Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston reviews
88Tidy room, average customer service. In room appliances are limited. Could have clearly labelled which were complementary.
Location was great, within walking distance to some great restaurants. Rooms were quite outdated and old.
Stayed at the Hotel Grand Chancellor for work, very pleasant staff, food is amazing and rooms comfortable. Would highly recommend.
Way too much noise from venue next door and our room was directly opposite the lifts, also ppl running up and down the corridor
Cosy lovely room, close to everything. Costs $6 per day to park on site. Explored Launceston, and used the room for wine drinking and recovery. Nice!
Hotel had a lovely old world charm about her and room was as expected after our stay in her sister hotel in Hobart. Can't say the same for the gentleman on concierge that evening. No smile upon greeting us, no offer of a 2nd room key, no information provided on accessing Wifi. My partner and I walked away thinking the guy had attitude. Very unlike the staff greeting us in Hobart Oh and no one in sight to assist with our luggage upon arrival.
Room was clean. The staff were friendly. But the hidden costs were terrible. $6 for parking, $2.50 credit card charge, $6.50 for a bottle of water! No Foxtel, just tv.and had to pay for movies ($15.95) I won’t be staying again. The towels were small, no robes. Payed $148 for the room and booked directly. No complimenty tea or coffee? Had room service. The food was great. However I have stayed in better places in LAUNCESTON.
A comfortable and well-equipped hotel room. The function rooms are great, and the staff very obliging and friendly.
Hotel Grand Chancellor is an immaculate hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I attended a work function recently and the staff and the room were in perfect condition
Room was clean, seemed a little dated but it was probably just the aesthetic. Good location in centre of the city.
The hotel is nice enough, but it lacks some basic logical thought. Sure, my room had a kettle and an iron, but the electrical sockets are hidden under cabinetry, so to make a cup of coffee or iron a shirt requires crawling around to find a plug. Then, the iron was dirty and I used a pillow case to iron, out of fear of destroying my shirt.
While it appears to have some facilities for business use this place needs a serious update on its room.
Spent two weekends in a row at the hotel and found it a tidy well located place with great staff! Highly recommended
Central to town and well set out. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Reception was friendly and easy to deal with. Car parking is not free on site and while only $6 still a bit stiff to guests.
Great place great service, great food, great value, stayed on top floor great views of city the beds are 10/10
Room was very outdated but bathroom was really modern. Staff were nice, however wished they had told us their was a fun run starting at 10am and we would have to wait an hour to get our car out!
Awesome hotel & so cheap! Buffet Breakfast is on the pricey side, but well worth it. Really nice, quality food. Hotel is central to everything. NO free parking? Although, compared to Brisbane, $6 a day is pretty good.
The noise from Tradesmen all afternoon made it impossible to relax. It would have been great to be told there would be drilling for 3 hour straight directly above my room. I could have rearranged my schedule. Poor management of maintenance advice.
I would like
To express my disappointment in the accommodation.
We have come to Launceston for a relaxing holiday and the accommodation is by far very poor and dirty.
The air con was a portable air con unit, the shower was dirty and the bed is like a rock.
And my wife come across a dirty toilet brush in the hallway of the accommodation.
Stay away from this dump
All they offered us is a crumby room upgrade and two drinks.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
