Xanadu Winery

Came here for a wine tasting and lunch with friends. The tasting was busy but the staff were attentive and attended to our tight schedule whilst allowing us to experience all the wines.

The lunch was excellent foods but the restaurant struggled to cater to two coeliac people being part of the group. The staff went out of their way to find alternatives (which was appreciated) but the restaurant could do with a more accommodating menu.

An excellent choice for a winery lunch however the wait for food can be lengthy. Our starters were served quickly but we were left waiting about an hour for our mains. Granted, we were a table of ten on a long weekend, but seeing as there's a minimum two course restriction, a half empty restaurant and we had booked, the kitchen should have anticipated this.

Other than the wait, the food and venue was lovely. The tasting platter (similar to a ploughman's lunch) was top notch - silky pate, warm buttery brioche and succulent pork belly pieces.

It's a kid friendly venue with lots of open space to run around and a decent undercover playground. There's also a kids menu available.

Service was very friendly, upbeat though a little forgetful on things like a high chair.

We found our best wine here, value to quality wise. Lovely winery with huge wine tasting area and a beautiful lawn and restaurant. Beautiful. The entire estate is full of rosemary bushes. Lovely.

Cellar door and restaurant area was beautiful and felt cosy at the same time. Really enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting, as our server was really friendly and helpful. Grab a few bottles of the 2016 Xanadu cab sauv if you can, it’s a really good bottle for the price!

Nice place for lunch (below $42 per main dish) if you’re willing to splurge a little. Desserts are a little pricey, about $16 for each dessert.

3 course was $65 which I thought was value for $$ but as they needed the whole table to participate we didn’t go for it as we were a group of 9 adults visiting.

Loved the bread with spices and olive oil. Chicken was a 3 star, but the fish (Baramundi) was good.

The worst customer service I have ever seen! The staff asked if we were there for a lunch or only taste, after answered that we were looking for the taste, she ignored us.so we decided spending our money in a better place! What a shame.

The restaurant crew is very friendly, but the cellar ladies are not.

They judge people by their cover, if you wanna have a great service you better dress smart. I’ll never come back, nor buy their products or recommend to anyone.

I knew they had great wine before we stopped for lunch, but arguably the restaurant is as good as the cab sauv!

Great experience. Kate in the tasting area was full of knowledge and knew a lot about the region. Fantastic selection of wines. The meals & the service in the restaurant was exceptional.

We were very impressed with the wines, especially their Chardonnays and Cab Savs! They were some of the best that we had on this trip. To really experience M River, these two varietals are a must try! Kate was very natural and lovely. She gave us a really enjoyable tasting! They also gave us some great recommendations for other wineries to try. I always appreciate this.

Always a great experience here. The food in the restaurant is consistently very good, excellent service and nice wines. A must visit for us every time we're in the area.

Great wines. Lightning visit to just buy a couple of bottles of quality wines. Staff was helpful and shared her preference. Beautiful estate.

The Belly lamb and fish just melted in my mouth. That was really yummy! The wine was lovely as well. And very friendly staffs.

Basically no service for me, keep talking to other customers, not sure if it’s because I’m not a local or what, luckily get good service at other. The wine is just average. Very bad experience. Maybe one suggestion to the owner: Hire better stuff at the cellar door please!
