Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston reviews
88Bit rough.hair on floor as well as ceiling.office chair has stuff all over it hasn't been cleaned.booked for 3 people but only 2 towels
I have booked king executive room for 1 night. There are few issues,
1. There is a portable air conditioner in the room. (No any split system). Its so noisy at night and didn't come cool air.couldn't even sleep at night.
2. TV is more than 30 years old for sure. It's almost black and white. There is nothing to watch.tried to watch a movie but they asking $15.99 for one movie.
However, morning breakfast was enjoyable.but
I would never ever book here. Worst experience ever.
Decent rooms, room service interrupted me twice when I had a note saying not too, besides that, great room service and great shops and restaurants/cafe’s near.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Buffet was horrible and waited forever for anything to be replaced.
The portable air con os a appalling and disgraceful. So loud you can’t sleep.
Only gave 2 stars because the place was clean and staff were polite and helpful.
Room was comfortable and there was plenty of space. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, the air conditioning system was DREADFUL. It was so loud and sounded like a train was in the room.
This was a fantastic hotel, the staff were very friendly, food was great and rooms were clean, I will definitely be staying here again when in Launceston
First time book this hotel through Booking.com. I want to see the difference between 2 starts and the 4 stars, so I came across to The grand chancellor. I arrived 2: 30pm at the reception, the lady were polite but to charge$100 extra for those who carry only debit card, and just $1 to credit card is not reasonable enough. I could say that the boutique hotel I have booked in Launceston for $80+/ night never asked me this question. The room is clean and not as big as I expected, no room's slippers provided, air-conditioning were too loud. To be honest, I think the 4-5 stars hotel could be better than 2 stars hotel. In my opinion, I like the boutique hotel more.
Very happy with accommodation and service. Our room was spotless. Room service was good and when we went down to the restaurant, the food and service was excellent. We had a wonderful stay.
Was disappointed that there was no pool. Was told at reception that no hotels in Launceston have a pool. Would be better if the rooms had a microwave as there is plenty of room.
Executive suite, just a normal room with a fancy title nothing Executive about it, portable air conditioning a joke, TV remote broken, no catalogue or any such information on surrounding areas, and parts of breakfast missing on 2 occasions even though menu, s filled out.
Room had not been serviced properly, was not clean. Overcharged, questioned and made to feel that I was in the wrong by staff as the manager attempted to correct their error and do a refund. Would NEVER recommend this hotel.
Rooms are a lot nicer than the charmed exterior suggests. Breakfast was beautiful with large servings and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms Manager Priscila was brilliant went we needed something sorted.
Great central place to stay. Hasn't changed much in 15 years, great bathroom upgrade in our room though. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good variety of choices for room service. Breakfast choices also very good. Can recommend it.
Portable airconditioning unit very noisy. Not sure why there was a portable unit. Made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Unfortunate as room was clean and tidy.
Decent stay but no built in air conditioning so was quite loud. Bed was comfortable. Biggest problem no free parking $6.00 for a night. Wouldn't pay to stay again.
Very well positioned hotel. Has plenty of parking and is very well maintained. The rooms could use a bit of an upgrade in regards to the bathrooms and beds.
Location is great. Within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Room was clean, bathroom clean, parking is only $6 a day and wifi is free. The hotel from the outside is really vintage looking so expect a vintage interior style of the hotel and rooms. Customer service could be better. Would recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to stay in.
Location is good, rooms are a bit old (not built for hot days) but nice and service listened to our requests.
Room and bathroom was clean. Comfortable beds. Good customer service. Ordered breakfast for one but enough for 4 of us. Free wifi with good speed. Overall happy with service.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant food is great, however the rooms need a little modernization. The air conditioning leaves a strange smell in the room.
