Machine Laundry Cafe reviews
83Great food and a very shiny laundry. Underground parking at $3 per hour. Two double loads, some drying and lunch, ~$5 for 90 min parking. Cafe is right next to car park door.
Dirty kitchen if you cannot see how is your food prepared. It is amazing this place can trade in Salamanca heart of Hobart city. The owner is very rude and arrogant. We were seating for breakfast and had a complaint about a dirty dark hair on the pancakes. He took the plate without an apology, but offended look. Next a waiter comes to tell us our bill is to be paid at the counter! The tiny dirty kitchen is behind the counter so you can see.if you want to eat here. The owner said "you are good to go! He did charged for pancakes and treated us with complete disrespect. Must certainly we will never return.
Hands down the best cafe in Hobart. I don't know why anyone would complain about portion sizes being big? ! Go there with an appetite or order the smaller serves are offered for most meals. The staff is always friendly and food is consistently good. Highly recommend the Fat Boy. Yum!
Loved this local recommendation! Clearly a favourite as it was pumping! Coffee was on point and delicious scrambled. Staff were lovely and good tunes for a Saturday morning!
Had breakfast at this place yesterday.the food and coffee was good with a bit of rudeness added by staff first thing in the morning,
Two of the staff members were so rude.i asked a few extra questions and they got frustrated and sarcastic.wont go back to the place again, such a shame as the food was so good.
What a gem. They even made the banana milkshake with real bananas. No wonder it is popular with the locals and it is next to a giant chessboard and area where the kids can play a little.
Great atmosphere and vibe. If anyone is going, just be wary that the portions are large and could be shared between two, in addition to being very rich in flavour (not a bad thing)
Most delicious pancakes (hotcakes) I’ve ever had. Coffee, bread and service … all as good as it gets.
Purposely came back to Hobart to return to this cafe! Such delicious food, very generous proportions, great coffee and super lovely staff!
Liked what I ordered but imho would have tasted way better without the sugary stuff on this dish. Apart from that, the coffee was great, portion size was worth the $ and location was convenient right behind the salamanca market.
I arrived right before the crowd started coming but with their outdoor space it was no problem. If you want or need a laundromat, you are in the right place too!
We just visited Hobart and Machine Laundry Cafe was our go-to each morning for coffee.
Every day we were greeted with friendly conversation and a genuine interest in what we were getting up to around town.
If we’re ever back in Hobart, we’ll be back. Thanks for your hospitality and great coffee
Best coffee out of a bowl I've ever had! Honestly though, incredible coffee, food and service. I hear you can also do your laundry here.
Very happy with a Wonderful brunch.
The service was fast and friendly and the food is good and wholesome. Well priced and Yummy.
Coffee was quite good and the choice of indoor or outdoor was pleasant.
It was truly disgusting!
I couldn’t even eat half of my plate.
The only good thing was their chai.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Love this place especially for brunch. My favourite is the Roti with scrambled eggs and chilli jam, it's delicious! This place gets very busy but caters a variety of customers. It also has a life size chess set nearby to entertain the kids
The food is outstanding! The menu hasn’t changed much in over 20 years but take that as a testament to how good it is. It was amazing then when Machine first opened and is is still amazing now. Coffee is nice but the real winner is the food.
Staff were nice, the place was crowded and loud (though that's not surprising for the space). Low stars because the coffee tasted bitter and burnt.
REALLY RUDE staff, charged us for two items we didn't order and it was a huge deal to simply refund us their error. Food was pretty good, but coffee came out a lot later almost as we were ready to leave, we thought they had forgotten it to be honest.
Don't appreciate a business where the staff yell at you across the whole restaurant as you leave the building. Wouldn't reccomend.
Food was great, service was good. But the whole experience was let down by laziness. It's 2019, it's not hard to split a bill and most people don't carry cash. Disappointed, would have liked to come back.
A lot of fun visiting for breakfast and a coffee. Aside from the quirky and interesting idea of merging a laundromat and cafe the coffee was superb. I loved sitting back in the vibrant Salamanca Place enjoying a delicious hot brekky. It is worth mentioning how attentive and friendly the staff are and helpful for us holidayers!
