Cho Cho San

My partner and I arrived half an hour early for our 10 course degustation and we're seated immediately which was great. While we enjoyed most of the dishes, we found the service was lacking. The dishes kept coming out about one minute apart and we hadn't even finished the first dish when three more were brought out. The table was very small and space was limited so we had to ask the staff to slow it down as there was literally no room on the table for anything else. Eating was not comfortable with the table over crowded with food and drinks. When we finished eating, the bill arrived within 5 seconds of our plates being cleared. Although we started eating early and finished one hour before we were told we'd have to leave for the next booking, we felt extremely rushed and this really impacted negatively on our experience there. We feel that this establishment wants to churn through customers to increase revenue rather than offer a positive experience.

I dined here for a birthday celebration with a couple of friends and each and every one of us were amazed with not only the food, but the service as well. The food was a 10/10 with each individual dish being spectacular and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. The service couldn’t get any better with the friendly staff being so accommodating to some allergies and helping us enjoy our night. 100% would recommend and also will definitely be dining again

Great service. We had the small set menu. The endamame, kingfish and eggplant were exceptional. I wasn't a fan of the cabbage salad. But the brulee made up for it. Cost pp was fair and I really appreciated that we weren't rushed.

Service is exceptional! We were quite late to our reservation, and the host rearranged other bookings so that our lateness did not cut into our sitting time. We were extremely grateful for this. Food was also incredible, per usual

What’s not to love! Excellent food, excellent service and a great vibe.

We left the ordering up to our wonderful waitress and she did not disappoint. She brought us the most amazing dishes and it was all timed perfectly.

I suggest going with a group because you’ll want to try everything.

Delicious food, great ambience and wonderful service. Menu regularly updated and will knock your socks off every time.

The food is amazing and waitstaff very helpful and friendly. The squid was just ok, we wouldn't recommend.however, The Wagyu is definitely a must, It is cooked tô pefection but it comes at a high price ($80).

The dissapointing part is that they put us sitting at the feont window between two small tables that very extremely noisy. At one point I had to start to raise my voice to be able to talk with my partner that was sitting in front of me because the other customers were way too loud.
Maybe I was unlucky but if you are paying a fine dinning experience you would expect the tables to be further apart

Great food, lovely wine and excellent service. Both the duck and tonkatsu were cooked to perfection and a special thank you to Jackie for looking after us.

Went in for the larger of the 2 set menus and wasn't disappointed. Everything was amazing. Surprisingly my favourite dish that I tried was the Bao, it was exceptional with so many great flavours. The sashimi was the best my wife and I had ever had. Staff were a standout aswell, very kind and helpful

Four mates went for a casual meal. Two of us second experience so we knew what to expect but our friends were blown away with the creative menu and incredible tastes. We doubled up on the Nasu Dengaku (eggplant sticks) and found each dish to be notable. Our vegetarian guest thought the offering was excellent and flavourful. Will certainly be return visitors.

8/10 for the food 2/10 for service and atmosphere.

If I'm paying 105 per person do i need to call up and make sure my booking for 2 wasn't seated at a kitchen bench opposite random people and actually at a proper table? Don't have booking times after 9pm available if you can't accommodate, i was reminded FIVE times indirectly to speed it up so they can close. (Was reminded 3 times that the kitchen is closing, like i got it from the first time? Given the bill when we didn't ask for it, told us they were closed 11 on the dot). I get that the workers finish work and want to go home but if that's the case why are bookings after 9 even available?

Also make it clear if there is there a designated server? The server that sat me down was super nice but the other servers seem to ignore you when you want to ask for something?

We are regular patrons, we love the super fab staff, the authentic and delicious food, and the jive this place has.

Top notch dining experience! We ordered the Christmas set menu. The food was really delicious and perfect portion. Absolutely loved the soft shell crab, king fish ponzu and hibachi duck breast. Very friendly and accommodating service from the staff. Really enjoyed our dinner. Highly recommended.

A beautiful dining experience, we loved the warm ambience and atmosphere, staff were lovely and each dish came out so timely. We had the "Cho Cho San Feast" set menu and we absolutely loved the edamame, king fish, ocean trout, charcoal chicken and the black sesame mochi ice cream! Thank you for a lovely night, I highly recommend this place!

Excellent service, wonderful atmosphere and next level amazing food! We’ve been trying to get to the restaurant for the past two year but Covid has other plans. But it was well worth the wait.

What an amazing place. The service was genuinely so fantastic, the food delightful and the drinks (cocktails and sake) were next level. How good is Potts Point!

Loved the raw menu! Ocean trout was delicious, and could not forget the xo crab fried rice - favourite!

Best service I’ve had since after lockdown, I know many establishments are experiencing staff shortage under the current circumstances, and I was not expecting to receive kind of service alike. Staff were very attentive and friendly;

Food is average tbh, need more effort on the visual design, balance of flavors and textures. Stuffed squid gotta be the star among what we ordered, tofu and tomato salad is the worst.

But will come back because of service&drinks
