult years

I had made an appointment and was seen within 20 minutes which was surprisingly quick as there were a lot of people.
I was unfortunate enough to have Dr Peng as my doctor and from the moment I told her what was wrong her responses were less than satisfactory. She spoke down to me as I’m a young patient and treated me like she knew more about my history than i do. Very rude and didn’t allow me to make decisions about my own body. For any young women struggling with health problems I don’t recommend her

Never going back here again. Just waited over an hour WITH an appointment and I'm not even sure the dr was there. Have never had a good experience at this practice. It it literally the worst practice I've ever been to.

The toilets are not hygiene.complain made but not taken notice.
The practice Manager should take responsible for the action.

The website shows bulk billing between Monday to Friday 7 am - 6 pm for Medicare holders, but they actually charged $80 for everyone. Website information not updated? Try to call them, waiting for more than 10 mins, no one answer the phone.

Really slow service. Been to this practice multiple times with an appointment and have had to wait over 40 minutes each time. The doctors there give the absolute worst advice ever. One doctor told my partner with anxiety to just stop thinking about it whenever she feels anxious and just make it go away.wow.cured

Dr Mahinda Yogam is a terrible doctor. He's rude and has no empathy whatsoever. Told him some symptoms I was having, because, ya know, he's a doctor, just for him to snarkily reply, "and what do you want me to do about that"

Dr Elise Tan is the best dentist I have ever seen. Dr Tan was in Armadale but is now a practicing super hero in Cannington Dental Centre! Thank you for all your help so far Dr Tan.have a great Christmas and see you in 2022)

What is the point of making an appointment if you have to wait for over an hour. Very unprofessional.

Today this happened I had pre-book an appointment for doctor Sara avilies I was sitting outside her door waiting for my name to be called patiently waiting whilst she was looking after her own cultural making sure that her Asian patients were seen first. Well excuse me doctor Sara avilies if you want to look after Asians go to your own country and look after them there. When I finally got in to see her 30 minutes later she told me that she called my name treating me like I was stupid and deaf. How discusting to have patients seen first ahead off my appointment because they are the same race. Discusting am never going back.

I have been to Cannington Medical Centre and just randomly meet any doctor (so long they signed the prescription for me). I reckon all the doctor here are really professional but special acknowledgement to Dr. Lwin. He is down to earth and patience with me and my mum. Most importantly he always encourage us.

The place needs an upgrade because even the chairs have become shabby. There's always a long wait to see my doctor even though I always make an appointment. I had to go to use the female toilets and they were in an appalling state. It's very unfair that patients are being billed privately if they see a doctor after 4.30 pm on weekdays and on weekends. How are people doing jobs going to see a doctor without taking time off? Very disappointing. I have been with this practice for a very long time but am going to find another one very soon.

Doctors are more experienced compared to other clinics which are bulk billed.

When they used to be "only walk ins", and no appointments, I used to wait anywhere between 15 mins to 3 hours. My average waiting time has been about 1.5 hours, which is also the reason why I stopped going here. I'd prefer to go to another clinic where I don't have to hang around other sick people, usually with my family, for 1.5 hours.

For walkins, I would go to this place only if I'm desperate, or want to use other services from them (X-ray, scanning, etc.).

Toilets are probably only cleaned once in a day. For a medical clinic, that's bad practice.

Wish it had free WiFi facility, so I could at least keep my kid entertained while waiting all that time.

If you are absent when they call your name, you're risking going to the back of the waiting list.

The reception staff are busy as bees. They are only trained to get the job done, not to excel in providing good customer experience. So, expect to be offended.

Lately, they started accepting appointments. However appointments only allow you to select specific doctors and not the first available. So, you're still at the mercy of the doctor becoming free. On my first appointment, I ended up waiting for 55 minutes. Guys, seriously? The booking system is pathetic. I had to drop a star further for this.

Bottomline - experienced doctors, nice facilities, nice location, plenty car park but. Err… bad customer service, long wait times, bad toilet hygiene.

Would only recommend if you need a serious consultation. If all you need is a Medical Cert, possibly avoid this clinic.

Hi Everyone. Alert - Careful with this medical center and pathology specially.
I would like to share my experience in this medical center. 10 days ago me and my wife went to get blood test (iron and other vitamins) for my wife. First we met a doctor who is so arrogant (Jin Xin Peng). She doesn't hear your problem fully and gave for some tests to do at pathology. My wife went to give blood for test, the supervisor told her to sit for 20 min outside lobby while he was watching Duck cooking video. After 20 min he called her to Lab. Even while taking blood he is watching duck cooking video. So unprofessional behavior. He took 2 tubes of blood and told that report will be sent to doctor within 2 days. After a week, we took an appointment again to see the doctor for blood test reports but she didn't receive the reports yet. Then she had call to Lab to inquiry about it and the response was they missed doing half of the tests which was requested by doc. And the doctor without taking any further action, suggesting us to do test again. Are they thinking blood can come from shower. This is insane! We denied to do test again. She was showing her arrogance again and telling that you don't need any reports, if u go to sun you will get the vitamin D and improve iron level by eating food. Such a rude behavior. Hearing this my wife started crying in medical center. I felt so bad. She was disturbed mentally for a week. Such an inhumanity!

I had my ultrasound done today 19/10/21. Took 1.5hrs. Service was terrible, the nurse didnt know how to look at the image. Wouldnt share screen with me or my husband. Was quiet the whole time so wasnt sure if there was a problem. When asked questions there was no answer.

After asking again, was given a rude reply. After having to go in a second time to redo the pics, wasnt told to as why or what the problem was. Couldnt even say sorry. Won't go back there again.

Doc was good. Explained everything. Auto book-in worked well.
Only problem was the doc was an hour late, but that might be because he cares about his patients and spends a bit more time with them. Being a pensioner and not in a rush, I forgive him.

Negative starts if possible, very unprofessional. Had appointment to remove my stitches and appointment booked number of days back. I had call 30mins before appointment that doctor is not available while I was driving on medical center. Then I told them to book another appointment with same doctor.and they told me he's not available for 1 week. Then I said stitches need to come out as far as I know before that. Reception told me yes, they will organise appointment following day and it was never book by them or sorted in any manner.

Highly recommend the doctors, especially Dr Lwin, Dr Balint, Dr Mathazia…the list goes on actually. Each doctor taking interest in different areas! Dr Bowater hands down best for ear syringing and Dr Jinadu can always get my little baby to smile, even right after her needles!

The nurses here are so underrated and work very hard with the high flow of patients! And reception always working hard out the front. Always attending to patients or answering a phone.

When I questioned the phones having to wait on hold, they did explain that their phone lines had just been upgraded and there were 2 people out the back answering phone. Good that they’re willing to share this sort of info with patients.

Can tell it’s a very busy medical centre and everyone tries to work as hard as possible to accomodate everyone. Thank you for looking after my family.

A very professional experience all round. Everything went like clockwork. Open on Sundays is a great advantage too for shift workers.
