Machine Laundry Cafe reviews
83The food was very nice, beautifully cooked and presented. Besides that, the staff was very welcoming.
Came after recommendations from a friend.
Service was good, seated pretty quickly and food was served quite quickly as well. Extremely friendly staff which is always good to see.
Ordered a cappuccino which was ok, a light roast so a recommend double shot for anyone who likes their coffee strong.
Ordered the packed roti with scrambled eggs. Average taste, the eggs and roti didn't have much flavour, flavour mostly came from the sweet chilli jam/sauce. The roti was quite tough to cut through.
Overall, an ok experience.
I really tried to like this place given all the good reviews but their "signature" Machine packed Roti bread was inedible. Maybe bland scrambled eggs encased in a wet wrap is your thing, but I couldn't stomach more than a few bites. The "chilli jam" was essentially a honey syrup with bits of chopped up red thai chilli's in it and there was SO much that it just made the whole dish sickly sweet. It was a fair serving size if you can eat it all, although for $17 I would've much rather have just gone to the local bakery. If you're dead set on this place, avoid the Roti and try the sandwiches instead as they were actually pretty decent (bread is from Pidgeon Whole Bakers up the road which is always a winner)
Nice lunch place, great coffee.
Waiting time is reasonable, friendly staff.
Great menu, freshly made snacks, meals.
Healthy options.
Possibly the best muffins in the southern hemisphere! Great coffee too. Generous meal serves add extra value.
Great spot for breakfast. Ordered eggs Benny and ricotta hotcakes. Very tasty. Hope to be back again soon.
My heart feels for people who work here mayhem of a café, complete chaos. Absolutely ruined my breakfast by how loud it was … food ok, good quantity
How good is this place! Perfect for travellers. Grab a healthy breakfast or light lunch, while doing a quick load of laundry.
Food was beautiful! Be sure to ask for a small serve, as the meals are HUGE.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Best cafe I've found in Hobart after several days of research. Great setting, generous breakfast serves, enthusiastic and friendly service.
A brunch place that serves steak knives alongside sourdough will always get 5 stars in my book. Thom’s thing avocado smash was next level! Love the retro furniture too
Never can get enough of this place. We visit each time we're lucky enough to get to Hobart and it's ALWAYS excellent. Gr8 coffee, gr8 food, gr8 service.
This place has really gone downhill. It used to be a Hobart institution but now it terrible. Bad service.
Great local café with good vibes. Friendly staff and nice location. You can shout and watch the locals play chess on the giant outdoor board; or simply get your knickers washed and dried in the laundry facilities! Indoor and outdoor seating. I would recommend their savoury muffins - not of the fainthearted.yum!
Great food, their eggs are great and their hollandaise is amazing. The iced chocolate was a disappointment, but overall a very positive experience
I've had some pretty terrible food here in Hobart but I have to say this place deserves more than 5 stars. The staff were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was upbeat and most importantly the food was amazing. I would highly recommended.
Very retro and cool. The food was great had the Fat boy for a late breakfast give it a crack it was great!
Tasmania trip (last minute as usual due to ever changing covid restrictions). Breakfast at @machinelaundrycafe - not many options around for breakfast on boxing day, but luckily they were open! Lovely food and an interesting space! Lots of people with dogs too.
.
Machine packed roti bread: with scrambled eggs and chilli jam. This is one of their signature dishes - nicely done. The roti was good, and the eggs were tasty. Can't complain!
.
The old new egg dish: scrambled eggs with feta, garlic sourdough, beetroot relish, crispy pancetta. Delicious scrambled eggs! Adding the pancetta is a must.
Unreal food. Thom's thing (smashed avo and chickpeas on sourdough with fried halloumi) was absolutely delicious and so fresh, but the clear star of the show was the fat boy roti, which was a chicken, bacon and lettuce-filled roti wrap covered in satay sauce. Truly amazing food and not to be missed on any visit to Hobart!
Staff & manager/owner are very friendly and helpful. Don't overload the laundry because we did and it didn't clean properly during the 25min cycle. It was very fast. Took one star off for that.
Great place to stop by for brekkie or an after-lunch coffee+cookie. I’m a fan of their homemade chilli jam sauce. All dishes I’ve tried have been impeccable.
