Uncle Billy's Chinese Restaurant

Very aggressive and rude behaviour. We changed the table due to cold weather from outside. The owner himself made bad comments with attitude which was very disappointing. We have been going there for last 5 years. But the cooking quality and customer service deteriorated drastically over time.

Been coming here at least 2 to 3 times a month for many, many years but lately the price has gotten very expensive (paid $105 for 3 dishes and a couple of small entrees, no drinks) food portion size has gone noticeably smaller and the service is terribly rude and they will not fix something they have got wrong. Sad to say i won't be going back for a long time. Introduced many clients, family and friends here but will now find a different restaurant instead. Not worth it anymore.

Terrible service and food too was not tasty. Even when serving food it is literally thrown on the table instead of placing it gently. Never again coming here. Billy Lee across the other side is way better. Food is exceptional even on busy days.

Another delightful night in Perth, was craving good Chinese and we were directed to Uncle Billy's on Roe St in Northbridge and it was very unassuming in appearance from the outside, but my god the explosion of flavours was incredible with every meal we ordered, especially the Szechuan beef, WOW! The octopus tentacles was also delish! I would return here again in a heartbeat. The service could do with some help but it didn't deter from the amazing food.

Mapo Tofu is so great with steam rice, if you order one plate of this, you can eat about 10 bowls of rice

Waited ages for the meal then when it finally arrived our mains came before the starters, asked why and they said sorry we are busy.staff didn't care really poor attitude. King Prawns were tiny and more batter than anything. All in all a very average experience. Would not go back.

Takeaway experience, spring rolls and wontons from frozen food dept.fried noodles with shredded chicken and pork, very little meat and use of 2 minute noodles.
Will not spend there again.

Please check your bill every single time you go to this place. I didn't have tea but was charged for the same. Similarly, we had a small portion of entrée but was charged for a large portion (happened to me thrice). Not sure if this place is doing this regularly because most of their customers generally are drunk.

Great Chinese food, the salt and pepper squid is a must try. Very fresh and we'll seasoned. I always order this from the menu when I visit or order takeaway. They also do an amazing fried rice, something that's hard to get right. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. The staff is also lovely.

The food was ok but it took an hour to come (the restaurant was not busy at all at that time. Some tables came after me but still got the food first. We want to cancel the food bc it took too long but the manager yelled at us that the food is coming and they alr made it. (Took an hour)
The waiter was also super rude and attitude to customers. He didn’t even say thank you or smile.

Organised a surprise birthday dinner at Uncle Billy's. Dinner was amazing and was topped off by a fried ice cream birthday cake which the restaurant organised without me asking. Was a wonderful finish to the night.

Very unprofessional. Main dishes came out well before rice making them cold with the rice. Half way through eating the main the guy came out for us to pay while we were eating. Asked for tap water and the guy came out with bottled water. Food was very bland and tasteless. Won't be coming back.

Can't get enough of the Fried Rice (Pork & Shrimp). So good. Slightly price, but makes of a great take-away treat. Will definitely be back for more.

Good Chinese food!
We came here on the recommendation of a local who told us that Uncle Billy's was the best Chinese restaurant in Perth. I don't know about that but the food was good, the service was fast, the portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.

The roast pork was not Chinese roast pork the chilly chicken was not Chinese chilly chicken, very disappointed. Hong Kong Chinese do not cook this kind or lousy food. They can lie to Australians and others here. I know all of China and know what Chinese food comes from which part of china.

Very noisy. Staff talked/shouted very loud. The lady manager ordered food at our table, tried to persuade us to order seafood 3 times! Yes 3 times! But we only wanted to have some fried dishes (meats and veges) that night. Really annoying and embarrassing. Won't go back again.

A must try for anyone new to Perth or visitors that want a cheeky late night Chinese restaurant feed.

Seems like the staff here always try to please and exceed expectations, one thing I believe that sets them apart from other Chinatown restaurants. One occassion that sticks out for me is our waitress' accommodation to my celiac friend whom helped us order gluten free food with no problems at all. My mate loves Chinese food and she loves Uncle Billy's so it was very comforting and it felt like we were in good hands. We appreciated it very much.

Food arrives hot every time and I'm always pleased with the dishes quality. My go to dishes are salt and chili squid tentacles and stir fry beef ho fun noodles during late night adventures. Early morning hours I will get some dumplings or a chicken congee. Also, they serve a mean, notoriously, indulgent deep fried mars bar. My mouth waters when I hear the name Uncle Billy's! Yum.

It's a good vibe here and everyone that goes set a unique and friendly atmosphere. It's a comfy type of environment, really good to bring mates and banter over dinner.

Overall, Billy's is a beloved landmark in Perth that many treasure. I appreciate the place and have made some very good memories here, I hope it never changes.

Amazing food. It gets busy! The menu is HUGE.
Highly recommend the chilli pepper chicken/squid. Order it with rice because you are going to want to eat it with every last bit of crunchy chilli seasoning left on the plate.
They are also open quite late so this place is perfect after a night out in Northbridge.
