VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE FOOD SERVICE
I have been accommodated to the hotel for self-quarantined for 14 Days. I MUST say the Hotel is NOT capable of catering the food preferences which I filled in the form.
After repeatedly asking them to provide me the food of my preference no actions has been taken. This stay is funded by Govt.but there is NO ONE listening to us at the Hotel or Govt.side to address this.

The room was clean and tidy, had everything you would need. Reception staff friendly on check in and check out. Restaurant staff for breakfast not very friendly and the breakfast was poor quality. Pool area needed more chairs. Would stay again

My room (#210) did not have hot water.

The hotel was dark with a broken down lift and leaking water in the level 2 corridor.

So convenient to the theatre. Lots of eating, drinking & coffee options. Also close to convenience stores. Very comfy beds & pillows. Very quiet. Helpful, friendly staff.

Very nice looking hotel UNTIL you get into the rooms. Quite disappointing. Two old hard spring single mattresses put together to make a "queen" make it nearly impossible to be comfortable in the middle of bed. Accompanied by equally hard pillows that are also made with cheap cotton filling. The heating system is a joke. You have very little control over it, and then it doesn't even work anyways. The shower is open plan with no door, no drain on the floor so when you splash water on the floor you have to use the towels you need to off with to soak up all the water.
The only thing good with this hotel is the restaurant and the pool.

Room is comfortable, quiet. Bathroms however a poorly designed. There are no doors and water sprays all over the room. Pricy for what you get but good location.

I stayed at Grands Chancellor during my recent one day visit to Melbourne. It is usual for hotel to charge $1 reversible security deposit on check-in but at Chancellor I was charged $100 which I thought was steep and not suitable for tourists. Rooms are comfortable and spacious but it feels like the corridors leading up to the rooms are crammed and the rooms are close to each other. The hotel is located centrally in Melbourne so traveling from hotel is a non-issue. The location is actually very good. Will I stay here if I visit Melbourne again - probably not due to the reasons detailed in my review.

Currently staying here and as much as we did get a great deal in regards to price, I feel disappointed because it is very dated and the furniture is all chipped which made it look worse. I think your online photos don’t reflect the actual condition of your rooms. Location is great but would only stay here again if it was given a face lift.

Staff are amazing. They held our bags for us when we arrived early so we didn't need to carry them around the city. Upgraded our room free of charge. The buffet breakfast is great, so many options. It is close to everything in the city. Definitely reccomend everyone stay here

This hotel left a lot to be desired.

Pros
Great staff who offered a bottle of house wine for my birthday which was very sweet. Enjoyed the bed as it was extremely comfortable. The pool was the main reason I have booked this hotel and it was gorgeous for a late night / early morning swim - Great view of the surrounding buildings. We left on a Sunday and they had a Sunday late check out deal which was very convenient. $30 for an extra 4 hours - time for another swim, shower and nap!

Cons
We ordered room service in the evening and it arrived quickly which was great, however we unfortunately noticed the plate had old food at the bottom. The concierge apologized and blamed the dish washer and assured us that the top of the plate was clean. My partner didn't feel comfortable eating the food as she couldn't be confident that the plate had been cleaned properly. The curtains in the room didn't keep the light out and because you're in the heart of the city, it was quite bright. The bathroom sliding door wouldn't close without two people trying to shut it. There was also dust on the table legs and lamps, which also didn't restore our spirits on the cleanliness of the hotel. Breakfast was certainly not worth the $25 per person. The only decent item was the bacon and fruit - other cooked items tasted like they were rushed and soggy on the inside because they were still defrosting after being plated.

0 STARS IF I COULD This hotel I could not reccomend any less. Jessica Westbrook, duty manager was nothing but condescending and passive aggressive. I booked a hotel that I have stayed with various times around the country because i trusted the brand.nothing but let down.

Wouldn't waste my time staying here, no valet parking, haven't even got their own private car park place, got an agreement with a car park facility for only a few spots, if they allocated spots are full then they send u 2 another car park facility a half a block away & make u walk back to the hotel, you make a complaint to the front desk & they say not our problem, will b definately b telling my friends & family not to stay here what a joke of a hotel!

Stayed during busy Grand Prix weekend so expected standards might be pushed. - room was dusty and we had no towels. The balcony we paid extra for poked into a dingy alley with no light and would barely hold one person - so you could forget about evening drinks overlooking the street. What miniscule view we had at the end of the alley was of the building construction across the street. Disappointed.

Great price for the location!
Perfect if you're going to play/musical.
Customer service was over and beyond.
Room was spacious and clean.
Has an outdoor pool and a fitness center.
Definitely recommend!

Booked the site as it had on site parking (which I paid for) and a on-site restaurant. Restaurant was full and not able to cater for guests, and the carpark was full and I had to find my own spot elsewhere in the city. They offer parking and food, but can't back it up to all guests.

Small rooms, dark, very small windows and no light. Even the smell is bad, like cold tobacco. All seems outdated, corridors, rooms and bathrooms. Aircon system is noisy.

Good place to hold company meetings, conferences and training sessions. Well accessible via public transport (walkable distance from metro train station and tram network and bus stop just outside the hotel) and underground parking is also available.
