Machine Laundry Cafe

Super funky popular cafe down in Salamanca. Watch your clothes spin in the dryer while you eat brekky!

Unfortunately didn't live up to the reviews. Tables were sticky, coffee was only meh- very small, not really hot (tepid actually), though ok in strength and flavour.

Unfortunately, I don't think this place lived up to the hype of previous reviews, and that's what took us there. The staff really weren't overly welcoming or attentive and the food and coffee wasn't great at all. I won't be recommending it to anyone visiting Hobart.

Great cafe food. Had eggs royale, great sour dough, absolutely delicious. The brioche french toast was great too.

Visited from Melbourne for the weekend and honestly one of the best cafe experiences I've ever had. The savoury pancakes were awesome, coffee was the best we had in Tassie and service was top-notch.

What a ridiculous place! Went there to get laundry done and have some lunch. We didn't even stay for food because most of the laundry machines and driers were out of order and the one machine that would fit our laundry could only do a warm cycle. But no one there, not one staff member, was able to tell us how warm that would be and we had delicates as well.

Stay away if you want to have actual laundry done.

Great atmosphere, fun music, quick service, friendly staff. Delicious food with yummy vego options, decent coffee. All round great experience, highly recommended!

Disappointed in the coffee selection. Food cafe with really high prices- doesn't seem to be the highest quality. Eclectic vibe with actual washing machines in the place. A bit of a grunge feel with nothing really special besides the eclectic nature of the place.

They have great gluten free bread, the staff are really friendly and service is fast! My go to cafe whenever I'm in Hobart.

Loved this place! Great atmosphere and food. I like that you can order smaller portions for $2 less as everything was generously sized. The staff seemed happy and would smile while interacting with customers.

Disappointing experience. The waitress who served us was grumpy and seemed as though she didn't want to be there; grunting and mumbling her responses to us. Furthermore, the blueberry frangipane tart I ordered was quite burnt, but I didn't even dare to complain about it due to the already-poor attitude of the waitress. I've had good experiences at Machine in the past but today left me unmotivated to return.

Food was excellent bit of an odd range but works well. For those reading this is actually a coin laundry as well as a cafe like the name describes. The staff were incredibly happy to be there except one moody staff member who was less than friendly to myself and other patrons, this would have been a 5 star review if not for her

Service & food were excellent! My only issues were the flies inside and a baby with an ear piercing scream right behind us. Of course not the establishment's fault. We'll be back

Very funny experience, my mum ordered an ice espresso but didnt want ice cream, so she asked for just a ice espresso and got a plain shot with ice lol she then was too embarrassed to ask again as my sister was nervous, I had a blast.

I’ve just had brekkie here, and am posting instead of chatting to my friend because it’s too noisy to talk, the music is crazy loud inside, and reverberating badly due to lots of concrete. Food was satisfactory but not great. Portions were big. I think we would have had a much better experience if we sat outside where it is quieter. Coffee about 7/10.

Excellent brunch spot with outdoor seating. We had the machine packed roti bread and the parmesan, caramelised onion and spinach pancakes. Both were delicious, but the pancakes were by far our favourite. Excellent coffee as well.

Great cafe we enjoyed before attending the Salamanca markets. The breakfast menu was your typical brekky fair. We had a smoked salmon with ricotta and a poached egg. Tasty

I went there thought it’s a laundry themed cafe, but it’s actually a laundry and a cafe side by side.having said that scramble egg was really good

The fatboy and peanut satay sauce are amazing.

Great cafe in a great location.the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing, great place to have brunch, will definitely be coming back next time I am in Tassie
