Rockingham Medical Centre reviews
7621/11/24 at 12pm. I was told I have to pay a pre authorisation fee today of $81.40. The receptionist had long black hair and maybe 3 piercings around her nose, she did not have a name tag on. I have been coming to this medical centre for years and since the whole paying things has come into affect I’ve never missed a payment except for this one time I when I was suffering from reoccurring sinusitis having to go through 2 rounds of antibiotics and just being out of it, anyways I forgot and then I got an email saying I have to pay for which I did straight away. I was completely embarrassed today to be treated as if I’m someone who does not pay my bills considering it was one time I had forgotten being so sick and just wanting to be home in my bed. I feel as though a catalyst for this “pre authorisation fee” was my brown skin as she took a while to decide if it something she should go ahead with. If there is information regarding her choice of action with me forgetting to pay one time which I’m sure there must be one or two people who’ve also forgotten then please advice me as I left feeling absolutely discriminated against by this receptionist and probably won’t be returning again.
James the podiatrist is brilliant - makes you feel comfortable and at ease during consult
Look forward to following appointments
From trying to book an appointment over the phone to actually seeing a doctor is a whole lot more of a hassle than it ever should be. And 90% of the time it’s not worth the $75 + to see a doctor.
First of all, I call and it rings and rings and rings, then I get an automated message and get put on hold. After 20 minutes of waiting I give up and call again thinking maybe you forgot. Another 20 minutes, I give it some time, 40 minutes.
No one should be waiting more than 10 minutes to speak to reception and that’s being lenient.
Even once I’ve booked the appointment and am waiting in line to check-in, the reception staff seem to be unable to keep up with the work flow. Phones are either being ignored the entire time, or there’s a line all the way down the stairs because they’re on the phone. There will be times when there are 3 people at reception and only 1 actively calling to people while the other 2 have their heads down in their computers all while there’s a huge line of people.
Once past that ordeal it’s now time to wait over an hour past the scheduled appointment to see a doctor who has you “fixed up” in 2 minutes. (Eg: I went in to see what was wrong with my throat. The doctor waved the light over my mouth for a second and then handed me a script and sent me on my way.) Why is it taking an hour to see a doctor who seems to have everything sorted in under a minute? And then they have the audacity to charge you $75 dollars for that?
This could be a great place for a haunted house because I for one have nightmares.
I’d like to not be anxious and also irritated when I need to see a doctor.
We are fortunate to have Dr Gagandeep kundal as our GP since last three years and we highly recommend him for his polite and understanding approach to our medical needs. Takes his time to listen and provide all options including good referrals, medication and procedures
It is pathetic how long this practise makes you sit on hold for a call that will last two seconds. Considering how much they charge.
The information was given in a precise but friendly manner. I felt as ease and the nurse gave it with confidence. My experience was a pleasure
Made an appointment and then was told on the day the dr had turned private and I needed to pay. No one answers the phone when you call. Used to be great, now it’s shocking.
Went to the doctors as I had a nasty virus, I wanted antibiotics to help it, a week later I felt worse so I went to my local pharmacist to see if they had any over the counter stuff just to be told the medication I was prescribed was for treating out of body skin infections and that it was the completely wrong medicine for the sickness I had. I then tried to book an appointment and was told the next available appointment is 4 weeks away! Or I could just come in and pay the super affordable $75 fee for an hour wait walk in right? What a joke
Was on hold for an hour when I thought maybe the phones weren’t working so I called back and was on hold for another 40 minutes when I just gave up and called another Centre and was answered immediately. The hold ring says there can be delays if you call before 8 and after 5. It was 10. Didn’t even get through to someone
Very helpful and friendly recieption staff. Easily booked an appointment and great that they have other services there, nurse, xray, scans etc
Moo.may as well be a cattle yard, pay your $75 and shuffle in and shuffle out, no investigation into the issues i came in for.was hoping for care.
Don't bother calling they don't answer. Three times I've been on hold to try book an appointment for over 1 hr each time.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVEN IF IT IS THE LAST SURGERY OPEN IN WA.
Firstly, you’ll wait a minimum 40 minutes to get through on the phone. AFTER THAT IT ONLY GETS WORSE.
If you need a medical report done, as did I, you’ll get told it will take 2-3 weeks to complete and only after threat of legal consequences you may get it after 7 months as did I.
Then there’s the transferring of medical records to another surgery. My new practice requested these on august 17th. Still no records. I followed this up personally a few weeks ago only to be told they never received the request. So I had the request sent through again and was assured that they had received it and it had been sent to Sydney for compilation. During that time I wrote a scathing review about them on here and was contacted by Rockingham to plead with me to take the review down. Apparently the practice owner had contacted the person I’d spoken to and was not happy with the review. I was promised that the records would not take long at all from this point on so I took the review down.
So here I am posting the review again. It’s been weeks since I was promised my records would be sent to the new surgery and they still have not arrived.
AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COST.
You will be ignored. Lied to. Avoided. Left in limbo.
You’d be better off going to a witch doctor in my opinion than this bunch of clowns.
A Big thank you for Dr Theron she is very good at what she does, been going there for a while and never been dissatisfied with how I have been treated or the advice I have been given by her or any of her colleagues, keep up the good work.
9.5 minutes on automated hold just to see if any appointments available, hung up before I could actually speak to a person.
Thank you so much to Dr. Deep Kundal for seeing my 2 year old via Telehealth. Due to his flu like symptoms, he was unable to be seen face to face by any GP. Was very grateful that Dr. Deep was able to squeeze us in and give us the phone consultation we needed to get him some medication.
Thanks also to the lovely Adele at the front desk for all your help and for facilitating everything. Very much appreciated?
Huge fees if you want to see a dr. Or plan your sickness ahead. Basically don't get sick on the weekend or public holidays, or after regular business hours. Just go waste the hospital's time, go there to see a dr, unless you have plenty of money to spare.
My experience with RMC has been nothing but fantastic. The Drs, Radiology, Pathology and the nurses are all so helpful and nice. I wouldn't take my family anywhere else
Terrible. Told me for a couple weeks they had an urgent message and I needed an appointment with the doc. Charged me $90 just for the doc to ask if im OK and needed any follow up physio from last year.
Took Less then 10 secs and apparently that's way to important to ask me over the phone or in an email that would save me $90.
I will start with the positives. The medical centre is very convenient. Labs, path, scans, x-ray, dental and pharmacy close together.unfortunately covid and other reasons has caused angst and busyness that the staff sound burnt out and snappy on the phone. I'm disappointed because I'm seeing the doctor due to sickness and sometimes I and many others just would like kind during our adversities.

Received a lovely phone call today, Rockingham medical centre took my situation seriously. Provided me reassurance and a sincere apology. I appreciate that the time was spent today to rectify my bad experience. I can say that I will definitely be going back as we all make mistakes.
