I travel solo and really wanted the cheeseboard at the cellar door (something smallish, not a big 3/5 course set menu lunch). I was told it was for 2 people to share and they cannot put a cheeseboard together for one person. I need to buy the share board and then just not eat it all! Absolutely no attempt to help me as a single person. I thought a place of this calibre will be more accommodating, so it was a very disappointing experience.

Walked in on Easter Sunday. Talked to the manager of the Restaurant who has been extremely rude and obviously wasn’t willing to accomodate us. I get this is a busy weekend but I have never seen in my life someone so Unfriendly in hospitality…. We were willing to spend more then $500 for a lunch….
Will never go back

Last Saturday our group of friends visited Xanadu wines to celebrate, there was 9 of us. Our table was booked for 1.00pm, our lunch order was taken from the set menu, 3 of the party ordered starter, which were delivered in timely order. That’s when the problems started, we waited until after 3.00pm for the main meals to be delivered, 3 of which were delivered to the table cold, two were fish and the other was risotto, we asked for these to be taken back to the kitchen to be heated up. The reply from the kitchen was that in the opinion of the chef these meals were sufficiently warm. It was suggested that fresh meals be made but no action would be taken on the supplied meals to reheat. Whilst the member of staff relaying the message from the kitchen was polite it was made clear that no other action would be taken. The deserts were supplied reasonably quickly after mains but no apologies were offered upon payment of our bill and certainly no discount was offered for the cold meals.
Left a bad feeling regarding the attitude of the staff at the restaurant in Xanadu, won’ t be making an effort to return next time visiting the South West

Walked in to an almost empty restaurant at 1: 00pm on a Saturday, we asked if they had a table for two. Was told they didn’t do walk-ins and that they couldn’t seat us. We were then told to go next door for a wine tasting. We immediately left.

We came here expecting great food as it won a 2019 Chef Hat award. The food and service didn’t live up to our expectation. We arrived for our reservation at 1: 15, selecting the two course menu. The sparsely filled restaurant had two people serving, who took half an hour to take our order. Our mains were served at 3pm. To take almost 2 hours for a main to arrive is unacceptable. We waited patiently but it was only when we flagged one of the waitresses an hour and a half in did she apologise for the wait. When the mains eventually came out we found them under seasoned and asked for salt and pepper. The waitress gave us two pepper shakers. We ended up getting up and getting the salt ourselves. The food was underwhelming, unbalanced and overpriced for what was presented. The waitress serving us did provide a discount on our final bill which was appreciated. Upon leaving we chatted to other people who had a similar dining experience and were also left waiting long periods between courses.

The worst customer service I have ever seen! The staff asked if we were there for a lunch or only taste, after answered that we were looking for the taste, she ignored us.so we decided spending our money in a better place! What a shame.

The restaurant crew is very friendly, but the cellar ladies are not.

They judge people by their cover, if you wanna have a great service you better dress smart. I’ll never come back, nor buy their products or recommend to anyone.

Basically no service for me, keep talking to other customers, not sure if it’s because I’m not a local or what, luckily get good service at other. The wine is just average. Very bad experience. Maybe one suggestion to the owner: Hire better stuff at the cellar door please!

Appetisers kicked off lunch well and it’s all downhill with timing from there. It look over 45 mins for mains to come through. Wait staff could’ve checked in with the kitchen on the pace or the kitchen could’ve asked if the table is ready for their mains. Dessert also took awhile to be served. Being a traveller, we are time sensitive and this has set us back quite substantially. Whilst the quality of the food was great, I was very disappointed with the dining experience.

Had our anniversary lunch here. Were greeted by a lovely "front of house" waitress who seated us. Our next server was not quite as good. I asked to taste the wine and was told to go to the cellar door to try it. We selected the wine. Entrees were good. My main meal was ok but my husband had sous vide fish which was not cooked through. Desserts not good at all. The server approached to ask about the meal and my husband said the fish wasn't cooked properly. She informed my husband that it was cooked sous vide. Sous vide doesn't mean raw and uncooked! The impression she gave was that my husband didn't know what he was talking about. (We have a sous vide machine at home) The man at the next table had the same complaint and was told by the same server that it was sous vide and that's how it's done. My husband reviewed our meal on Trip Advisor and General Manager informed him he was rude to his "hard working staff". This DID NOT happen and it was strange he wanted to blame the customer rather than address the issue at hand which was the under cooked fish.

Wines were great. But service experience very lacking. I'm not sure why, maybe because we were a younger couple, but the tastings were delivered with no conversation or discussion of the wines "Here's our shiraz. " and a brisk walk away from our table. Very dissapointing. If not for the service we would have purchased a dozen of the 2020 cab sav.

Make sure you call ahead, if they are hosting a wedding or any special occasion they only take bookings no walk in quest.

So don’t drive by and think you’ll have a lovely lunch. Little disappointed

Wine is good but the vibe when you visit feels like someone killed the winemaker and their ghost is forever haunting the tasting hall.

Lovely restaurant setting, however the food was overpriced for two courses ($69), and I was disappointed in the wait between entree and main; I believe the staff and/or kitchen actually forgot ours as about 25-30 mins waiting I enquired, to which I was informed there is usually a 30 minute wait for the beef AFTER the entree is cleared up (not from the time of order). If this is true, it would surely be printed on the menu, but instead feels like an excuse. The table beside us (party of 4) who just received their entree after ours was cleared, received their main at the same time as my fiancee and I. Ironically the beef was chewy and slightly overcooked - this picture does it more justice than in person.

Tasting was pretty underwhelming, the lady serving us was not very friendly and didn't give us any information on the wines. We were done in 5 minutes and that was it.

Although great scenery and friendly staff, the menu was very restrictive. Our group wanted to order the 6 course menu however one person does not eat beef. They were not accommodating and did not offer any substitutions. Would not return unfortunately.

Nice place for lunch (below $42 per main dish) if you’re willing to splurge a little. Desserts are a little pricey, about $16 for each dessert.

3 course was $65 which I thought was value for $$ but as they needed the whole table to participate we didn’t go for it as we were a group of 9 adults visiting.

Loved the bread with spices and olive oil. Chicken was a 3 star, but the fish (Baramundi) was good.

We did the tasting and lunch. The pricing is properly pretentious of both the wine and lunch. Booze and food is pretty nice though but silly money.
Service is great. Winery is what we would expect but restaurant is well above the norm for service.

This is a great winery for a long lunch. The service and food are outstanding. We didn’t get a chance to do a tasting prior to lunch but that would be a good addition to the afternoon. Make sure your prebook to avoid disappointment.
