Is it possible for the receptionist to speak to people like a decent human being? What part of the job requires her to be so rude and dismissive? I had to book a booster shot and have my GP sign a form for a job and the receptionist just kept talking over me saying they are only doing telehealth consultations. This was after being on hold for 45 minutes.

Worst service ever. You don't have to be professional because maybe you weren't trained right but the rudeness is just uncalled for. It's a real shame too because the doctors and pathology collectors are lovely once you get past the unpleasant receptionist.

I experienced excellent service this afternoon from Dr Ali and nurse Deb. Stitches to my lip after a fall, they provided efficient and respectful care. Thank you.

Impossible to contact. Waited 30 minutes on the phone just for them to hang up. Was repeatedly told by a voice prompt to “download the EasyVisit app or book via the website” but they aren’t even on the website to place a booking. So not only can you not call them to book, you also can’t do it online.

The rudest and worst reception staff anywhere in the entire world. The doctors are great but reception all need to be fired

Being a former medical receptionist for many years I am disgusted by the rude manners of the receptionist today that I called at 4 18pm. I asked if my partners results were back and she said she has no access to that. Yes you do I know how results work receptionist can see everything and I wasn't
even asking for results as I know it is illegal for a receptionist to give results over the phone or in person but I just asked if they were back so we could book an appointment with his gp. She was full of attitude unhelpful and rude. When I was a receptionist I made sure I did my best to help patients and if not I would say I am sorry even if it's not my fault and have sympathy and understanding. This was the first time calling also. We will be leaving this medical centre.

Hot tip. Go hand over your Medicare card then leave.

Go do something else. Anything else.

Go shopping. Have lunch. Go on holiday. Learn a new skill. Earn a degree. Make your first million.

Whatever it is you do, it will take LESS time than waiting for the doctors here. I'm sure the front counter are doing their best but holy hell, understaffed is a underSTATEMENT.

Update: Even calling them is bad. Was on hold for 23 mins until I gave up.

Going there will only give you a stroke of madness from the poor receptionists there instead of curing your sickness. The doctors are brilliant and fantastic in every possible way, but the receptionists are just HORRIBLE. They are impatient, selfish creatures.
E.g. The head nurse of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Professor Umbridge from Harry Potter.
I have met to meet a nice receptionist. I guess all the ones who were nice all got sick of the place and left. The two people there were literally tearing each other apart once when I was waiting for an appointment.

I think there need to be another Wollongong Medical Centre so people can have a choice. These guys a now hold monopoly and hence treat people like numbers x rate = dollars.

Haven't been for a while now and people are right where the receptions are rude and socialising amongst themselves neglecting people requiring medical assistants.

Having said that the doctors they have there are good.

Impossible to get an appointment. It's not worth the wait or the anxiety of trying to get an appointment.

This is not a Medical Centre anymore, it’s a Surgery. It use to be good and a walk in Medical Centre but it’s only a walk in centre on weekends now, during the week it’s appointment’s only. I rang to make an appointment with a Dr only to be told I couldn’t and had to ring the receptionist’s the next day because of a private reason? I don’t know what that is but I don’t appreciate being rejected from a Dr for no reason. It’s my choice who I go to, not the Dr’s. I don’t appreciate being told who I can go to and being refused service for no reason. I have been going to this ‘Surgery’ for a long time and they have ruined this place now.

Possibly the worst medical centre in NSW. The reception staff there will have chit chats with each other for up to 5 - 10 minutes and there is a line of people waiting all the way outside the door. When you actually get to the front of the line they are so disinterested in providing any kind of service. It's like the patients / customers are a distraction. I'm just glad we will be moving out of this area soon and we will not have to deal with these rude and obnoxious people any longer.

Went to call to make a phone appointment and I was told it would cost $75.never have I ever heard that. It says bulk billed on the website. Who ever the receptionist is needs to be held accountable. My mother was also told to leave at 11am on a Friday saying it was fully booked out, when she thought she could go in and wait for next doctor. I haven’t got the wrong medical practise.

We drove all the way from Batemans Bay after being assured that we would be bulk billed for our consultation and blood test via Bupa, only to be told we must pay $780 for blood test and $70 for consultation. When we queried this cost we were told that this had been explained to us, but this was definitely not the case. There is no way we would have driven all that way. The communication with the patients needs to be improved and they need to ensure patients understand the full cost. If they make a mistake they should not blame the patient.

Their website clearly states that no appointments are necessary, however upon arrival I was turned away as I didn't have an appointment. The website also states appointments can be made via their mobile app, but the app does not have the Wollongong practice in the list of surgeries that use the app. Looking at other comments, these issues seem to be ongoing. Surely, somebody can show some leadership and correct these issues?

I attended this medical centre and waited in line for about 20 minutes outside the door only to then be told once I got inside that they are only accepting appointments for "emergencies" and to go elsewhere. I feel like this should have been communicated better such as on their website or on a sign on the front door to save me wasting my time.

The practice and doctors are good, I don't expect lengthy consultations on bulk billing. The big problem - their website is out of date giving misleading information. It says it's a walk-in practice but this is only true on weekends, during the week you need to book in appointment, which contrary to the info there, can only be done by phone after hearing a bunch of covid-related messages. I couldn't see any way of booking through the website, and the app for mobile phones doesn't even find this practice!
Otherwise, waiting time for booked appointment is reasonable, while for walk-ins I just register and come back after an hour or so, and then usually don't wait long. I appreciate the walk-in option when I need to see someone asap for a current issue.

Waited 2.5 hours to be told I had been assigned to a doctor who was on a lunch break. Sat and watched every other patient come and go. Seriously, avoid this place unless you are willing to wait all day.

Very bad experience.the staff and Dr. Didn't care about patients. The only thing they are concerned about is money.
