Yarralumla Gallery and Oaks Brasserie reviews
64Proud statement of coloniser superiority (abuts "English" garden) this Cafe is on land stolen from Ngunnawal people and given to Henry Donnison in 1828.
Lovely and green outside seating, friendly and efficient service, shade provided. Love the dog menu items. Our pup ate it's noodles in a 3 second record! My vegetarian salad was delicious as was my iced mocha. My family (3 generations!) all enjoyed their lunch too. Thank you:)
The food was good but the service was slow. I'm told that's a known thing here. Dessert (passionfruit cheesecake) was amazing.
Would recommend. Very enjoyable lunch, good value, good service and attractive setting. A relief not to have the pretentious overpriced menus and poor service that so many Canberra restaurants have, and unlike them would look forward to coming here again.
I held my 40th birthday mid May at this awedome hidden gem and so glad i did. It was the most perfect venue. They far exceeded everyting i was hoping for. My guests and i had a magical night and my guests really enjoyed the atmosphere, beautiful lights around the gardens and the food. We ordered the platters and they were worth every cent. The most amazing part of our experience was how amazing the staff were.everything was sorted and setup so beautifully. The staff were so freindly, helpful and approachable and were so easy to deal with. I cannot say one negative thing about this venue because it was perfect. Family and freinds are still talking about it.
Star of the place is actually the view and the ample outdoor dog friendly seating. Really nice coffee, suited for long black more than milk based, food is decent but nothing special, tad expensive. Very friendly service.
Disappointing customer service but decent coffee. Upon entry the waitress laughed at my partner and I as we had walked into the cafe to look at the cakes. It wasn’t clear why she was laughing. If we had walked into the shop incorrectly maybe you would benefit from have a clear entry setup and not display cakes with prices.
What a shame the service was so poor. It could have been such a beautiful experience as it’s a gorgeous spot.
Top spot to sit outside with the dog on the weekend. Scones with jam and cream are ace. Service is average and can be slow.
Fantastic location for a lunch or brunch. We had to wait a little long for our food. It tasted good but maybe a little underwhelming for the price.
Horrible and cold food. I asked the waitress to replace my bacon, she said she would but never returned. It was like they didn't replace it on purpose. Paid huge price for the big breakfast but 2 tiny cold sausages, 2 cold eggs and lots of horrible cold bacon which I didn't eat and asked to be replaced. The French toast was pretty unpleasant too. The only good thing about this place is the desserts and coffee are really good, and of course the location is amazing and dog friendly.
The location saves this place. The food is average. Most expensive and disappointing scones in the world @ $15 for these two tiny ones. We ended up buying another 2 serves so $30 for four tiny scones.
Beautiful garden setting, dog friendly and great location. However we went on Sunday morning and waited over 30 mins for coffee and cake, which was very expensive.
Great dog friendly eatery with stunning natural surroundings. Staff are really nice. Food is average but it's worth it to be able to sit amongst the birds and trees. Hey even have a dog menu which is ultra cute. Rosie loves the chicken pasta!
Lovely surrounds but the service and lack of systems and customer focus is awful. This place hasn’t changed in years and each time I go - they obviously haven’t read their reviews - which says it all. Last weekend 1 hour wait we were told just for coffee - even with a reservation. How this business survives I do not know. Relies upon the setting - shame
Went there today with six girlfriends for lunch. We booked for 1100hrs.parking was atrocious. Most of us arrived at our table about 1110 hours, placed our lunch order at 1130hrs to be told our coffees would not be available for 45 minutes and my zucchini balls would not be available for an hour. Then they refused to take coffee orders. Seriously never, never come here. I have never been to a cafe in Canberra that has stopped taking coffee orders. I ordered a hot very hot flat white, it took 45 minutes and was severed cold, I sent it back, extremely disappointing. Don’t try this cafe, over priced and the wait time, unbelievable. I will never return, please tell your friends
Delightful. Outside dining. Fantastic dog friendly venue. Strolling through the greenery after coffee or food is a must.
Takes a while for the food to come even when not super busy. Ordered the breakfast roll, was ok as was the coffee.
We were part of a group that had booked the marquee only to find out on the day that the marquee was being shared with another group. We were crammed into one side. It was extremely busy, service slow, no room to barely get around the tables, largely disappointing.
Good food, great coffee, friendly and helpful staff. Great outdoor seating under the trees. Neat, clean, tidy and well kept.
Covid safe measures followed. Tables are places all around the garden so it's easy to maintain social distancing. Outdoor seating area is nice and relaxing.
Lunch menu items we wanted to have were sold out by afternoon but the fallback options were had were good.
Service was slow and it took 45mintutes to get the beef goulash with saffron rice sent to the table.
Relatively clean toilets. Good place to visit with pet dogs.
