Tarangau Caravan Park

Expected a relaxed, nice caravan park as most reviews suggest it is, which is why we picked this place. Instead we faced rude and unhelpful staff, and a rather inconvenient campground. There is no wifi or pool as other campgrounds offer, although the price is the same. When we expressed our concerns to the staff we got the response to “go to another place”.

The park itself is subpar - no pool, dirt areas for ground tents, only 1 kitchen in the entire park where everyone seems to hang out and sit around making it awkward when you want to use it for yourself, the largest speed bumps I've ever seen making it difficult for lower vehicles to access and the price is $40 for unpowered areas!

The staff members we spoke to have no customer service skills whatsoever rather then being nice and friendly they were blatantly accusing us of using there services without paying and just straight rude towards my partner and I. They treated us as if we were sneaking around and trying to get freebies out of our entire stay - calling us when were out in town telling us we need to come back and pay today as our tent is still on the grounds - which is totally reasonable but the attitude of the employee and lack of communication is what made our experience horrible - we were told no information ie check-out or check- in times or where anything was.

They keep tabs and a close eye on everyone that stays so beware and make sure you pay through reception straight away or call them if they are not manned or if it is after hours, as they will chase you down relentlessly to get there money and then will target you after.

I really wanted to give this park 5 stars due to friendly staff, fantastic amenities and great rates. But it is badly let down by two things. Firstly it has those horrendous double-hump speed bumps that are just awful to drive over. Secondly, whilst I understand it is impossible to grow grass due to dry climate and heavy usage but far too many sites are bare dirt and the management really needs to look at replacing these sites with the UV - treated fibreglass? Pads for cars to drive onto.
But if you are prepared for these issues then by all means give this good, friendly park a visit.

Fantastic clean and well maintained facilities. Front office very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Nice mature trees and nice gardens. 3 min drive to Cable beach.
We have stayed twice and will alway come back. Thanks to the staff and management.

Great location close enough to cable beach to be able to walk there. Grass sites available and not as crowded or large as the other caravan parks

Fabulous shady quiet small caravan park walking or cycling distance to Cable Beach. Park well maintained and managed very well lovely young people who manage the park.

By far the best caravan park we've been too. The most amazing, friendly, helpful managers which extends down to their staff.
This will always be our favourite place in Broome keep smiling team your amazing

Great Caravan park with lovely sites that are shaded by the beautiful trees. Amenities are great and if you are lucky enough one of the cute little green frogs might join you at camp or in the shower Staff are very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay again.

This is the second time we have stayed at Tarangau and we absolutely loved both stays. Warm and friendly customer service, leafy, shady sites and excellent facilities. We were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. Thank you we shall be back!

Wonderful Caravan Park, clean amenities and grounds, Staff do an amazing job, always friendly and helpful. Lots of shade and fabulous camp kitchen. Highly recommend

Great boutique park. Lots of shade and green grass. Ground staff always cleaning. Amenities were clean. Gas exchange here as well.

Ticks all the boxes. Quiet.clean.shady.good size sites.well located.would definitely recommend.

Beautiful park. First time we’ve even tried this one, chosen as we are traveling with friends with dogs. Really impressed from the moment we arrived. It’s been just lovely here. Shady sites, secure, quiet, smaller park, spotless, spacious amenities and neat, organised grounds and facilities, easy access to everything we need - pop down to Cable beach for sunsets in minutes or into town in minutes. A relaxed friendly vibe and the most welcoming, easy going and accommodating staff. Would choose this one next time.

Clean amenities, basic kitchen. Very busy we had to get lucky to use the laundry’s our site is mostly red dirt, a bit noisy as next to the road. Staffs were friendly. Overall a nice place to stay.

We really loved this caravan park! It is situated walking distance from the beach and restaurants in Cable Beach. Amenities are big and clean, sheltered kitchen with facilities. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, they’ve been amazing and made us enjoyed a lot our stay in there. Highly recommended!

Probably the smallest park in town & lots of vans. Clean amenities & friendly staff. Short walk to Cable beach.

The staff are brilliant and very friendly. The park is beautiful and clean. Wish we could've stayed longer.
