Six Senses Gourmet Thai reviews
71Ive been coming to six senses for at least 5 years now. Service has never been great but that’s not even what bothered me about the place. Last night I ordered chicken cashew nut noodles, barely ate anything because they tasted really fishy. I understand the Asian cuisine uses fish sauce and other ingredients in noodles, but it covered the whole flavour of the dish making me feel nauseous, my plate was still full and we waited for someone to come and check on our meals or at least to ask if everything was alright but nothing. After 30min of waiting I decided to go pay and explain the situation without making a big deal since I work in hospitality, waitress responded “Really sorry about that, I will let the kitchen know” meanwhile I had left my entire plate of noodles and was left paying for a dish I had barely touched. I understand customer service can be hard but I was polite, I expected at least some discount and got nothing, just a brief apology and the eftpos waiting for me to pay for something which was extremely disappointing.
Came for work Christmas dinner and they didn't let us split the bill. Took our work colleague 45 minutes to sort out the bill and was very inconvenient. Tried talking to the person at the main desk to split the bill but no use. Extremely disappointed and never coming back again.
Thai beef salad, papaya salad and curry was nice.barramundi tasted like fish fingers, like it was out of a swamp or fish farm though
Ordered Chilli Basil Noodles. Got home and opened container and there were in fact no noodles in said chilli basil noodle. Called the restaurant to ask for noodles to add to the dish and were told that the Chilli Basil Noodles never comes with noodles … strange
We popped in here for my birthday dinner after leaving another restaurant which was terrible. This place turned our evening around.
We selected 6 entrees and some rice and shared everything. We had a beautiful bottle of chardonnay and the pancakes for dessert.
Service was fantastic, waitstaff are super attentive and very friendly. The food was delicious and plated up so delicately.
10/10 experience - will certainly be back soon as could not fault this wonderful restaurant.
The food was great. No complaints. The service was shocking. We had to ask for a menu. Ask for someone to take our orders. Ask for wine bucket etc.
At the end of the night (10pm) a waiter literally tried to take a glass of wine from my hand (that I was very clearly drinking). When I stopped him he said - we are closed. Yeah sorry mate I’m finishing my wine.
My girlfriend had half a bottle of champagne in a wine bucket and they took it. When we asked where it was as she wanted to take it home they said - we threw it. We are closed. Sorry but service like that means we don’t come back.
Very chic decor, warm welcoming atmosphere. Busy for a Friday night. The service was prompt.
Usual Thai restaurant menu with a few atypicals. The price is probably a little above average - $25 for a bowl of green Thai curry, $31 for the crispy baby barramundi. The green Thai curry was nice but can be spicier. The crispy barramundi (even if it wasn't very crispy) is worth ordering. The coconut deep fried prawns for entre was delightful to the taste buds.
Overall a great experience.
Visited at 6pm on the 25/9/21, and didn't get our order until 7: 40pm. The staff somehow forgot the rest of our order after we received our Barramundi.
Thought it was odd that the Barramundi arrived within 10 minutes of ordering it. They must have served the rest of the order off and didn't realise there was more to the order.
The order was refunded (we appreciate that), I'm sure the food tasted nice; however, waiting that amount of time would make any food taste less appealing.and it doesn't justify the hour and 40 minute wait of pure boredom and disappointment. Will not be coming back again.
When we arrived at The Quay Six Senses we waited quite some time for someone to greet you at the door. The restaurant had a great ambience and everything else was disappointing. The wait staff were not very friendly and were never around for service. Our green chicken curry arrived cold so we asked to just warm it up in the microwave. After about 10 mins it came back lukewarm, obviously forgot to bring it back right away. The black pepper beef stir fry was terrible. The quality of meat was extremely tough for an expensive charge we couldn’t eat it. Would not go back as we found the dishes did not have the authentic Thai flavours!
Gourmet Thai food - elegant presentation and very efficient service in comfortable and stylish surroundings. Also have good beer on tap!
First time here our order was forgotten, very rude waiter and waitress. They just didn't care despite the error. Ordered coconut rice and curries all food was cold. What a joke of a restaurant, someone please educate them on customer service and retention. Definitely not visiting again. What a disappointment!
Average food and service. Hardly any crab in the soft-shell crab dish, mostly vegetables. Massaman curry had mashed potato and onion rings, and not much beef! Staff have no idea about which side to serve from, how to pour wine or just smile and look like they give a %$#%.
And, no soap in the bathroom!
Had the most beautiful beef salad here, really nice. Lovely flavours and textures. Service could have been more attentive
We came here as a group on Saturday night. The restaurant was very hard to find. The writing on the front is very hard to notice. A few of us walked straight past.
The staff are friendly and the restaurant was well presented. The toilets were not appealing at all.
Everyone enjoyed their meals including myself who isn’t much of a Thai eater. I had the ribs, not fall off the bone but they were delicious. The entrees were also extremely yummy.
I ordered Asian greens and rice with peanut sauce I have had this before and it was delicious but tonight was a let down with my Asian greens consisting of a container of beans with 3 broccoli heads I think you need to do better than that Sixth Senses call it Asian Bean if you like but please deliver what you advertise
Went here with my sister in law for lunch while in the city. We were met at the door with a stare rather than a greeting and walked to a table. We sat down and realised that the air conditioner was blowing directly on us so we asked to move. The waitress was not pleasant and told me we couldn’t move because we had a pram. I responded by asking if we could just move to the table left of us out of the direct path of the AC. This was accepted with the addition of an eye roll.
Our order was taken fairly promptly but not until we saw one of the staff duck down behind a trolly to take a phone call!
The food came quickly and was decent, though nothing to rave about.
Unfortunately, the staff ruin this restaurant, not so much as a smile was given at anytime during our visit. Don’t think I would return.
There were 12 of us who had lunch for a girlfriend’s birthday. We can’t complain about the food, everything was super tasty and excellent presentation. The service wasn’t friendly and attentive. Two of the ladies didn’t have their order. Maybe, the waitress is not used to attending to a big group. We will come back, we liked the food very much. Hopefully we will have a warm service and a smile
Amazing Thai food, very filling and plentiful servings for a reasonable price. Good for a night out with friends or family
Many great experiences here, one of the best Thai places in Perth, but wait times after ordering can be lengthy, usually because they’re so busy.
Some.of the nicest Thai I have eaten in Perth. Unfortunately let down by poor service. Meals arrived half an hour apart and wait staff were very hard to get the attention of. It's a shame as it lets the great food down.
