Dead Ringer reviews
87Great dining experience - the feed me menu was delicious with just the right amount of food, and the service was friendly and attentive. A real Sydney gem.
Exquisite food & service. The brunch set menu is a great option for a sharing-style feast that's easy to split and accommodate different drinking preferences (expect to walk away filling very full & content). The stractiatella and charred peach was a favourite, alongside the slow cooked chicken.
The staff were also impeccable. Sally - personally reaching out to check for any dietary requirements ahead of time + helping make last min adjustments to the booking. The rest of the team continued to charm on the day with warmth and attentiveness. Already thinking about when I'll be back!
The service & flow of alcohol was nice. Food was super underwhelming. It was my partners birthday with a group of 13 people, our group was sat across 2 different tables when they could've easily been joined, which kind of ruined the vibe. There was a random table with people in between us which just didnt make sense. Wouldn't go here again.
We came here for our anniversary and had the Feed Me option. The food was amazing and was the perfect way to enjoy the best flavours on offer. The sticky date pudding was a highlight!
Our waiter Matthew was a professional - providing advice on drink options to suit the mood whilst also minimising interruptions so we could enjoy our night. Highly recommend!
We booked this place for a birthday dinner of a big meat eater. Ordered the Gnocchi (vegan) which was wonderful. At the end of the dinner, was informed that the Chocolate Mousse can be made vegan which meant we could all share one. So ordered one and the waiter was really nice to put a candle, too.
Booked online and the website assured that the table would be covered and heated. There was no heating when we arrived and it was terribly windy. Told the waiter we'd rather go somewhere else and he said he totally understood and they would release our booking. But we ended up getting flagged as 'no show' and charged a $100 later! Called the restaurant a couple of times to request a refund but the manager never called me back. Definitely not the greatest experience.
Open on a Monday. We ate the set menu. Totally delicious and well styled and cooked to perfection. Divine scallops and the steak was fantastic. Gluten free options were superb. Gnocchi was light and fluffy and melt on the mouth delicious. Lovely warm service. Will be back. ️
We did the bottom less brunch over the weekend & highly recommend this place. The food was great & service was fantastic. We ended up staying back after our bottomless brunch had finished for a few hours & the team were all so nice & friendly. Look forward to returning!
Firstly got to say the staff were amazing here and they never let a wine glass go empty. We got the FEED ME MENU which was a good taste of everything. The highlights were definitely the scallops and the cape grim sirloin steak
housemade focaccia • extra virgin olive oil
hand-tied burrata • olive salsa • aged balsamic
seared scallops • spinach • saffron butter
housemade gnocchi • zucchini • basil • pine nuts
cape grim sirloin steak • kestrel potato • red wine butter
green beans & broccolini • garlic & chickpea miso
salted sticky date pudding • chantilly cream
We had a fantastic evening at Dead Ringer. Every dish on the set menu was delicious and the service we received was exceptional. The waiters were very attentive and kindly catered to dietary requirements with ease. They had a great drinks selection too. One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney!
Came here around 8 on a Friday night and the place was buzzing. Amazing food, the best gnocchi I've ever had. The scallops are also amazing, really all the food was delicious! Very friendly staff who are incredibly accommodating to dietary retirements. A bit noisy and hard to talk over the music. The cocktails are really yummy to.
Came here for dinner a few weeks ago and still ranting on about the experience to anyone who listens. This place was so intimate and the set menu is perfect for two! Staff were super attentive and just knew what to do which was very refreshing. And of course, the food was amazing as well! Can’t wait to come back!
Super friendly staff, great customer service. We had the set menu here. Food was delicious. I had the best ever sticky date pudding here. Absolutely amazing!
A bit pretentious. Just as I like em. The choice of whisky is very limited. The bartender suggested something going off of what I was looking for but was nothing close to what I wanted and it was good. The food portions are really small for the price but the ambience is great and food tastes delicious. I would recommend the almond spread. My friend and I couldn’t believe how good it tasted.
Brunch menu is set, no any options for other menu, and no coffee.taste just ok but a bit high price for brunch menu. Paid around $100 for 2pp. However, want to try again at dinner time.
What started off as a couple of late Sunday afternoon drinks and some small bites turned into an early dinner! Why? The small bites were delicious, then the mains were amazing, the drinks were satisfying, and the service was friendly.
A great place to have a long lunch or long early dinner! Nice to be seated near the front, we watched the day turn to night. Enjoyable couple of hours on a lazy Sunday.
Tldr: Amazing service, fantastic, fresh food, bottomless mimosa package is well worth the money! (most place serve you so slow it's not always worth it but dead ringer is efficient) Again AMAZing service so kind but still efficient, the food is always rolling to the next dish once your plate is clear. Highly recommend for their bottomless brunch menu.
Went here for bottomless brunch with a friend and the food was absolutely delicious, there was more than enough food and it was great and so tasty and the plates just keep rolling, you finish one and the next is there ready to go so you can control the pace. Very fresh menu which I love, even the plates that I was mildly concerned about were standout.
The service was so efficient and fantastic, all of the wait staff was so kind and lovely, easy to chat too but also so quick and they were helpful without you having to say a word. (Nothing worse than paying for a bottomless mimosa package and only being able to order a couple drinks because they are slow with service making it more expensive than ordering as you go), at Dead Ringer they are basically replacing your glass as soon as you finish so you can control the pace as you see fit:) and you dont have to worry about calling a waiter or waitress, they just see and know! (Obviously within reason and the responsible service of alcohol laws). And they keep your water glass full which is always nice. Definitely coming back asap!
The food is delicious, the ambiance is great and the staff are very chill and charismatic. This place is on the pricier side but worth it. Outside seating is really nice, but can get a bit cold if the heater isn't on (or doesn't reach the whole area). The salted sticky date pudding was the best I've had.
Four of us came for the set price weekend brunch, and we all really enjoyed it. Sally, our waiter, was incredibly friendly, attentive and personable. The food was good quality and interesting. The focaccia was universally liked, the smoked salmon was really tasty, the zucchini tart was delicious, the chicken in a bed of polenta was juicy and tender, and the desserts were tasty. The wine list is not extensive and is quite expensive. We had a great time
I came here with 13 guests for the bottomless brunch for my birthday. We did the $45 set menu and $30 mimosa add on. In the lead up to the reservation the communication with the team was really good and they were accommodating to my seating request (square table). When we arrived there was no real welcome and instead we were made to feel like a bit of an inconvenience by staff. The host never explained to the group how the bottomless worked, or talk through the set menu, and the group was left pretty confused wondering what was happening. The mimosas took about 15 minutes to first come out but after that came out at a good rate, we never needed to wait. They do come in water glasses, not flutes, and is majority filled with ice so we didn’t quite get the same (or any) bottomless shine on that we normally would. The food came out quickly and was really delicious, everyone LOVED it, but definitely could have been more. We felt there was no real atmosphere or vibe to the place and would probably go elsewhere if looking for the ‘fun’ bottomless brunch. Not sure it was worth the money. I did a lot of research on bottomless brunches before coming here so wanted to leave a review to help others when booking the same.
