The Denmark Tavern reviews
77Meals smaller than they used to be & maybe calamari could have been cooked a bit more. Fish was very soft with no taste.
Even though the service was great, steak wasnt seasoned at all, cooked beautifully but no taste. Also with with the creamy prawns, unfortunately they weren't seasoned either. Side salads needed to be more bigger.
Was a bit disappointed.it looks nice outside with new long tables and glass panels so children cant climb over the side.made it nice for children but no kids menu.it wasnt the menu which is on the page or board like it was. I could only see two vegetarian meals. I liked the casual way and feel like it was before
Great food. Plates cold. Staff need to smile and converse with the customers. Well done to the chef. Would have stayed for drinks but the room was too cold and had to keep our coats on.
Had a great Melbourne cup lunch. Staff went to a lot of trouble with the table decor and were very friendly. Set menu 3 course lunch was above average. Will be going back again before our holiday is over.
They've just out in a great outdoor play ground and it's amazing for the kids and great for the adults when you want some time out. Amazing food:)
Love this place.especially like the winter menu. Can't say anything bad.busy sometimes especially school hols etc.you might need to book. Lovely pub.
Great pub, good beer, reasonable menu selection and price wise maybe they could add to exesting menu for our simpler eaters some plain old favorites mixed grill bangers and mash risoles just musing ;)
Nice atmosphere, rammed earth walls, stone fireplace, pool table, darts etc. Beer selection good. Food in restaurant good too. Steak, beef burgers an excellent feed. Recommended.
Place to be for Melbourne cup in Denmark. Fascinators get mystery discount. All fish locally caught. Quality at reasonable prices. House wines vary month to month but all sourced from great southern region. Brett, the chef, knows his stuff! Danni the manager. Check the tattoos! A work in progress.
A very cosy and accomodating pub, 3 of us here on a work trip, arrived late on Sunday after the kitchen closed but we were still offered a few select dishes. Not expecting much but was amazing, perfect comfort food.
Here for the week and have come back 3 of 4 nights. Lovely staff, must get the sticky date pudding! Won't disappoint.
Its a very nice venue and have a lovely young friendly staff.
Ive ask for many annoying changes on my dishes and they always accepted haha so I'm very happy with the food, j don't give 5 stars because I think its not enough beer variety and it also could open until later in weekend days.
I think also this is a great place to have a couple of beer in a summer sunny day, I love the beer garden at the back
Solid pub grub, beef burger was good, chicken pasta maybe had a bit too much garlic. Menu was slightly different to what's published on their website.
I like it alot:) nice relaxed place to spend a lazy afternoon. Steak was melt in your mouth, partners fish and chips were brilliant, love the salad
The meal was tasty and well priced. I had a creamy and tasty potato and leek soup followed by the lamb shanks. My partner had the bangers and mash which he complimented as being rich and hearty.
This is an excellent venue. The steak was cooked perfectly, and local craft beer on tap! Very much worth heading to, and I will return whenever I'm in town.
Starter meals were excellent! We had pork belly bites and the salt a pepper squid, crackle on the pork belly was to die for and the calamari was cooked to perfection, melting in your mouth! If we had of stopped there I would be giving them 5 stars, for mains we had, reef and beef at $42 mind you, my steak was over cooked, and I received 2 prawns and 2 Scollops, for $42 I expected a bit more seafood than that, after all they certainly were not tiger prawns, my husband ordered the seafood marinara linguini.big mistake, it had a funny plastic burnt smell and taste, he is usually a steak man but had gone out on a limb to try this “marinara”, we returned his meal, my husband refusing to eat it, but we were refunded the cost of the meal and given a free pint, the manager was pleasant and thanked us for our feedback and honesty, overall service was great and fast but kitchen staff need a bit of a tune up!
