For a 4.5 star hotel, this was below par of what I would expect for such a rating.
Firstly I had to ring to confirm my own accommodation and to "ask" them to please take my money for the accommodation. Also, once this was done I got no confirmation email as per what I was promised would happen - zilch - so I still didn't have a confirmation, but we decided to turn up and hope for the best.
Secondly, no explanation of facilities available or what the Lodge has to offer upon arrival. In fact, the whole front desk staff were all lethargic and not very warm.
Next, we get a card saying we have a complimentary bottle of wine (I still have the card). Upon enquiring which bottle that was we were told No, that was incorrect, you don't have a bottle of wine - they made a mistake.
Lastly, upon checkout, I was not offered nor given a receipt for my payment of incidentals. Took the money, offered the change and that was it. No printout as per the normal process.

As for the accommodation, it was great, the Bella Restaurant food was awesome and the breakfast was very good.

The staff were the biggest disappointment and given hospitality is struggling at the moment, that was my biggest surprise and disappointment.

Definetly 4.5 stars. Needs to tidy up abit around the edges. Nice area, great facilites. Breakfast was excellent. Staff are extremely friendly.

Amazing venue, staff were fantastic and went beyond their duty to provide A1 service.
The buffet breakfast (included in accommodation booking) was fresh and fully stocked with a variety of choices.
Highly recommend and will use again.

Could not fault any aspect of our experience at the Lodge! Exemplary staff, quality accomdation and a perfect journey to the Elton John gig! Will return!

Beautiful accomodation and scenery. We stayed recently only for one night as we were near by for a friend’s wedding. We would love to come back and utilise the facilities more, especially the golf course!
We also ordered room service, which wasn’t that great. We had burgers (veggie and beef) and were both underwhelmed. I can’t vouch for other choices though!
The included breakfast was delicious.

I stayed for the first time here back in April for our wedding anniversary. On entering the room my wife found the toilet full of hair and dirty. They offered to put us in a different room and give us a bottle of wine. We specifically chose a hotel with pool but in the evening when we went to go for a swim, we found out the heater was broken so the pool was freezing cold. Then in the morning for breakfast there was nowhere to sit and there were nowhere near enough staff on hand. We felt a bit ripped off as the room was very expensive and we had a really average stay.

I decided to give them a chance and before leaving a bad review, I contacted a guy called Jason. He assured me it was a one off and to make it up to me would offer me 25% if I stayed again and would also give us a bottle of wine.

I decided to try again a couple of weeks ago with my dad who was visiting from UK. The food in the restaurant in the evening the first time was amazing so was looking forward to that. When I arrived I found a voucher on the bed for returning guests for 25% off. So the offer is available for anyone and there was no real extra effort to compensate me for my previous bad stay other than a bottle of wine. Jason had since moved on so I still didn't get it. I then found out that because of a conference, the restaurant was closed so we couldn't go. The room was also dirty again, hairs in the bath and dirt/hairs under soap dish, generally poor cleaning.

I told the receptionist in the morning, she was relatively sympathetic but told me she was new and would definitely pass on my experience to management. I was never contacted.

Don't be fooled into thinking paying more money means better quality. We wanted to treat ourselves and paid more than we normally would for our anniversary. It was really underwhelming on both occasions and nobody seems that bothered even when I gave them a second chance. Great location and decent restaurant when its open but my advice is go elsewhere. So many better places where you won't leave feeling ripped off. Nowhere near the standard you would expect for the money and evidently not a one off

Nice place in a nice location with a buffet breakfast. Also had Kangaroos just outside which was nice and not too far from the city.

Was here for breakfast and it was fabulous. Buffet style all you can eat. Staff were very friendly. Lots of food to choose from. Would definitely go back if the opportunity arose.

It's a beautiful property with scenic view and also you will definitely see kangaroos, rabbits and lots of birds. Beautiful lake side and really quiet place. Food is amazing and great service.

The Yarra Lodge heritage is a place that I have visited over the last 15 years. The golf course is immaculate the conference and hotel is well catered for, it could get an update on it decor

Accomadation is omg amazing and comfortable the customer service is friendly and very helpful and the food is omg to die for, the staff are so amazing friendly and on top of everything not to mention amazing, I asked for a glass of sweet sparkling wine and the waitress came back with a delicious mimosa which made my day saying I needed something special

Excellent attention to detail for guests to have an enjoyable stay. Professional staff attend to requirements efficiently.

Really nice stay. Went for a quick overnight stay. Friendly staff. Bella restaurant was exactly as we expected, very nice (despite reading some online reviews). It is showing signs of aging though.

Great room and accommodation, let down by bad restaurant management and average food (scotch steak). Buffet breakfast not topped up quick enough and even just bread for toast, not on tap. Needs new management I would say.

This place is amazing. I took my son there for a bit of a mummy and me getaway for the night. The room was big enough to entertain my 3 yr old, the grounds are beautifully kept, the Kangaroos are beautiful to see just casually relaxing by the footpaths.
The ladies at the reception desk are so friendly and welcoming.
Just an overall amazing place to stay.
And not expensive either.
I highly recommend this place for those that want a bit of relaxation and nature all in one.

Beautiful hotel set on the golf course. Accomodation was clean and spacious with a complimentary buffet breakfast. Wild wallabies and kangaroos roam the grounds. Bushwalks and the Yarra River close by. About an hour's drive from Melbourne CBD.

Very average. Cant say anything bad but cant say it's great. Air conditioning had just broken down on an incredibly humid day last time I visited so that didnt help

$400 a couple for the worse food and night iv ever had.we booked in September to find we didn't have a table booked at all
They made one up for the 6 of us in front of huge open doors and i spent the whole night freezing with my husbands coat around my shoulder. Our friends went home at 11pm. There was not one sign of Christmas to be seen not one decoration a. Disgrace.

Beautiful lodge, spacious, comfortable, peaceful and beautiful rooms. We liked breakfast spread, it had lots of choices. Amazing golf course, pool and sauna facilities. You are so close to nature and its beauty.

Really lovely and picturesque place.
We got a great midweek deal and it turned out to be great value. The breakfast was included and fantastic, the room great and very comfy bed.
Staff were lovely also.
I would stay again for sure.
