Yarralumla Gallery and Oaks Brasserie reviews
64If you’re going to this place for the atmosphere and to be surrounded by nature, then this cafe is a great spot. The food and service are extremely disappointing and not ideal at the price point. The poached eggs were solid and cold and the service left a lot to be desired. Would suggest the management look into the food quality and taste and provide a friendlier service.
Finding the place was difficult. There was no sign outside.
We were there for lunch on a Wednesday. It took over an hour to get our first meal, as it did for tables around us.
Beautiful setting but…. Poached eggs were rock hard, feta was like cardboard and the smashed avo was ice cold from the fridge. I don’t usually do reviews but this place could be brilliant with a bit more effort
A great spot to have coffee, cake, and to observe native birds. Sometimes cheeky magpies get inside the screened area.
Beautiful location with beautiful food.
Excellent service … highly recommended visiting
Service was good and location is lovely, but sadly the food was very disappointing. Breakfast looked great, but that’s about it. The poached eggs were not freshly cooked being rock hard and cold; and the Big breakfast was barely warm with stone cold sausages and bacon, and hard fried eggs too. Also, bit tired of cafes serving latte as a cappuccino. The two are not interchangeable! Perhaps, it was just an off morning, but it wasn’t enjoyable. Very much felt like a bad cafeteria experience food wise.
The Chai is very weak & milky, the food is very basic, small portions for the high price!
The floor hadn't been swept bird poo could be seen around. The quality of the meal was less than average
Great place to have coffee and a bite to eat. Sitting outside even on a cool morning is very pleasant. You are greeted with friendly and very kind service. Great cross section of sweets and cakes that were well priced.
I would like to see a couple more disability spots in the carpark. The cafe is reasonably accessible with a very small step to get into the cafe. Highly recommended.
We had coffees, cake and some zucchini fritters. Very nice food, the garden is lovely and the staff were extremely friendly, they made it a nice atmosphere.
Good coffee, wasn’t a fan of the the burgers or chips.
Lovely service from the staff, venues in a nice location however parking can be difficult at times, and can get a bit noisy with alot of dogs due to proximity of dog park.
Really love sitting outside here.great food and healthy options.
Just watch the birds:)
Limited choices on the menu. Dog friendly with a doggy menu! Lovely garden setting but birds are a problem with all aspects in an outdoor area.
Burnt burger, horrible chips, too pricey for what it is.
"Less than ordanary" - dad.
Pros
- nice garden setting
- birds?
- coffee was decent - good
- bacon burger good
- prices reasonable
- pastries and cakes look delicious but didn't try
Cons
- scones microwaved. Jam and cream mediocre (whip can cream and standard woolies strawberry)
- Service and ordering is a bit odd. Find a table then come to counter and order
Beautiful garden setting (though there are inside tables) amongst the trees. The (young) staff were kind, friendly & helpful. If sitting outside, grab a table @ the western end of the property (most distant from the car park) as the trees @ the eastern end are full of currawongs, magpies & mynas who swoop & hassle guests for handouts constantly. Prices are very steep, food is okay but not outstanding.
A lovely little cafe in a tranquil and shady setting opposite the garden centre. Can often be relatively quiet when other venues are packed to the limit.
Great place to have breakfast with your family by the nature side. Loved the service and also yummy breakfast. I would highly recommend this place and would personally visit multiple times.
My husband & I were lucky enough to catch up here pre-Christmas 2021 with some family members.
I have always loved a good established-nursery (as opposed to 'garden centre') cafe/ restaurant.
Oaks Brasserie fits the bill. Beautiful surrounds, a good menu and - the test of any truly good establishment - agile enough to turn out some lovely food, notwithstanding total electrical failure in the kitchen due to the spectacular storm we we enjoying under a (suitably large) umbrella outside.
Visit it rain, hail or shine!
