Forrest Family Practice reviews
66Despite a sign on the door warning that they will not prescribe a range of drugs of addiction, doctors at this practice frequently prescribe these drugs to known addicts and even offer prescriptions for drugs like Stilnox to patients looking for non-drug help with sleeping issues. Local drug users refer to this practice as The One Stop Shop.
Went in today for myself and my daughter, got seen straight away. Fast effective service! Thanks Dr. Kunir
The staff here are going downhill and do not understand customer service, the last few times I have had to deal with counter staff they were bordering on rude, and today refused to book me in for a flu jab that was outside of the "flu clinic" even though I wanted to see the doc about something else as well.
Not good enough. I went to this practice recently to have a whooping cough vaccine as I am already into my 3 trimerster of pregnancy. I was originally happy with the fact that they were able to see me on a saturday and that I was seen fairly promptly by a gp. I was not happy however with the fact that everybody there, the receptionist, the doctor and the nurse failed to tell me that as a pregnant woman I was entitled to have this vaccine for FREE. As they did not have any left they told me to go to the pharmacy next door and buy one which cost me $55. At no point did any body there say, "if you want it today you can buy it from the pharmacy next door OR you can reschedule for when we have more vaccines or see if another practice have them so you can get it for free. I would have appreciated that, I went along with it because i did not know better. As health practitioners they should have informed me of my options. I politely asked the lady at reception the reason why no one would have told me this. Her reply was, "did you tell the doctor and the nurse you were pregnant? ". Seriously? ! A) of course i did and b) astronauts in space can see that I am pregnant. Whilst we all need to try and be well informed about everything these days, one cannot know everything. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect health practitioners to be able to advice their patients well. My experience there just was not good enough.
Has gone down hill dramatically over the last few years. Massive waiting times considering the size of the facility and inconsistent doctors. I was regularly seeing a doctor there and was on a special course of medication that the doctor had discussed with medicare. Things were going great and one day i went in and the reception staff said "oh sorry that doctor has moved away". No notice was given to me regarding my medications and no doctor would continue on with me. I was told to go elsewhere and considering that i had been going to Forrest practice since i was a baby (when it was still on Forrest Avenue) this was a shattering blow. On top of that you cant book an appointment and get bulk billed you have to either pay or wait around like a begger until someone calls your name out with no real idea how long you may be waiting for. Definitely dont recommend it but if you dont have another option it does the job.
