Access Canberra Service Centre reviews
71 First visit and very impressed! First, though, if you arrive on the bus (or by certain other routes) you may struggle to find the entrance. It's a level down from the library and you can use the ramp or the stairs to get there.
I made an appointment, so there was basically no wait. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, gave me the papers I needed to fill in, and we could email documents to the email address they have set up. The specific attendant who helped us was very friendly, casual, and helpful; we didn't feel rushed or like she was just going through the motions. It's also a very nicely appointed office with a lovely waiting area and comfortable yet compact desks arranged through the middle where you actually get helped.
It actually felt like I had access to Canberra! Kudos to whoever designed this space and the flow of people; it works.
Access Canberra's processes aren't the best but the staff at the reception desk are really helpful and sometimes do an initial triage to avoid waiting for no reason.
After waiting in line for 3 hours lady kicked me out before she had a good look at my papers for my L license. Told me to get the my certificate which I was holding in my hand. She was also kinda impolite abt it.
Went to the gungahlin one a few weeks later with the exact same things and got my license done in 40 minutes.
Though lot of negetive review, but every time I went there staff were really friendly and helpful. All rego related issue resolved is no time. Customer service representatives helped me with all my inquiries without any hesitation and answered my every unnecessary questions.
Very unprofessional and rude staffs at the front desk. Poor customer service. Regretted my decision going to that place. Something to do with racism as well.
Wasn't in there long, maybe twenty minutes for a license renewal. No hassles, staff were lovely.
Second visit the staff were lovely, quite quick and helpful. Nice service again.
Staff were very helpful, parking and accessibility is hard with how far the entrance is from the street. This service centre is better than others in Canberra.
In other words however, Access Canberra needs an overhaul with more pushed to online transactions like NSW. To have to go in for nearly every single transaction (other than license renewals and rego renewals) is a pain when the fee to do those transactions is higher than the states with instant online!
Hope we see some changes in the next year
Had to use the services at Access Canberra today, such a lovely set up. I went in first thing and got seen straight away (pays to be early). The lady was so friendly, did not at all make me go fill out forms and come back, she helped me through it all. Friendly staff, great service, that is a transport service.
Smooth process for a WWVP.wait time at 12 on a weekday was about 25 minutes. Staff were friendly and working hard. Only wish the open hours were a tiny bit longer or they opened on weekends.
Employee didn't know the full rules to exchanging my license so I was sent back home but the website literally says I can exchange it. I got the new license in another location Access Canberra. Much better.
People need to be trained again.
Streamlined service to get a WWVP card sorted out. Very professional and courteous customer service staff. Easy to park adjacent to the service centre in Belconnen.
Fast and friendly staff with short wait time, very efficient and fast service. Great to have an ACT Government service like this:)
I love the service provided by the team member named Nomika. She is the just the best and nice and helpful person i saw in there. Moreover your access canberra is better than Gungahlin Access canberra.
They say they accept bank statements with spending in the ACT as proof of address, which we provided, though were refused because they saw spending from the Harman naval base in Jarrabombra. They assumed Jarrabombra was in NSW which would have brought The overall transactions in the ACT to less than 80%. The funny thing is the naval base is still part of the ACT. They just assumed that it was NSW. The other funny thing is that the 80% rule is nowhere on their site. That's two mistakes on their part, but there is more! Once all of this was pointed out, they came up with another rule that isn't specified on their site. Apparently, there weren't enough transactions so they made a "judgement call". It was a combination of lack of clarity, arbitrary rules, and bad judgement that wasted my time and theirs. I would love access Canberra to be clear about what they need and spell it out on the site. Otherwise, I feel like I'm at the mercy of someone who could be exercising their judgement and inadvertently discriminating against people based on their backgrounds.
I felt sorry for myself when I was treated like a suspect by the admin staff, J. I showed all my prepared materials to her but just got close scrutiny again and again. She wouldn’t give me the ticket unless I pass her scrutiny. Finally I got the ticket from another admin staff, and then had another round check for the materials by the desk staff. It was ridiculous to have customers being checked twice (admin & desk staff) for the same thing! Not sure if it happened to everyone or just me because of my color (if yes which was unacceptable as she is black).
But thanks to the officers who helped me dealing with my driver license.
Different staff say different documents are accepted/ not allowed to be used. Staff are friendly enough but don’t actually help you
Inexperienced Staff who are not using their commonsense at all, You are so lucky If you get done your work in first visit, Worst service compare to all national Transport Offices in Australia
The shopfront has moved to the other side of the block nearly opposite Westfield now.
I went there at about 11am and it was very quick service. You still collect a ticket and wait to be called but now there are individual cubicles with desks with someone to help you. A much better setup than before. Security at the front only allow a certain amount of people in at a time and cleaning staff wiping down all the time.
Went there this afternoon. Told to check in outside and receive a ticket number. Got the number but the security guys just called out who was next without using the number syste. Absolutely hopeless. When I did get in they couldn't help me.
The wait times are a joke and it's been that way ever since it opened. Waiting an hour is not an acceptable time frame. Employ more staff and fix it.
