Yarra Valley Lodge

Comfortable little getaway in the Yarra Valley region. The grounds of this property is beautiful! Definitely worth doing a walk along the golf course & enjoy the wildlife.
The room was pleasant & we understand that due to most hospitality venues are short staffed we knew that the room was not going to be serviced everyday which we were completely fine with. However they did come in one of the days & did service the room.
Staff were friendly & helpful.
The only disappointment was the food & drink from the bar which I directly addressed to the food & beverage manager. Breakfast was nice, if you want a "real" coffee you need to pay extra.
Perfect location to visit the local wineries, dairy farm & chocolaterie.

I stayed here afew years back and remember the service etc.being alot better. I’ve just visited this weekend, The rooms were not clean. Three of the five rooms we had booked had hair on beds before use. Dusty rooms. Reception manned by one staff member. No room service for toiletries. I really wish they took some pride in their cleaning service. Just dusting the place will make a difference!

Had a lovely stay at the lodge during the easter. Lodge is surrounded by lush greenary, wet land area and you can spot kangaroos and many wetland birds. Spacious rooms, clean, well maintained and comfy bedding. Absolutely enjoyed the breakfast spread. Huge selection of items. Dinner at the bar was OK. Spa is just minutes walk away from the lodge. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and attentive. Highly reccomend a stay at the lodge.

This hotel is far from terrible, but there are some basics that are thoroughly lacking at this price point.

No in-room nespresso / pod coffee maker in a world where this is pretty standard for the price point ($320 per night). No mini bar. No room service before 12pm. Entrance is through car park as renovations are taking place at the front of the reception (no mention of this at time of booking). Staff are very friendly and helpful but this is very much a conference hotel with minimal facilities. Restaurant is only open two nights a week and the bar isn't staffed most of the time. There are no shops or restaurants close by so we ended up buying snacks at the pro shop and driving to the supermarket to grab some cheese for a cheese plate. Rooms are in average condition but haven’t been updated since the 90s.

Nice rooms, staff unwelcoming. Nothing in the room, not even a bottle of water. Why is it so hard to keep 2 bottles of water if you take such huge room prices? No house keeping as well. If you need anything.u need to head back to the reception. Will not make you feel like you’ve come for a holiday. Breakfast buffet was pathetic…

Yarra Valley Lodge is a perfect gateway. The golf course area, the in house kangaroos, the service makes it the perfect spot to steam off. The breakfast buffet that was included with the room was top notch. The rooms could have been better. I found the pillows are very uncomfortable as well as the bed. I could not sleep well, the days I was in. The TV in my room was really bad. Just logging into netflix is a huge challange. Its not comforting. I cannot give a perfect score just because of the room. We were denied poached eggs during breakfast on sunday, just because the staff were too busy. There should be better management during peak times. Also, the rooms could include coupons for 'The Retreat', adding more value. Its just a minute walk from the lodge. 'The Retreat' don't have a spa, thats a disappointment.

Pleasant location but just does not cut it as high end motel. Unfortunately no eggs at breakfast, room service did not know what the menu was so explained it incorrectly. Then there was no gym, no pool, no spa, no sauna. Would have expected them at the prices they charged, so while the room was good the rest was not up to standard for the price paid. All in all disappointing would not return. Picture of “Irish stew”!

Absolutely gorgeous stay here at the lodge! Rooms are so clean and spacious. Service was excellent, such friendly staff at reception, bar and restaurant. Buffet breakfast was gorgeous, such an array of options. Had dinner in the lodge bar in outside terrace area and was gorgeous meal. Stunning surrounds and gardens, very well kept. Would highly recommend and most definitely will return. Such a relaxing and unwinding getaway in the country.

We paid $370 a night, over a 4 night stay in their suite
Cable for tv and phone had to be reset (fine)
Lights in our room didn’t work for a few hours (okay)
Aircon didn’t work in main area last two days (okay)
Water in two sinks (ensuite) started to give us brown water on third day? (not okay)
House keeping was every two days, attention to detail wasn’t great (didn’t refill tissues, only gave us one face towel, but by this point I chose to keep silent and deal with the bigger battles listed above)
Staff were lovely throughout our stay — they deserve 5 stars— bedsheets also clean and soft, kangaroos around the place are awesome, the grounds / garden areas well kept.

Was the worst service I have ever received. We had over 20 rooms booked for my sons wedding that day. Received a phone call to say power is out and you will need to arrange other accommodations. No help what’s so ever. No plan. I was in tears, I was getting ready to watch my son get married and to receive this phone was devastating.

Top tier weekend getaway. Far from the rowdy city. A nice relaxed setting with a golf course! A plus.

My immediate family and I stayed at the Yarra Valley Lodge before and after my wedding, and we had the most fantastic experience there! We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the attention to detail for our stay, and the breakfast that we had altogether there was lovely too. Would recommend!

Recently stayed here. The property itself is great with Kangaroos & nature on the doorstep.
The room was ready as soon and we arrived, it was large, spacious & clean. We were surprised to find a bottle of wine and some macaroons to celebrate a special occasion. –The only downside was we had some troubles with the airflow, but may be due to overall heating at the hotel.
We had a massage at the Day Spa on site which was worth every cent (Hotel gave us a $30 voucher).
We ate at the Lodge bar which was very nice – Only bad thing was the kitchen closed at 9pm so we were unable to have a dessert.
Would highly recommend as its close to the outer eastern suburbs allowing easy access to the nearby supermarket & shopping centre.

Thanks for the great weekend & hopefully will be back in the near future

This old beauty has aged well. Nothing bad to say. Not amazing, but the bed was extremely comfortable and the room spotless, but boring. Food was basic but good. Bar is boring but made good by the lovely staff. Thank u

Beautiful place to stay, comfortable rooms and amazing restaurant. The food was fantastic, every dish was delicious and beautifully plated.

A beautiful place to stay. So quiet and relaxing. Jacinta (bar staff) was an absolute joy and provided outstanding customer service. I ordered a steak for dinner and hands down was the best I have ever had. Cooked to perfection. Breakfast was fantastic as well. We had a lovely, romantic weekend away here which was fabulous from start to finish.

Breakfast was amazing, rooms nice and clean just need a room service menu left in the room, and how to active wifi- as no one told us and we had to call to find out for ourselves, and the walking trails don’t have proper signs, overall very good!

Reception and Housekeeping were both very good. We experienced poor service and cold unpalatable food in restaurant. Complained to General Manager, expected an improvement, but alas, they started off badly, then fell away.

A fabulous place to enjoy a break and smell the fresh country air. Our welcome from Lisa at reception was fabulous and set the scene for the next 3 days. All the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. While the complex is a few years old - everything was spotless and they are in the process of updating the facilities. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Overall I would give this 5 stars every day and highly recommend this place.
