Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour

Such a fun place to stay. Free bar fridge and awesome happy hour makes it feel like the hotel isn't trying to pick your pocket!

Stayed at Ovolo 188 on the weekend of August 25th. I have been to so many different hotels around the world and I have to say this hotel is THE BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed in!

First off, the convenient car park right across the hotel made it very easy for us to drive in. What’s even better is they have a discount price to actually park there!

Secondly, the staff were state of the art, passionate, hilarious and most of all extremely professional! Ovolo 188 HR team NEEDS to be applauded for their amazing selection in staff!

Thirdly, the room was incredible. Not the biggest room I’ve stayed in but did not feel cramped whatsoever. Perhaps if you are looking for space then you need to stay in one of the bigger rooms but for me it was perfect. What they didn’t have in size, they made up in luxury. Every room has an ALEXA, the bed felt like heaven and the robes felt so soft. We had a FREE minibar & FREE goodies just by staying at the hotel - where do you get that around the world? IN SYDNEY!

Moreover, there was a toilet malfunction in the room and when we told reception, you’d never believe it - the incredible desk staff were TRAINED in fixing basic plumbing problems. This means we didn’t have to wait and in 2 minutes our toilet was fixed. That was fantastic!

Customers who book directly with Ovolo 188 also get free happy hour including alcoholic drinks & canapés. Delicious declicious! We had dinner at the new Mister Percy restaurant. What an amazing range of Mediterranean food. SO HEALTHY AND DECLICIOUS! And amazing pricing! This restaurant belongs in a kings palace!

Honestly, I could go on and on but then this would be an essay no one would read. But we also had complimentary breakfast in the morning, the staff went above and beyond in every way, shape and form and I will definitely be back here as much as I can!

Really great, friendly, comfortable little hotel. Heaps of little differences to make it more welcoming than others. From friendly staff and modern fitout, to free minibar/snacks, apple TV, and breakfast included. Amazed it isn't super expensive! Will definitely stay again.

A really beautiful hotel, which is built inside a preserved building that used to be a warehouse. Rooms are small but are well equipped and feel cozy. Service is great. The free minibar and loot bag are really fun and a great surprise

Ovolo hotels have nailed it with this hotel. It is fun and funky, centrally located without being in too busy an area. The breakfast buffet is great, and the mini bar and snack bag in the room is a cool touch. I love the addition of an Amazon Alexa assistant in the room that is connected and can play music or tell me the time on command.
The staff are attentive without being pushy and the rooms are neat and comfy.
Ovolo hotels really are of the 21st century and I only hope they continue to do what they do and move ahead with the times as technology and innovation moves.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in. The location on Darling Harbour is convenient. It's near enough to the Fish Market and walkable (30 mins) to Circular Quay, the Rocks and Sydney Opera House. Every guest gets a loot bag which is filled with snacks. This is a great idea, everyone loves tasty freebies. The mini bar is replenished everyday as well as the Nespresso capsules. We'll be back again. Keep it up!

This place rocked. I’d begun making the switch to Airbnb before staying here. But this place is next level. Great food, free minibar, free happy hour, awesome toiletries, fantastic service, happy staff. The rooms are fresh and it’s super convenient to Darling Harbour and the ICC. Will stay again!

Stayed in the shaker room, fantastic atmosphere and decor. Only slightly dampened by ongoing construction 9/10 would stay again.

The place was in renovation when we stayed there. Looked like it had been hit by a bomb. Rooms are small which makes you want to hang out in the common areas but due to reno, it wasn't possible. The workers worked until late in the evening which made it unbearable. My girlfriend had booked this hotel which turned out to be a complete disappointment.
Staff were not helpful in making the situation better for us.

Third time here! This was the hotel that converted us to Ovolo lovers! Whenever we travel now we check for an Ovolo! Great staff here, rooms are great (even the tiny ones). We flew in from overseas early in the morning and they helped us into a room ASAP! Thankful for dining choices, snacks, happy hour, and breakfast options! It’s our #1 choice

This place is everything a hotel should be. All the other reviews are spot on we shall certainly be returning and we never do that!

Amazing customer service. Sooo many freebies. The rooms were really nice. Very comfortable bed. Nice touch with the Apple TV and Amazon Alexa in every room.

Friendliest and most accomodating staff we've met on our Australian holiday. Amenities (free mini bar, happy hour canapes, continental breakfast, candy) were a happy surprise. Location is convenient to Darling Harbour, and about 30 minute walk to Harbour Bridge or Victoria building (shopping). Rooms are not huge but have everything you need (plus Alexa and an iPad!).

Highly recommend! Warm welcoming and stylish. Love the characters of the building and rooms, blending the old with the new. Service is incredible and good value for money with free mini bar and snacks provided for your stay. Its the attention to detail and little surprises that sets Ovolo apart. I’ll be coming back.

Disappointing hotel. Definitely not a four star. The location is not great. You have to cross a parking structure to get to the light rail. Room is small. Breakfast included for free is pretty bad and they meanwhile sell the real breakfast. Not recommended at all. Not worth the high price.

Stayed here for my anniversary and I couldn’t find any faults about this place. This refurbished heritage building is absolutely gorgeous! The interior is modern with a hip, urban twist. Kind of bummed I didn’t take photos of the place! 10/10 Would definitely be back here
