Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston

1.) Our bathroom is flooding when you take a bath and going out of the door all through out the carpet, I told the receptionist about it and ask her to call some cleaner or maintenance to fix it then and she told me that she doesn't have access to our room I got upset because she's not a total help and told me that she can't change our room cause we're leaving the following day (terrible customer service) when in fact I'm not asking for a change of room.
2.) On our 2nd day the carpet was never vacuum by the cleaning staff.

I am giving 1* for the very nice restaurant staff/crew service.

Had my birthday dinner at the Avenue restaurant was fantastic. Love the atmosphere of this gorgeous restaurant
The food was 5 star. The meal massive
I could only eat half of mine as so full. Great night with great service. Very impressed

We love it here the room's are always clean and fresh. The breakfast is very nice and we are close to everything. Staff are good as well. Alway's happy to help

Furniture in living area stained and putrid. Breakfast buffet food Luke warm. No testing of temperature of food in the time we were there. Management tried to say it was the pattern of the furniture. It was disgusting! I don’t think I can attach photos? Wish I could. It was a one bedroom suite with substandard lounge furniture.

I am very disappointed with the furniture in the room. Sofa was pretty old and dirty. Chair in the room was also looking bit ripped from one of the cornor. There were pretty less variety of food at the buffet.
I have tried all the grand chancellor in other states but this was bad. I am not going there again.

It is very good as a budget hotel. My room had updated bathroom (star), the breakfast is (3 star) but the restaurant staff is 5 stars, amazing.

I have stayed at hotel Grand chancellor in Launceston twice now, and both times I've been up half the night listening to people yelling, slamming doors, banging on walls and running up and down the hallways. You can hear everything that goes on in rooms next door and hallways. We also had our toddler with us who found a bottle top from the previous customers left on the floor in plain sight, so cleanliness was a worry.

Just wanna say how fantastic was the banquet are, especially Rhea she was absolutely adorable and helpful! Keep smiling you did a great job

Lovely old hotel. Staff were friendly. Great location close to City Park and markets across the road on a Saturday. Room was spacious.

Nice enough hotel. Bathroom is newly renovated. Haven't seen mission Brown gloss paint before. Interesting choice. Bed was comfortable. Staff were okay. Hot food for breakfast is not out until 6.30 which was a bit late for us.

Looked good in some places but there were somethings that were bad such as the oldness of the tv most buttons didn't work properly like the volume button
The beds were a little bit too hard the pillows felt cheap still not that bad, also the bell near by starts ringing every 15 minutes and because of that a fell asleep quite late

I chose the hotel for my husband birthday trip and asked them please provide us a room with great view. Then we entered the room, there was a birthday plate with chocolate and strawberries for my hubby. We were suppressed by their service. He looked really happy and I was happy. Thank you so much for wonderful surprise. We really enjoyed the stay.

A really nice hotel. We got a superior room and it was wonderful: very spacious, a king size bed, and very neat. Everything we needed was in place.
And it's good location. Close to bars & restaurants, and only 2 minutes from City Park. Oh, and there's a nice market across the street on Saturday mornings which has some great stuff.

Lovely hotel with friendly professional staff. It was clean and well presented with a bit of old world charm. It was close to the CBD and had parking.

Stayed here with my partner and 10 week old son for our first family trip away from Hobart. At first it was a good experience. My partner took her Tiffany and co earrings out and say them near the bathroom sink as she does every night. The next morning our son was a little unsettled and we were rushing to check out in time. Finally all checked out and all in all thought we had a nice night away. Popped into Evandale markets where my partner noticed she had left her earrings on the sink. She was quite upset because they were a present from her late grandmother and she wears them everyday. We went to turn around and return to get them. We phoned ahead and let them know what had happened and they said the room had not been cleaned yet. We were then told that there’s no need for us to come back as they would just post the earrings. This seemed so helpful and we were very grateful. We later got a call saying the room was cleaned and there were no earrings. I explained that the earrings were 100% on the counter in the bathroom and as they were an expensive pair of earrings with great emotional value could they please make sure the cleaner did not take them or misplace them. We did not get a call back so my partner called again very upset and before she could even finish her sentence about the earrings the person on the phone rudely cut her off and said the room is clean.
We understand that it was our fault for rushing and leaving them there but we were willing to drive back as they have great value to my partner. Then to be rudely cut off and spoken to the way my partner was is disgusting. She was clearly upset and hoping to find the earrings

Located easy walking distance to CBD. Clean, comfortable. Loved the arm chairs in the room and the enormous bathroom. Excellent full breakfast in the restaurant.

Lovely old world hotel, large rooms with windows that open. Lovely helpful staff, nice bar and restaurant. Percect location in the centre of Launceston CBD.

Unfortunately I was disappointed about many aspects of the hotel. Few years ago we visited the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Palm Cove and we've been very happy over there. Not the same here. Not going to stay at this one again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Worst hotel ever! I’ve written a list to keep it clear and concise.
1. EVERY room is lacking in central heating/cooling. Instead your given a R2D2 that sits in the corner and runs like a two stroke engine which obviously allows you a sleep like your on a cloud
2. There’s more water pressure in the sink than the shower.
3. A late checkout of 11.will cost ya $20.4. A bottle of water will set you back more than a cup of coffee.
5. The place was decorated by the first settlers.
6. The windows don’t even open so you may call for help from the street or to warn others not to enter.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights here. Good food at the restaurant and great prices for happy hour. Will stay again.
