"Covid regulations" They served us our coffees in take away cups and made us sit at the back table with seats full of water that went down my partner's leg when he sat down. Terrible!

It was the first Saturday street lockdown restrictions were eased a bit so I wanted a restaurant with lots of space. I didn’t want to be bunched at the door. We got a nice table near the fire out the back and settled in for a nice meal. I had the Eggs Benedict (two poached eggs on southern style slow cooked pork shoulder with spinach, crusty ciabatta and béarnaise) which was totally delicious. Highly recommend this place if price isn’t your highest priority.

Such a fantastic vibe, incredible food & the staff are absolutely brilliant! Couldn’t recommend this place more; without doubt the best place for either food or drinks in the area.

Went with a few friends tonight to Goat House for some cocktails and dinner - it was super busy for a Tuesday night but we were lucky enough to be accommodated right next to the fire place! Food came and fast and cocktails were worth every cent. There was a large list of options and each one was as good as the last. Food as always was delightful.

Today we had a run in with Goat House owner/manager after his staff made two mistakes with our order. They took our order and forgot to put it in for 30 minutes and then one order was made incorrectly by the kitchen as we had asked for two items to be left out and they weren't, even though they were entered correctly by the staff. So we cancelled this incorrect order. The staff asked him if he would give us the 2 teas for free to say sorry but he didn't care that they had made mistakes, didn't want to give any compensation for 2 errors and then went on to swear at me and saying "I am f.g sick of dealing with YOU people and don't want you back". I felt sorry for the staff member as she tried to do the right thing and has to work for this guy who hasn't a clue how the manage a service organisation. He will get his wish, we won't be back for a very long time. Hopefully those who read this, especially US people, will vote with their feet.

Pretty poor experience with the food. For $36 you expect a decent steak dinner. This was not the case. The "truffle infused roast potatoes" were in fact potato wedges, not even cooked that well (a bit hard, not fluffy) and there was literally 5 of them on the plate, and they were small. Fairly certain they were frozen, might have even been Woolies or Coles homebrand. The stake was chewy and not well cooked at all. Lots of gristle on the cut that wasn't edible. Asparagus was the only well done thing, and how hard is asparagus to get right.

We also ordered a burger which was ok but not great. Pathetic amount of chips, and again the price was in the high $20's.

We ordered the exact same thing a couple of months ago and found the food to be great, so we know EXACTLY what we were fobbed off with tonight. Lockdown or no lockdown, that replacement food was pathetic.

The reason we didn't complain there and then, is because the wait staff seemed completely rushed off their feet and shouldn't have to deal with poor quality food served by the cooking staff. Our bill (including drinks for 2 people) was $130 for poor quality pub food.

Pretty annoyed with the poor food. As mentioned, having been semi regulars we are fully aware of the difference in what is served usually and what was served tonight presumably for all guests.

I absolutely love the food at the Goat House - they cater well for vegetarians as well with heaps of great options. The Avo breeze for breakfast is a must and I always enjoy all the food I eat here! The service is also amazing and I highly recommend eating here.

Food arrived at the table with my wife very quickly, the staff were also very Kind and welcoming

Lovely fire in the back with great Guiness so perfect for winter as well as a fantastic area out front with heaters. Easily one of my favourite places in Melbourne since I moved over

Good food, good cocktails and many choices of craft beer makes this place a "must to visit" in elsternwick!

Amazing ambience, great food and friendly service. Toilets looks aged, seems poor hygiene and in dire need of renovation. Our coffee was bad too, not sure if this was a rare incident or routine for them.

The owner just kicked me and my two clients out of this place. We were told that we had to Order food if we wanted a coffee. Although strange we agreed. We asked to order coffee first, then food. No was the answer. We then asked for a few minutes to decide. We opened our computers and the owner storms towards us very aggressively and kicks us out saying this is not an office. He then called the police for “disrespecting his restaurant “! Suffice to say we left and will never return. His restaurant is doomed to fail

Avoid this restaurant! Aggressive manager who throws people out and threatens to call the police when they open a laptop or don’t want a full meal. Go elsewhere!

This is a great venue, have been here a few times for drinks and also food - would recommend the lamb salad. It has a really nice vibe, lovely staff and has heaters outside for the colder months!

Back there yesterday for family birthday get together. Excellent food and service. We had two toddlers with us; staff very toddler-tolerant

Lovely modern venue with side windows that open completely onto an outdoor area adjacent a small reserve. Layout allows a wonderful Al fresco dining experience. Good food and drinks menu, at expected prices. Staff wonderfully attentive.

A very good bar with super friendly staffs & owner with reasonably prices bad foods, drinks & cocktails.

Great place to go. Friendly staff. Great with groups (allow bill splitting!) Good range of choices including vegan and GF.

This place is open, air movement a blessing and lay out is on point. My grilled chiken salad/watercress was divine and the staff were smiley/helpful which is far and few between these days. Parking on opposite side of the premises down side street YaY
