If you love small portions, long wait times and leaving still feeling hungry then this is the place for you.
They explained the menu and stressed the fact that the food will “trickle out”, and that it did. Waiting nearly 45 minutes before any food hit the table. When it did come, nobody exclaimed how good thes, because it was simply average. $20 for chicken wings…. You get 2 of them.
The wait staff were nice enough, but they seemed to “trickle out” also.
Over priced and underwhelming. Small portions and long wait times. Maccas on the way home. Thank god for the fried potatoes that made up 75% of the meal.

Not the worst meal I’ve ever had, but I certainly didn’t leave the restaurant happy to pay the large bill at the end. Food was underwhelming and sparse, after talking with the waitstaff she told us that the large share plates from the grill contained large quantities of protein, having a hungry husband by my side we opted to order the pork belly plate and charcoal chicken plate along with some sides. When the chicken arrived 40mins later it had 1 chicken thigh! 1 chicken thigh… it was nearly $40 for that one dish …
When it arrived my husband jokingly said to the waiter.where’s the rest of my chicken? Then proceeded to put his face in his hands
That was meant to be a share plate for the table? It wasn’t even a big thigh? It was just piled high with corn to try to make it look bigger, we were both confused
Once we got in the car we had a big laugh at the ridiculousness of the experience, we will not be going back.

Once a gem of a restaurant but now its lost its way. Menu's have barely changed in years, overpriced cheap cuts of meat & fish. Staff have no idea what proper restaurant service is either. Maybe its time to listen to your customers.

Quality of food and service has dropped substantially since we were last here more than a year ago. It was one of the most exciting restaurants to be when we went before, serving exciting food plated beautifully, amazing pizzas and knowledgeable and friendly service.
One of our favourite dishes, the chop-chop Beef Tartare turned out chewy and sinewy. To their credit, they replaced the plate when we gave the feedback, although it was only just slightly less sinewy. The other dishes were not any better, unfortunately. The floor manager suggested a shiraz after she was asked what would go well with our orders, and having recommended a light red. We politely asked for another bottle.
Pizzas are now only available on Wednesdays.

Booked for lunch at 11: 30 today and arrived but no one would open the door for us. Stayed there for 5 mins and saw the staff at the bar but she wouldn’t open the door. Terrible service! Such a disappointment because we were looking forwards to trying it.

We visited Young George for a larger family gathering and we were all very impressed with the restaurant. The staff were accommodating, flexible and provided great recommendations as to the quantity and variety of food to order from their a la carte menu. Once the food came out, it was all delicious and the quantity was perfect for the family. Very impressed and will definitely be recommending this place to friends in future!

Went to Young George a couple of days ago for Matthew Evans book launch of The Real Food Companion new edition. It was good to see Freo's New Edition bookshop also involved. The canapes served were delicious (peri peri chicken crostinis, scallop wafers, eggplant tartlets, miso mushroom skewers and krokets)

Another wonderful meal at YG. The highlights were the beef chop chop tartare, the bone marrow beef and the carrots. Always enjoy the selections at YG and great service and atmosphere too.

The milk bun ramen fried chicken was not a favourite and the zucchini was too vinegary, but overall a great meal.

An excellent experience. The service was fantastic, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The food was the standout though, every dish was just as delicious as the last.

The first time we went there for lunch and the food was delicious! We can’t wait to back to try more food.
We go again today and the food was ok only and not worth the value.

Good food and drinks, although it’s not cheap and the staff are weirdly pushy about what to order

Completely lost our booking and had us waiting at the bar for half hour whilst they “sorted it out”. Ended up squeezed between two loud groups and didn’t offer any complimentary drinks to make up for their screw up. We left 5 mins after sitting down.

Service and atmosphere was absolutely AMAZING. Drinks were great and it's a very nice place to have conversations or go for dates.

However, the food could be a little better. Had to send back a dish which was the goat neck because meat was too tough, which the chef also agreed it was too tough.

Seriously underwhelmed by our meal here. The chicken buns + the scallops were fabulous, as was the special which was roast pork, the rest was forgettable. If you are going to have sharing plates then they need to be big enough for everyone to get a decent taste. It was overpriced for the amount that was provided. Not sure about the "atmosphere" that people have mentioned, to us it was like any other restaurant, quite noisy but to be expected as it was full. Coffee was nice, very limited dessert menu Will not be recommending this place to friends.

Went to the Young George on a rainy sunday evening and it was the perfect place to be nestled in the sleepy suburbs of East Fremantle. We arrived and were quickly seated, with the special explained to us and drinks orders taken.

Cocktails in hand (which were delicious) it was now time for the starters, we had the scallops which were beautify fresh easy to eat, followed by the prawn toast only complaint was there wasn't enough, lastly we had the milk bun fried chicken ramen sliders and OMG were these delicious. Seriously I'd be going back again just for these, if only they served a full sized burger of this.

For mains we shared between the Oyster mushroom risotto, chicken gnocchi, lamb belly and the roast pork special (with a side of the fries potatoes W/ creamy truffle aioli.of course). All these dishes were nice and fresh and cooked to perfection.

In summary, the food was fantastic, the drinks were flowing and the company was second to none. Young George chefs should be commended for their passion for food and the servers for their willingness to help and actually give good advice. I had high expectations for the Young George and I am pleased to say they were far surpassed in all avenues.

Service: 10/10

Perfection. What else can you say about this legendary spot? Each dish was infused with creativity and balance. Friendly staff gave brilliant recommendations. Solid drinks too. I look forward to eating here frequently.

All the dishes were excellent, a little expensive but justified by the quality and service which was exceptional. Nice atmosphere and music wasn't too loud. Will be back again.
