The Merrywell Perth

Place was good once I got in. Getting in was difficult as I'm 41. They tried to tell me I was too drunk to get in, even though I was the driver with no drinks. My younger friends walked straight in with me waiting at the door. Bouncers clearly didn't want 40+ people in on a Friday night. I'm interested to see what other people in my situation have to say.

Ok n eof the better Casino venues, but you pay for it - $12 pints ($11.50 Swannies), bar service is slow / poor with any sort of a crowd in attendance, foods good but wouldn't expect any less for the price, no take away of any left overs either.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Merrywell today. Nice and clean, pleasant staff, our food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious! (Well priced too!) The venue is quite pleasant with interesting decor. There are big screens playing music clips, mainly 80's music which we enjoyed. There is outdoor dining available and the casino is easily accessible too. All around, a great day out!

Honestly the worst experience ever! The service for a start was terrible we only had one nice male server who tried his best to make sure we were okay which is why im giving 2 stars instead of 1. For a start they basically had nothing in stock in the bar and were severely understaffed. We then had to clear our own table instead of the staff doing it and when we asked for our table to be wiped they gave us a cloth to wipe down our own table…. What terrible customer service. Then we didn’t have any clean cutlery and when given a new set they were still dirty! How can you give out dirty cutlery for people to eat their food with? Then we asked if we could have takeaway containers and even offered to pay extra money for a container and they denied us. Overall it was an expensive place to eat at for the poor customer service we got and I will never be coming back here and making sure that plenty others don’t either.

Merrywell has gone downhill in recent years. Gave it another shot after a few bad experiences, and regret my decision. The vegetables were full of sand. Steak was asked for cooked medium, instead received an overdone second hand tyre. Potoatos were similarly overdone. To top it off, the bar staff seem to have all dropped a couple of Xanax before shift.

Food fantastic, guy at the counter taking food orders just Lovely. Bar staff incredible basic with very bad customer service and basically, they couldn't be bothered. So will not be going back

Great food, large portions with ample leftovers. Best buffalo wings and the chicken parmigiana with rocket salad was great and super tasty. Staff were really accommodating and we enjoyed ourselves very much

Dinner with friends. It's the usual ordering at the bar fanfare, but here you order at separate bars for drinks and food. If you watch them both you can time it right, if you don't, it will test your patience.

The tables were a little slow to be cleaned which was a bit of a shame even in these COVID times.

I ordered the Steak Frites, rare. It's a fairly low quality steak, very thin and at best medium rare. Fries are alright and prices aren't extortionate. Just feels like standard pub food, scaled up to serve as many people in as short a time as possible.

Staff were pleasant. Food was good but every table was reserved and place was empty and they would have lost business as people walked out. We asked if we could eat and they said yes but you only have 1½ hours to eat before next booking. Sure we can do that. In and out in under an hour.

Has the potential to be a good venue, but they need more bar staff. Attended a Xmas function on Saturday night and having to wait for up to 30 mins for a drink is ridiculous.

Beef sliders, buffalo lollipops and chips were a hit.

The lollipops have some kick thats for sure. Dipping sauce is a saviour.

Had a problem with a meal being overcooked, waiter and manager dealt with it in under 5 mins. Great stuff. Burgers are a winner.

Had my 50th bday dinner last night and must say wasn't impressed. Some of the food came out cold. Deserts, waitress didn't bother looking for our table and took it back to the kitchen. We had to go and ask where the deserts were.
So overall very average.

The food was absolutely delicious the portion was huge and the service was fast.
For the price of the steak I had it was well worth it so make sure you visit and try out The Merrywell

I have enjoyed breakfast here in the past and it has always been great. Wasn't so good on Sunday morning 17/10. Ordered toast, avocado, mushrooms and taters. Got cold mushrooms, bread that was not toasted and brown avocado. When clearing our table, the waiter dropped the cutlery on my husband spilling food bits on his shirt. The waiter didn't apologise, just acted like nothing happened. I'm only giving two stars because the manager seemed to know what he was doing, he just didn't have a great team. And the other star because the waitress toasted my bread and replaced my avocado after I asked nicely.

It's always a good pub feed whenever I come here. This time round of was after an afternoon walk along the river which was topped off with an amazing Angus beef burger! It wasn't too oily, very tasty and very filling.

Breakfast experience very average. Charcoal bacon, old avocado and poor service. Not very friendly to vegetarians, they didn't offer any swaps had to pay extra to get veg sides.

As always lively with civilised crowd and good security. Fortunately not too formal but cosy. Not a fine dining place but food is decent. Bar can be crowded at times but would be expected from a place like this.

Booking wasn't honoured until 40 minutes after due time. Set menu wasn't honoured. Meat was undercooked and the salad was a variety of leafy greens with not much substance.

Nice place, great staff.
They need to learn how to close the outside doors after customers leave. Uncomfortably cold! Our party of 8 left because of this.
