Padbury's Cafe Restaurant

Horrific service and would strongly recommend people find alternate places to go. It’s just not worth the wait. Apparently it was “our fault” because we ordered pancakes (which they’re famous for?) and that caused the delay.

I’ve been going here for years and the service has gone from average to terrible. Waited over an hour for food - no one even came to bring us water or let us know there was a delay.

The table beside us left 30+ mins ago and the table still hasn’t even been cleared.

Beyond a joke.

I used to love this restaurant so much. Food is not yummy anymore.: (took my mom to eat with high expectations as we used to come a lot in the past. I always ordered linguine but this time the sauce is not right and the pasta was not as expected. My mom ordered barramundi and fish which didn't taste fresh and the batter is didnt taste right either. Eventhe chips were dry, tasted like they were dried in old oil. My partner ordered the hash brown dish which was really oily, but the poached eggs were good. And so were the drinks. Overall, we use to love this place however after today's experience we won't be back again, sadly.

Tried to book by calling their number five times on a Sat Eve when they were open, no answer so then went to book online to be told via email the following day that my booking was not confirmed and to call the restaurant. Still no answer so subsequently then text the mobile number about booking, still waiting for a reply. So disappointed, I will not recommended this restaurant as the service or lack off is not promoting of this restaurant at all.

Disappointing…. Standing in front of door waiting for the seat around 5 mins, was not a busy time, 2~3 staff seeing us and no one came, just keep cleaning table, even still enough table for the waiting customers. Also hard to call them when wanna ordering food, that just focus on the other things instead of customers.

We ordered crispy crepe, hash and pancake. Hash was nice but the crispy for the crepe was overcook, hard like a stone Not crispy, pancake was not good as the first time we visited….

Really bad experience, regret to recommend this cafe to friends before

While the place is stunning, the staff are snobby and not welcoming at all. Such a shame to receive such awful service from a place that is apparently so highly rated. We’ve been there twice now and thought the first time was maybe a one off bad customer experience but it was reconfirmed on our second visit. So much for a pleasant brunch experience in an otherwise charming venue.

We won’t be going back to this restaurant for dinner ever again! Arrived at 7: 30pm, drinks took 20 minutes to get, ordered appetisers and main meals at the same time. Apps came about another 20 minutes later. That wasn’t a problem, we understood they were busy.
But when a table of 4 came in 40 minutes after us, and had 2 rounds of drinks and their main meals served, we were now very upset!
Now they tell us that what we had ordered was now not available. They had run out! That was the last straw! It was 9: 45pm now. So we just decided, that’s it……we are going to pay for drinks and apps and leave.
Unfortunately this has left a very bad flavour in our mouths. The evening was ruined. And this was to be a special evening, marking an end to an era! We are so very disappointed!
I do not recommend this restaurant at all!

Completely overrated place. Everybody is packed in like sardines, tables are tiny - so much so that you can't fit 2 plates on it, no walking room, no where to stand if you are in line to be seated or to pay the bill, awkward young and inexperienced front of house staff, nobody ever answers the phone, won't accept walk-ins even when tables are free, and the food really is mediocre.

Foodies beware of the hype around the pancakes: it's seriously not worth it. Save yourselves the drive and take an Instagram pic of the pancakes at a different, more deserving business.

Okay look.i was very excited to try this place due to my fav breakky spot was closed on a Monday. Not gonna lie, the building! Wow. I'm a fans of the set up.
Here's the down part, service was way out of standards. Just not friendly. Did not repeat my order to check on me, I swear I asked my poached eggs to be runny. See pics i have provided, presentation was sweet but then! Look at my eggs! No! That aint runny Yall! Cant blame it on kitchen team, I was not even sure how my server took my order on her mind! Just show us a better show next time! You cant please everyone in the game, but damn it just repeat the order make sure it's right! Got you 2 stars cos i bloody love the building!

Padbury's service is usually very good but today its been over an hour before we got our food and the table next to us sat down after us and has received their food before us. They are a table of 4 and we are a table of 2. They seem to be very understaffed and the restaurant is not that full. Food wasn't that good either, poached eggs were very cold and the hash brown was hot. I won't be back as wasn't worth waiting 1.5hrs for.

I want to rate this higher and I'm going to give it another shot in the future (3rd time) to see if things have changed. Wish they would simply hire more staff or time limit the seatings.

Food was ok and the setting is gorgeous. Very very busy on a Saturday morning and super loud. Took about 20 minutes for coffees to come out. We were told the breakfast would take 20 minutes and after asking 3 times it came out 50 minutes later, some of the meals about 10 minutes later. When I brought this up with management he apology didn't seem sincere and was full of excuses. My advice- When someone is disattisfied, validate them.don't make excuses.

WA has so much to learn when it comes to customer service.

Beautiful old building, nice food and a nice little pad.

Dont’s:
- the lemon myrtle pancakes were not bad, not mind blowing

Everybody on social media talked about this place (or their pancake) a lot so we wanted to have a try. Lovely setting, the surrounding are cosy, refreshing with plants. Fast service despite they were busy at the time with three staffs on floor.

About the food, good presentation but very disappointing. Compare to the hype everybody given to the pancake, I found it just at 7/10, that’s for the first bite, half way through it, 5/10, the meringue is overly sweet, the honey comb was bitter aftertaste, the only good thing about this dish is the passionfruit that has a little bit of sour taste to balance it out

The steak sandwich is 3/10, trust me, spend your 27$ elsewhere, steak was thin and overcooked, bland and no flavor, have to add a lot of salt to get through it, the mayonnaise on top doesn’t have to be there cause it just doesn’t compliment anything, burnt toast.

About the coffee, got a flat cappuccino with 3mm of froth and tasted sour. Not good coffee sour but bad one, please adjust your coffee recipe.

Great service and seating, the food we had was pretty good but the menu is very small for breakfast, would like to soon omelette and choice of just bacon an eggs with toast, can't have everything I suppose.

I’d heard a lot about this Cafe, maybe my expectation was too high, we’d ordered pancake but the pancake was too sweet to finish it by two of us. Staff were nice and polite and the cafe itself was beautiful

We've been to Padbury's before and were expecting the same level of quality however this time I was disappointed. Not sure if it's because they have different cooks during the week but my potato rosti was soggy and undercooked, not the crispy deliciousness I was expecting. My husband had the pancakes which he said were as good as usual.

They can be quite slow to take your order and flagging them down if you want a second coffee can be a bit of a challenge.

We will give them another go in the hope that this was just a one off bad day with the food.

I went for lunch today and was very disappointed. The wait staff were pleasant and competent but the food took over half an hour to come out. I had the prawn omelette with crispy pancake and chilli jam. The omelette was delicious but the pancake was inedible- hard, impossible to cut and smelled strongly of rancid oil. When the waitress cleared the table I told her this, she apologised and said she would tell the kitchen. I knew the place closed at 3.00 so at 2.10 I called the waitress over and asked for the menu. She told me that the kitchen was closed except for drinks. Very disappointing that I wasn’t told in advance that the kitchen was about to close nor asked if we wanted dessert. Overall not the best experience.

Food and dining with family was nice. Old dishes took a little while to be removed. Garlic prawns large a little on the small side and pancakes are interesting nothing crazy. A nice spot to enjoy in old Guildford Town

A nice cafe to visit if you are having a day trip near the swan valley or spending time with friends or family.

Greatbsetting, nice food but can be really noisy when its busy and no table service for ordering.
