Dr. Shannon has extremely poor bed side manner and shows little compassion. Very arrogant man who emits an unpleasant demeanor. I would not reccomend his service unless you wish to feel like you're wasting his time. Do yourself a favour and find an alternative skin specialist.

After a decade of acne, endless consultations and thousands of dollars spent on ineffective treatments, I finally found a solution with Dr Shannon. My acne has cleared completely and I can finally feel comfortable in my own skin. He was very professional, supportive & thorough through the process and always took the time to discuss my concerns during my treatment. Highly recommend!

Upon my first review of medication with Dr Shannon i advised a possibly side effect that was dismissed. My GP confirmed the side effect is related to the medication 2 days later. I contacted Dr Shannon for a review only days after i had physically seen him. He wanted another full consultation fee. I sent an email asking since i had just seen him a few days ago could we not do a phone consult and not have to pay another $170 so soon. He advised i should seek a second opinion.
Dr Shannon disregarded my side effect the first time and wanted me to pay again for an alternative days later. This is a clear indication of money over patient care.
Both appointments were over half an hour wait time past the appointment time to only be in the consultation room for 5 mins.
The 1 star is for the lovely reception staff.

Drug dealer or Dr, I haven't worked it out yet. Prescribed a drug with severe side effects, I mentioned my concerns when every time I saw Mr Shannon he looked at me and doubled the dose without even having a conversation. When I questioned the side effects, with no explanation Mr Shannon advised me I would be better off seeing someone else, as he could not help me.
I call him Mr and not Dr as I don't feel he deserves that title. Don't waste your time or money see a real Dr the first time.

Update: Mr Shannon's response to my review makes my point as I am not seeing a nautopath.
I was just asking questions based on research I did myself on my condition.
Mr Shannon please take time to talk to your clients and know about their condition before handing out medication.

Dr Shannon treated my pre teen daughter for severe acne for around 8 months, he was always very professional during appointments and it was very obvious he cared a lot about what my daughter needed.
With Dr Shannons help my daughter will be heading off to high school with clear skin in 2020!
Thank you!

I have struggled with adult acne for nearly 15 years and after my consultation with Dr Shannon, was prescribed medication which I was very hesitant about. I am so glad I trusted his diagnosis and took his advice. 3 months later and I'm 99% acne free. I am just so happy with the results.
Can highly recommend him.

Do NOT see Jack Shannon.
He does not find the root cause of acne (even though he said he does), instead he simply gives bandaid treatments. One of these treatments includes medication which has a lot of serious side effects, and even my GP told me not to use. So when I went back and said I did not want to take it or use some of the other toxic treatments he prescribed, he told me my thoughts were “wacky” and did not listen to what I had to say at all, obviously he does not take any patient suggestions. He was then very condescending, disrespectful, rude, and arrogant. He wouldn’t give me the time of day, and told me not to come back, and if I ever wanted to see a dermatologist about my acne to go and see another one.
He also took photos without consent.
Waste of money, do not recommend to anyone!
If you’re looking for a dermatologist, please find someone else who will listen to your thoughts and work with you to find a proper root cause and treatment instead

No hesitation in not recommending Dr Shannon for all the reasons stated by others who have been treated poorly by this man.

I took my 14 year old daughter with Severe Dermatitis to see Dr Shannon. He had a compassionate approach. His professional expertise treated my daughter in a week. Miracles do happen! I highly recommend Dr Shannon.

I was not a patient of Dr Shannon but did work and converse with him for employment. I have never written a review about doctors' nature or character but I feel this need to be said. Dr Shannon told me that I was successful employed after clinic learning and 4 hours of watching his procedures. We talked about pay rates, my availabilities and bookkeeping. I was over the moon and so grateful towards this.
However, 15 minutes after this conversation, he said I was unsuccessful with minimal explanation with no follow-up message or email. This conversation only lasted a few minutes. With the above circumstance, I regard that to be unfair, upsetting and misleading. I believe that Dr Shannon has minimal compassion and is very blunt.

Had a treatment for severe acne completed by Dr Shannon, who was awesome throughout the process. He was very thorough, I was very pleased with the results, and the staff at the clinic were all lovely to deal with. Will definitely be referring in future

No hesitation to recommend Dr Shannon. Has been our family's dermatologist for over 10 years. We never feel rushed, he is knowledgeable and friendly. And he follows up with written instructions in case you missed something during the appointment!

I took my elderly mother here for a skin rash and after telling us he didn’t have a clue what it was or how to cure it we were given the standard cortisone cream and tablets that our GP could’ve prescribed and told to come back for check up in 6 weeks. I asked him if he could give her something to relive it and he walked out and said loudly to a nurse to rub some cream in this OLD LADY! Obviously he would prefer to be doing Botox all day but in gwynville there wouldn’t be much call for that. We had the check up today and I told him the rash has come back and HE asked ME “what do you think it is? ” I told him that he was the specialist and that’s why we’re here! He said he didn’t have a clue what it was and it could be due to old age.
What a waste of time going to this doctor. No personality, very rude and dismissive.

I have been a long term sufferer of a severe skin condition.
After seeing multiple Dermatologists over the years I finally found Dr Jack Shannon almost 10 years ago now.
Jack was the first skin specialist that was able to get my condition under control and give me back a normal life. I attend his clinic weekly for injections and cannot recommend him highly enough.
His concern for his patients is very apparent. I even received a phone call one Christmas Eve as he was concerned about my health due to the very strong medications I was on at the time.
I have recommended many people with the same condition to go and see Jack as I did.
I hope you never need a Dermatologist but if you do this is the one to visit.

Highly recommend Dr Jack Shannon. He would be one of the most positive, caring and helpful specialist practitioners I have seen.

I am so grateful to Dr Jack Shannon for accurately diagnosing and effectively treating a skin condition that had troubled me for six months. He resolved the problem in one consultation and gave me a written plan to follow. His manner is friendly and professional and I liked his quirky personality. I highly recommend this practice, its efficiency, accessibility and high standards of quality care. The staff take the time to understand your concerns and are fantastic.

As someone who has struggled with severe acne all through high school, I couldn’t recommend Dr Shannon more. He has helped me through my acne journey SO much and understands my frustration with it. He is extremely professional and friendly and I will definitely be going back to him after my acne treatments for any other skin concerns. Do yourself a favour and book with this amazing Dr!

Horrible experience with this incredibly rude and arrogant man.
My advice is to avoid him. I am sure there are many much more competent dermatologists in the area who treat their patients with respect and empathy.
He refused to treat me (as appears to be the case with many of his referrals) perhaps he does not have the required expertise and knowledge to do so.

Went to Dr Jack Shannon a few years ago, and had a relatively good experience. He diagnosed me with my hairloss condition through a biopsy that was done quickly and healed well, and didn't push any medication on me that I didn't want to take.
The negatives were the social aspect - after mentioning I was shaving my head for charity Jack simply said "You know the Nazis used to shave French women's heads when they captured them". Very odd moments that tainted an otherwise good experience.
