Worst public hospital ever! My father got cancer and needs urgent procedure to fix the jaundice which is damaging his brain, eyes and the full body. Even the specialist suggested the procedure done ASAP. From my father stepped into the Emergency of Monash Medical Centre, all things were delayed. The check up was delayed, the treatment was delayed, even the procedure was kept rescheduling again and again, days after days, until you are damaged badly by the disease because of their delay and really on the edgy of dying. No one there kept the patient posted about their plan. The patient is getting hurt and damaged by their low efficiency, but looks there no one cares. Very disappointed about their service.

Worst service ever! They don’t care if person is dying, they just only care for their money! Nobody is responsible person over there, not even doctor! Very disappointed with treatments and services. Awful!

Had an appointment on Friday the 9th of December 2022 at Monash heart staff were good no problems with having an ecg but the experience with the cardiologist was another matter, he was respectful at first but then he saw I was a smoker and totally changed and treated me like a pig unfortunately I have a bad heart but I will never step foot in that place again, never going to be treated like that again, don't trust the hospital system any more

7 hours in ED: 1) staff super slow 2) staff not patient and not attentive at all 3) left with the same condition and feeling when i came in, without really being treated or helped in anyway = would not recommend this place, avoid at all costs.

Disgusted with the way my father was treated under their care. Some of his nurses were lovely but I cannot say any more.

If you value your child's health/life, probably best to choose another hospital, especially in the case of emergency. Not sure what their understanding is when it comes to the word "emergency" when you're told you'll have to wait 3 hours for them to see a 1 year old because they thought 3 doctors is plenty to have on in a children's ward. Thankfully the nurses are caring.

I attended Monash Emergency Department on 2 separate days last week. The ambulances were ramped & the waiting room full. The nursing staff cared for patients waiting, doing obs, giving pain relief as needed. They were kind & patient despite the obvious pressure they were under.
The medical staff were also kind & all communication was clear. Everyone has adapted their approach to their work to suit the needs of an extremely busy department. I highly praise them.

Alot of work going on in main carpark. Work in progress I suppose. Kiosk was closed before 1pm. Very tight on visits since covid numbers have gone up again.

Monash Medical Centre is a fantastic hospital with first class staff. We are so lucky in Australia to have a wonderful health system that benefits every one of us. If you are truly sick it is the best place to be. Along with a dozen other public health facilities in Melbourne. My blood boils with the perpetual complaints from people waiting hours in ED. Complaining of waiting for scripts or medication or waiting for radiology. Yes it’s busy and yes you may have to wait, but let’s be grateful we have a public health system of the calibre we do in Australia. There are many places in the world where even basic health services are out of reach for some. Yet here, we do nothing but whinge. As for those who complain about waiting in ED…. Triage works. Unfortunately those waiting, can’t see what’s going on behind the scenes. If you arrive with a something that can be treated by a GP why come to ED? A little common sense goes along way.

Avoid this "hospital" at all costs.

I arrived at the ED via ambulance for a suspected stroke.

After 4-5 hours I was finally taken for a CT scan, blood tests and admitted to the ward. Honestly, after that length of time, any interventions for a stroke would be useless!

The nurse stated I only had a room because I had private health insurance.

There was terrible communication between staff, patients and NOK.

On multiple occasions my NOK tried contacting hospital staff, only to be met with very vague explanations. I was also told by the NUM they would arrange for the consultant in charge to contact my NOK, but that never happened.

Every morning I was told the Dr would come to see me, which never happened.

During this time I continued to have further “stroke-like” episodes. Where two MET calls were made. These were the only times I had been seen by a Dr.

On multiple occasions, I had requested to be transferred to a private hospital, which they would not facilitate. When I did ask the NUM, I was told I would need to discharge myself and go to another ED myself.

After four days, I finally had an MRI and I was told it was “just a migraine” and to see my GP to follow up.

I was in the process of being discharged and I had another acute migraine. During my discharge I was given no guidance on what to do, no medication and I once again did not see a Dr before I left the hospital. The nurse handed me my discharge certificate and a student nurse walked me to the elevator.

I was still so unwell, I spent a further week in another private hospital where I was admitted in less than an hour. I only wish I had left Monash sooner so my healing could begin.

Exceptional care & service. I think MMC staff and health professionals are going above and beyond. They are available, professional, very polite and kind. They do an incredible job to me.

Two words: Coroners Court

SECASA.

Where has your trauma-informed care gone? With all the good, ethical, professional, boundaried, experienced and skilled clinicians.gone (is that 44 staff in 1.5 years?) From an organisation that had a very low turn over of staff before. Says more than my review could ever say.

Yep! 44 skilled clinicians gone. And just a bunch of bullies and unskilled, unethical staff and leaders left.

Absolutely shameful, ignorant, negligent.more!

Have you ever heard of Standards of Practice? What about Codes of Ethics?

It would seem not.

Unless you want to come out of SECASA more traumaised than you went in, do NOT attend this service.

Disagree, Monash Health?

Try me.

Monash Health's Chief Medical Officer, CMO, calling an ex-client of a Monash Health community organisation on a Sunday during her leave to talk for 40 minutes is called "Damage Control".

This story will come out. My story will come out. Most probably in Coroners Court in 3 years time. Thank you for killing me, my soul, my spirit, breaking all my trauma work and my heart.

You do not deserve to exist as you are.

Family Safety Victoria and SASVic you have many things to answer too. Shame on all of you

Worst possible ED you can go to. No courtesy to even provide food. Sometimes it felt like they did not even care. Worst possible experience

Worst call operators ever. They are not polite at all and I wanted to know some information and the operator was so rude. She just questioned whether I was a doctor and then she said you can't just call and ask these services you need to call on operation hours. But on website it says 24 hours. So disappointing and it's hard for us to call during our work hours.

I would like to give a 5star review to Kate, the young lady who works as a nurse at level 5 at Monash hospital.
She was kind, took her time to understand me and she didn't judge my condition. A good idea is that she has a bright future with her outstanding service. Some of the older people that work there can take her as an example and learn manners from her
Also, Ben and Dr Hannah from emergency department were amazing so thanks guys.

Came into the ER having seizures. Waited 8 hours to be seen and people arriving after me were being seen first! When I finally spoke to a nurse, she was rude and dismissive. I got told to go home, that there's nothing that can be done. Absolutely ridiculous, I couldn't believe it.

So very impressed with the crew in Monash Health Imaging. All are stars, legends and obviously love what they do. The amount of care and empathy shown was outstanding. Especially Dr. Keung and the two adidas legends (you know who you are ️) and the ultrasound technician and Juliet who looked out for me after my procedure. You all ROCK!
