85I never thought I’d be giving a 5 star review to vic roads, but I was so impressed with the operations at the Carlton office! All the staff were so helpful, seemed happy to be there, and were super efficient. I commend whoever is managing this place, well done!
Just did a driving test with Lisa in the pouring rain and she was so kind, clear and careful to make sure I understood everything we were going to do. I was nervous, but her manner was calm and made me feel better immediately. She made what could have been a hard situation so much better. Thanks Lisa
Pain in the backside. Tried to schedule an appointment to get my licence switched over from SA. Had to book six weeks in advance due to a "high demand" for appointments (read low staffing). When it turned out I couldn't make my appointment for work reasons, I was told I'd have to pay a $20 fee to rearrange. When I turned up for that one, I had to wait 45 minutes before being served. By comparison, for the exact same process in SA, I simply turned up and was out of there in half an hour. They just need to employ more staff.
Vicious psychopaths. Needed easy transfer transaction, went in, place was almost completely empty, but the guy insisted that “I had to book an appointment”. The first one was in six weeks.
He said this is because “it will take up to 10 minutes to process”. Again, the place was almost empty he could of easily just done it. I had all the documents and completed forms everything needed right there. But instead he took 10 minutes to explain why he can’t spend 10 minutes to do the transaction, and I “must” book for 6 weeks later.
I drove all the way in for nothing, to sit in an empty waiting room, to be served immediately, only to be lied to “oh no we don’t possibly have the time to do our jobs, come back in over a month”. Absolute joke. Total psychopaths.
Why do I have to wait 7 business days for my refund when all it takes is 1 push of a button to send it but it takes 1 second to take my money when paying this is not great
It's good for all your motor vehicle needs, and they're very good at resolving tricky situations.

I did my drive test today at Carlton Vicroads. My tester was Bhavik and he was very clear with his instructions and it was a pleasant testing experience with him.
We went to VicRoads to transfer our car rego plates. Staff are absolutely amazing, greeting staff, counter staff, supervisor, they were all professional and did a great job. It's a real shame they charge for booking fees. So that's nearly $60 for 2xlicences and rego transfer, just to book appointments.
I completed my driving test today. My test supervisor was Jess. He was very professional and provided clear instructions. Jess made taking the driving test at Carlton a very pleasant experience.
Great friendly staff. Did themselves proud. Absolutely nothing was too hard to help with the customer's visit. I'm surprised they didn't ask me if I wanted Tea and Bickies.
They did an excellent job!
Lisa was my driving tester and she was so cool calm and collected and immediately put me at ease for my test. The whole experience was smooth and I would recommend going to Carlton VicRoads to anyone! A+

I just did my driving test today with Jess.
His instructions were very clear and he repeated his instructions when necessary. He was kind and understanding for my anxiety and could tell I would be a safe driver in normal situations.
Over all I am very happy for my driving test and Jess today.
Jess is one of the best assessors. He is polite and patient. Carlton can be a hard test centre, however, taking test with him will not be nervous at all.
I had my driving test at VicRoads Driving Test in Carlton. The assessor was so nice and gave me clear instructions to follow. The test started on time and went smoothly, and they were so quick in finishing paperwork. It was incredible! The staff were all friendly and they were there to help me with questions.
Lovely lady sorted out my cancelled rego for me in a flash.the renewal notice had been returned to Vicroads somehow (good old Aus Post!) & I needed it reinstated quickly.

This place deserves less than one star. Went there to get my vehicle registered and was rudely told to go to a mechanic to stamp the vin number in the car even though the vin was clearly there. Had to drive there twice and the old grumpy guy behind the counter was completely disrespectful probably because I’m a foreigner…
Thanks so much to Sandra, the staff member who helped me finally solve my driver's licence name issue for the first time! I really appreciate all she went through to help me out.
Went there to get my overseas license verified, but got my information wrong and did not provide me a customer number and I have to revisit again: (. But the staff was friendly:)
