Machine Laundry Cafe reviews
83We visited this café during our cruise stop, eager to support local business for breakfast! The staff were welcoming and friendly, which was a plus. However, our overall dining experience fell short of expectations. The coffee was decent, but the food was a letdown. The poached eggs had an overpowering vinegar taste, that seeped into the bread and the sandwich - filled with bacon, cheddar, and greens - was unexpectedly sour, leaving me to only eat the bacon. This was quite disappointing, especially after reading several positive reviews.
Enjoyed breaky while we waited for our laundry. We had the fat boy and parmesan, caramelised onion and spinach pancakes. Delicious food and big servings! Definitely recommend
So noisy at this place. The waitress who served us was lovely young person. She made a mistake with my order & owned up & apologised, which was awesome. It didn't worry me as we all make a mistake sometimes. The issue was, I went to pay & the staff member at the register tried charging me for that meal I didn't order & didn't believe me when I told her what happened. Not keen on going back there, just too loud.
I ordered a coke. They brought out a cola that I'd tried before and knew that I didn't like. When I said "oh sorry, I ordered a coke", they told me this was the only cola they had. I said I didn't like that one could they take it back, not only did the refuse, one of the staff by the door made a grant gesture of scoffing as if I'd asked the most ridiculous question in the world. She was incredulous for all further interactions with out table. Disgusting behaviour from service staff. In the end they refused to refund me for an item I didn't order or consume.
Not a lot of options on a Hobart public holiday but glad to have discovered this cafe in the absence on my favourite. Awesome chilli jam roti wrapped scrambled eggs and coffee
Below average all day breakfast experience.
Heard great things, but I had a shocker!
The tea was okay, food ingredients seemed of decent quality, but the kitchen poorly executed cooking and presenting the meal.
My breakfast items were sitting in a watery, soupy mess on the plate and I had to ask for a clean plate to transfer my food out of it.
Please drain the mushrooms, poached eggs and spinach before placing on the plate so it does not resemble food sitting in soupy dishwater minus the detergent. (Unfortunately that is what it looked like to me and it was an unpleasant eating experience).
You are getting two stars because I do not want to be mean.
I gave polite constructive feedback and know you can do better.
Cool cafe with an interesting menu. Great vibe. Good coffee. Decent food. Not the greatest laundromat, only 3 of 6 washing machines and 2 of 6 dryers working. Dryer didn’t get amazingly hot. If you buy a coffee they can give you coins and just charge it to your card kinda thing
Busy. Long waits for service. Food was good at best. Coffee was tepid/warm - although it was a good tasting bean (would have loved a hot second cup). We were not made to feel comfortable as customers at all. From the moment we walked in till the moment we paid the over priced bill.
Location only does walk-ins (no bookings) even for large groups. So if you have a group or are on. A time crunch have a backup. The gimmick of the location was cute but doesn’t add to the dining experience. Staff service once seated was great. Food arrived as ordered and they split bills.
This place is so cool and quirky, the food is massive and the staff are wonderful! Definitely is a must visit!
Quaint little place - laundromat plus cafe. Great interesting food and fantastic coffee! Portion of food is decent as well. Place is crowded but the turnaround is relatively quick and we had to wait only 5 mins on a busy Sunday morning. Highly recommended!
Nicest staff, super friendly. Delicious breakfasts every time and amazing coffee. Our go to whilst in Hobart for breakfast. Only place we eat at for breakfast. Seriously delicious. Can not more highly recommend and will continue to do so. Thank you all for breaking the fast.
It's nice to be able to "kill two birds with one stone" have breakfast and do my laundry.
Staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast and coffee was great.
Would give 6 stars if I could.
Great service only surpassed by the coffee
Not to mention how good the food was. Would definitely recommend
I can’t visit Hobart without breakfast here.
Funky decode, great menu, and a strong contender for Australia’s best eggs Benedict. Thick cut sourdough, bacon, perfectly poached eggs, and a sublime hollandaise sauce. Add a side of caramelised spinach, and you won’t be disappointed.
Friendly service. Great coffee. Brewed chai is fabulous. We come here often and it is fairly consistent. Great portions. Great atmosphere.
Unique combination between laundry and cafe. Good breakfast menu and decent coffee. Good place if you want some quick meal while in salamanca market.
But disappointing yesterday. Only went for a sneaky coffee with my husband. Ordered X1 latte and 1 large flat white. Out came 2 large flat whites. I explained mine was a latte, and the waitress tried to tell me it was the same just in a mug. Sigh. She eventually offered to change it, but I felt like I was being too fussy. Standards slipping. Didn't order a mug, but got charged anyway just to top off the incorrect coffee.
A salamanca institution. Great cafe. Good coffee, delicious food. Quite a funky vibe and I think it's even an operational laundrymatte? Hence the name.
This is a great place to start your day If you're in the area, and know where to find it.
I found this Cafe a amazing place to visit. Great coffee the atmosphere was spacious and bright.
Staff friendly and made you feel welcome and food divine.
