We spent 5 nights here, can’t say enough how beautiful and scenic this location is, however the lodge service was not to the luxury of spot, there was dust and spider webs in the corners, the room carpets had several stained spots and when ai asked for slippers I was told it’s not included. The breakfast variety and quality was good, but the bar lodge food was average to poor and pricey. The staff were nice and friendly, in general we enjoyed our time here but certainly there’s room to improve and they can offer much more.

Stunning location
Green Clean and comfortable
Wild life visible
Beautiful classy rooms
Great for Singles Couples and families
Buffet breakfast plenty Good and included with room purchase which is a bonus
Breakfast staff even under pressure are very welcoming kind and ready to serve.

Desk staff kind and willing to support when team leader/ desk manager is present staff become uneasy.
The Desk manager on several occasions has a Self-righteous complexity. Not good at all off putting rude and should not work with people.

Golf course always Green Clean and Tidy.
Staff are Amazing, supportive and always have a genuine kindness.
Spectacular 18 hole course
Great 1 level Driving range

venues
Breakfast venue: excellent
Dinner/ lunch venue: medium

Great for value

Swimming water hole, fishing and walking tracks close by
On the other side of the golf course

We recently hosted our National Conference at the Lodge and loved the service and attention to detail by the team. The conference facilities and group dinner were fantastic. The staff were friendly and accommodating for our group.

Enjoyed my stay and will be coming back soon with my family. The receptionist was able to sort out the issue I had with my bank. 10/10 would recommend, best buffet and wonderful picturesque place.

I recently stayed at the Yarra Valley Lodge for 3 nights as part of a large group. I highly commend the staff for consistent excellent customer service. Room was spacious, clean & has beautiful views of the surrounds. Catering for the group was very generous and we never went hungry! Large Nespresso machines available in each conference room for guests.
Under cover parking was very convenient and made packing very easy.
Being located on the other side of town, it only took one hour to drive to & was easy to locate. Highly recommended for functions, groups and even if travelling on your own to explore the area's tourist attractions.

Getting a little old. Closed or not very well staffed bar, eateries etc. But the biggest problem…. NO accessible parking bays anywhere to be see near the elevator not sure if there were any other places. But near the elevator to reception should be where they are. I parked in a regular space with my car on the line one side and hoped I didn’t have bother someone to move their car when I needed it. No accessible parking is very very behind the times. Maybe even against the law?

Situated inside the Heritage resort, it is a wonderful place to stay and relax even with a family. Check into the spa, exercise, jump into a pool or steam up in a sauna. The service is average, but overall depends on your own interests. Good if you want to be in nature without the crowd.

Stayed here for one night passing through.
Comfortable bed, clean, friendly service and a beautiful scenery. Close to wineries. I’d recommend Chandon and Coombe Estate.

A great stay, perfect for a night away. We booked due to a wedding, we were pleasantly surprised and already discussed about when to next return

Website indicates restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. However, the restaurant is in fact 'not open' for breakfast to the general public. Only in-house guests are allowed.
Website is misleading and needs to be updated.

Sadly, this hotel lacks atmosphere and vibe. Still using Covid as an excuse to not employ staff over long weekends to ensure that facilities are available for paying guests, what a sad ghost town of a hotel in the Yarra Valley, wouldn't waste my time or money!

Ho-hum. Luxurious decor, but very impersonal and not particularly inviting. If you want a large place for an event, ok, but I wouldn't personally go there unless I wanted to play golf. There is a small gym, small pool and a nice sauna, all of which operates on limited hours (remember to take your towel) ; I tried to go early before leaving, didn't open until 9am. Service was ok, but clearly stretched due to low staffing. Have a car, as taxis and Uber don't go there (I tried to get one, a local cab could come in an hour, if I was willing to wait and dint want to go very far).

Located in a gorgeous location with a clean room, average food for buffet, cheap cheese and wine served for the “taste of the yarra valley” package. Okay experience but hefty price tag.

Nice and quiet location, amazing breakfast (the best baked beans ever), nice and clean room. Just unlucky to get room 216 which is situated on front of the restaurant - no privacy. Will come back again!

I organized a large group event at the Yarra Valley Lodge, and their staff were exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process.

The accommodation itself was wonderful, the room has everything you could want for a relaxing weekend away and the feedback from our staff was awesome. We loved our stay and had a fantastic group dinner.

Beautiful views, great central location for activities, and decent parking facilities. Thank you again to the team for a great stay!

SO BORING!
The bar was EMPTY and had to call the phone to get service? There was absolutely no atmosphere anywhere. The staff was not welcoming at all, just had the worst vibe ever. Would not recommend.
Accomodation was boring too, surely you’d put some water bottles in there for the price you pay? Just could do so much better and it’s so disappointing that it was like this because I remember it being so much better.

Stay anywhere but here. Management has no idea what a hotel is or should be. The staff are lovely and friendly but hamstrung by management who clearly enjoy the cushy conference market but don’t know how to provide basic services to normal guests.
There are enough critical reviews in the list to read without repeating what they have said already. It is all true.
If you just need somewhere to sleep and can get a room for cheap, go for it. But if you actually want a hotel with amenities to enjoy and want to have a hotel experience, stay anywhere but here!
Management offered us a heavily reduced rate ($200/n) or to check out immediately and a refund of nights not used (not a full refund as the hotel claims).
I would have preferred to leave, but my was doing a course nearby and finding a new hotel last minute would have been a nightmare.
If you are staying here, just be aware that it differs to a normal hotel in that:
- Rooms are not serviced daily
- The room has zero amenities apart from 4 coat hangers and a kettle with two teabags and instant coffee (no milk).
- No room service until the afternoon
- A restaurant that rarely opens and if it is, it’s booked out by conference guests
- Access to the building is only via the often full car park as the reception area is under major repairs and inaccessible
Apparently this is acceptable for $420/night. If this sounds appealing to you - go for it.
If you are here for a conference or playing golf, it might be ok if you don’t intend on staying in the room.
On the plus side despite the owners of this hotel not really caring about their guests - the staff really do try hard and are especially lovely. I do feel bad for them.
The two golf courses are also excellent and their restaurant in the club house is also very good.
The food in the bar is also quite good and staff there are also lovely.
Overall it’s a very underwhelming experience for the money though and clearly management would rather argue with their customers in the comments than actually take on board the rather large number of negative reviews and try and improve the property.
I wish I had noticed the large number of 5 star reviews that appear to be exactly the same and paid more attention to the 1 star reviews before booking!
