Coombe Yarra Valley

I was lucky enough to provide my DJ / MC Services at Coombe Estate in December 2020 and am very much looking forward to returning. This venue is absolutely breaktaking! The gardens and surrounding environment are perfect for your wedding or event photos.

Exceptional exciting thoughtfully designed food delivered In perfect proportions by one of the Yarra Valley’s most inspirational EC’s, Neil Cunningham. Neil takes calculated risks with food and flavour combinations all the while underpinning the menu with very comforting basics that always leave you feeling like you have experienced something new and challenging but at the same time tasty and sublimely satisfying. You certainly don’t have to be a “foodie” to appreciate Neil’s cooking but you will most certainly feel like one when you leave. Nobody does it better. Congratulations Neil on bring interesting food and flavours to everyone. Accessible international Hat standard food in a beautiful restaurant. 10/10.

Beautiful location, the food was decent but far from being high level.
The Coombe wine, was drinkable, but in line with the food quality.
The service was quite poor, communication was poor or nil, the staff was almost annoyed by each request we made and they kept forgetting to bring out meals or drinks.
I would suggest it for a high tea, but not for a lunch or dinner.

Went to a wedding a few weeks ago and 45 of the guests had very bad food poisoning with many ending up in hospital. The service was also horrible.

Great food, wine, atmosphere and service.it truly ticks all the boxes. The standard in the Yarra Valley is at an all time high and Coombe clearly takes nothing for granted. Can’t wait to go back.

Beautiful food and delicious wine. Service was also very professional. Just a bit disappointed to learn that there aren't any gardens on offer to diners, unless you managed to secure a garden tour booking. The lack of transparency about this online is deceptive and we would have chosen elsewhere, had we known as we had visitors from interstate and it was there one request. Shame.

Spent a fascinating hour viewing the garden of the cottage that Dame Nellie Melba had built for her to stay when she was in Melbourne. This was accompanied by an informative, personalised commentary from Daniel describing the history and life of Nellie Melba and her granddaughter Pamela, Lady Vesty. Highly recommended. Followed by a very enjoyable afternoon tea.

Had one of the best Antipasto's and superb sparkling whites in the relaxing outdoor environment of the Cellar Door section. Served by Kelly who is an absolute delight, the Cellar Door of Coombes is a hidden gem in the Yarra Valley.

Amazing dining experience! Very chic and modern restaurant with glass walls! Large mains and the dessert were superb! Will definitely recommend Coombe for special occasions.

Excellent food, chef looked after our tables pesky dietary needs with no problems, he didn't even make a face. Service was prompt and polite, and the wine tasting with Kelly was fantastic!

Wine was good but service can be improved. When paying, a short haired lady in a jacket threw $40 change on the table for me to pick up.

Lovely place with beautiful gardens, great wine and food. The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. A great place to spend an afternoon with good friends.

High quality food with a price tag to match. We had the Braised lamb for 2 and was beautifully cooked. Scones are a popular dish here and came out nice and warm, a bit crusty, with Raspberry jam.

Wonderful menu, staff and venue. Just beautiful. Our waitress Chris was very friendly and made the experience special.
Our garden tour was also interesting and informative.

Charged my credit card without my knowledge. Several staff provided misinformation about their membership, and made several promises they did not follow through with. Poor transparency and very poor customer service.

An average experience. Typically, during a wine tasting you get to learn about the wines produced by the winery to provide you with the context to compliment your tasting experience and to help you understand what sets this winery apart from others in the area. There was none of that here. If I had to do this again, I would skip this winery.

Beautiful place, delicious food, friendly and impeccable service. I had a very good time celebrating my partner's birthday at Coombe and definitely recommend the place to everyone.
