Xanadu Winery reviews
76Flawless meal and delicious wine with great service. Visiting from London so went for a nice meal with mine and my partner's parents. We had the two course menu and everyone loved their dishes. Very friendly and attentive service.
Couldn't ask for better service, food and wine. Thankyou for a wonderful 6 course sampling lunch. We really enjoyed it.
Had a birthday lunch there on 2 Jan and it was excellent. The food was amazing and the staff were amazing. Lovely surroundings, great food, great wine. What more could you ask. Worth a visit.
I wish I could review the food - and once we visit again I will - but as there was a power outage for our whole booking this review is all about the staff.and they’re 5 star!
We were first looked after by the lovely Heather at cellar door, and midway through our tasting the entire region lost power. Not to worry, we were still able to buy wines using the mobile eftpos, then we wandered over to the restaurant to check out the plan. Word was that the power might be back on by 3pm, so we decided to hang around in case it came back earlier. The staff were straight onto their personal phones, calling all the bookings to pass on the disappointing news. Team effort!
We were served a glass of bubbles and some amazing bread and olives while we waited, listened to some great tunes from dj Luke and had a good chat to the lovely Maître D, Kristie. Despite not being able to try the anniversary meal we had booked, we had a great experience anyway and are looking forward to going back.
Top work under pressure guys and see you again soon.

This is a great winery for a long lunch. The service and food are outstanding. We didn’t get a chance to do a tasting prior to lunch but that would be a good addition to the afternoon. Make sure your prebook to avoid disappointment.
Easygoing, friendly wine tasting and cellar door. Games on the lawn and a comfortable cloister area with lawn.
Had a lovely wine tasting experience yesterday. The staff took time and care, despite getting quite busy. We enjoyed the 3 course menu. The food was delicious, delightfully presented and delivered in a timely manner. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.
Massive thanks to Sam and the team at Xanadu Wines for the amazing experience we had at Xanadu Wines! Great quality wines topped with amazing customer service! Thanks for making our day last week Sam! You're a legend!
With a subtle entrance way, Xanadu Winery needs no fanfare, they just produce great wines year after year. Though if you have time, check out their restaurant as well, a delectable treat.
Last Saturday our group of friends visited Xanadu wines to celebrate, there was 9 of us. Our table was booked for 1.00pm, our lunch order was taken from the set menu, 3 of the party ordered starter, which were delivered in timely order. That’s when the problems started, we waited until after 3.00pm for the main meals to be delivered, 3 of which were delivered to the table cold, two were fish and the other was risotto, we asked for these to be taken back to the kitchen to be heated up. The reply from the kitchen was that in the opinion of the chef these meals were sufficiently warm. It was suggested that fresh meals be made but no action would be taken on the supplied meals to reheat. Whilst the member of staff relaying the message from the kitchen was polite it was made clear that no other action would be taken. The deserts were supplied reasonably quickly after mains but no apologies were offered upon payment of our bill and certainly no discount was offered for the cold meals.
Left a bad feeling regarding the attitude of the staff at the restaurant in Xanadu, won’ t be making an effort to return next time visiting the South West
The seven course seasonal degustation was amazing. Each course had been put together with care and the flavors worked amazingly. We could not fault any of them. Our favorites were the mushroom tart, poached prawn and the carrot cake. The wines are just as good, we walked away with three bottles of rose.
Their food is beyond as well as wine tasting. We’ve got some good wine back home. One of my favourite wineries in Margaret River, Western Australia.
We were served by Liam, who was absolutely lovely and answered all of our complete novice questions without judgement, was incredibly entertaining, and guided us towards a beautiful, sweet Shiraz that we will use to toast to Xanadu and to Liam who we will keep in our hearts xx
My husband & I chose Zanadu Winery/ Restaurant to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary for a quiet lunch. (30th July 2021)
Where do I start! After the tantalising tasting of Zanadu's DJL, Exmoor Shiraz's & Semillon; we decided to purchase 6 bottles & proceeded into the lovely, but unpretentious restaurant for lunch.
We were greeted by a happy gentleman who took us to our booked table alongside the warm & amazing fireplace.
The 2 course set menu was absolutely delicious!
My husband had quail as his entree & I enjoyed the cuttlefish, both of which were cooked to perfection.
And without waffling too much more; our beef rib & snapper respectively were sumptious. Our compliments to the chef!
Last but not least; the service we received was first class. You made us feel very special! Thank you.

Walked in to an almost empty restaurant at 1: 00pm on a Saturday, we asked if they had a table for two. Was told they didn’t do walk-ins and that they couldn’t seat us. We were then told to go next door for a wine tasting. We immediately left.
We had the pleasure of having lunch at the Xanadu restaurant.
The service was friendly and efficient.
We were blown away with the tasty well balanced menu.
The food is excellent and with the combination of ingredients all very innovative.
Every one of our group were pleased with their meals we had the three course menu.
Well done Mel the chef, definitely will be back again.
I have been to many great wineries and this one is definitely in the Top 5!
Amazing food, great selection of wine tasting available, romantic atmosphere. Could not ask for more. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

What can I say?
The six courses meals; omg the taste of the Fremantle sardine with pear, dill and kohlrabi remoulade was beyond this world. Even the char grilled courgette with broccoli, fetta, pistachio and mint was amazing. Each the dish bought out was a party for our taste buds.
The best part was how thoughtful the staff was, they bought the food for the kids first.
Overall we loved the food and the staff and thank you for a great birthday to my dad.
Please do yourself a favor and visit Xanadu winery restaurant in Margaret River. The service is unmatched. Menu is small and seasonal to a particularly high standard. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Margaret River. Highly recommend!
