Rockpool Bar & Grill

Lovely dinning experience with very friendly staff. Food were beautifully presented and cooked. Steak was so tender and juicy and very flavourful, happy with the choice of getting 36months aged. Brussels sprout salad was so delicious, light and refreshing. Wag you bolognese fettuccine was disappointing thought, it tasted nothing different to homemade bolognese, was really expecting a ‘wow’ factor to it. Overall a lovely experience, although a little overrated with the prices.

A great night spent with family. While this review would be for a few months ago, i am more than sure Rockpool keeps their standard high throughout each year that passes by. Some fantastic choices on the menu and dishes are all served in a simple yet elegant way which places the focus on the quality of products we are paying for. While I have to say I was quiet disappointed with the fish (mabey its just me) I have to say the steak, sides, entrees and drinks for a 10/10. Nothing can be perfect however a 5* is definitely the fair score.

Rating 1 star as won't allow me to rate 0. We went for dinner as a group of 5. Was seated and waited ages to even be greeted by our server. Who then had limited knowledge and left multiple times find out answers. The wine took a lot longer than it should of to arrive and we were also delivered a bottle we were informed was not stocked there. The medium steaks we ordered came out over cooked and cold these were sent back to the kitchen and the new steak still tasted horrible and only half was eaten. The burgers we ordered were also less then average and were not worth the 25$ they cost.

Would not recommend to ANYONE! The staff were rude and the whole experience was unpleasant.

The atmosphere, décor and layout are all very good. Ordered a $65 steak and the waiter replied that is wasn't so good and so best to order a special one they had. It always felt like they were trying to upsell and the waiter was overly chatty and friendly as if wanting a tip. Steaks were good but not amazing as you might expect. They do expect a tip when paying which was expected after the way the waiter acted which is a little rude given the menu prices.

Everyone should try “Neil Perry’s signature tasting“ (with wine) at least once in their lifetime. It is worth every penny.
Each dish is an explosion of flavour and perfectly matched with a quality wine.
Wait staff are polite and very knowledgeable when it comes to each option on the menu.
5 stars without hesitation.

Hands down the best steak I have ever had. If you’re find it hard to justify outlaying for the wagyu, don’t, just do it and win the money back later

Over rated, over priced and underwhelming.
We waited over 90mins for our meals to start arriving, have cooked a better steak myself at home. Steak was tasteless and not worth $79. We were a group of 12 and as a couple our meals alone came to $180. This was not our first visit however it will definately be our last.

Really disappointed with a flavourless, undercooked steak, and a side dish of mixed mushrooms that also lacked any flavour. I ordered what was supposed to be a wagyu, but it lacked any marbling or flavour. The service was ok.

Really had high expectations, so thoroughly disappointed. Terrible value and by no means a high end steakhouse.

Service started well but after getting our drinks we had to wait over 20 minutes to take our order. After finishing entrees took over 15 minutes to clear the plates and to send the mains. We ordered 2 rib eyes and both came out blue. (We asked for medium rare) After the mains were served the waiter did not come back to check on how the food was. We were hungry so we ate the underdone steaks. The steaks themselves were chewy. The waiter came back when we were almost done and we had the steaks cooked a bit more. They were a little better when they came out again. The waiter said due to the dry aging the colour was would be a little redder than usual but I don't think this was the case. When we went to pay the manager told us the steaks are cooked 'european style' which I assume means blue? Why ask how we would like them cooked then? It wasn't all bad, the atmosphere, cocktails and scallops were fantastic. Overall, poor service and food below expectations. Did not even come close to the crown standard.

Oh my word. The steaks! So many to choose from and the ones we had were just amazing. Delicious. A fillet steak and a rib eye t-bone. You won’t get a better steak. Anywhere.

The onion rings were as onion rings should be. Large and crispy. And what better wine to complement such a devine dinner? Chianti of course.

After loving your restaurant for so long. My latest experience leaves me gobsmacked. The only saving grace was the female host who was both friendly and gracious on arrival. It was a late booking and so I was starving so ordered food straight away. Afterwards no drinks order was taken, and the waitress disappeared, food came, and I was no longer interested in asking for the cocktail i'd wanted to start my meal. The waitress never reappeared at all during my meal. Once finished I waited, I even piled the plates on the side of the table in the hope of getting some attention. 20mins later, i got up and left the table in search of someone to pay the bill. Rockpool I came in wanting a lovely meal, a cocktail, wine, 3 courses and a coffee to finish my night. Instead I got a steak, water, and the opportunity to listen to the table next to me complain about the poor service.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was lovely, be prepared to pay at least a hundred bucks per head before drinks

This is was our third visit to Rockpool in Perth.
The food and service are both very good. They catered for our 2 kids very well and the kids meals and drinks are good value.

Just a side note.although the steaks are tasty, when I visit an expensive steakhouse, i want at least an inch and half thick Ribeye that is gonna give me a run for my money.

Rockpool.please increase the size of the steaks!

The service was good.
But the food was below quality and overpriced.
Definitely, won’t come back or recommend to anyone.

Good venue with friendly and excellent support.
Romantically decorated restaurant with a good ranging menu of quality dishes and well stocked bar. The menu is well priced with meals to cater to everybody's taste and dietary needs.

Staying at Crown Metropolitan, tried to get a table last night, and was rudely told if I wanted a table I'd have to wait for over 2 hours, their seems to be no dispensation for guests, lucky for us we found another restaurant called just grillin great food great price and service

Real 5 star service, steak was cooked perfectly. The entree was perfect, we had the charcoal squid and pork belly. They even gave us a happy anniversary cake.

Great food but terrible service! We do know we can pay our bill while sitting at our table. Yet, you don’t have to throw our bill in front of me and my bf and tell us no drama at all. The service was just terrible and wouldn’t want to stay there any longer. Oh sorry for paying our bill that way. No more next time!

Great steak and ambience - let down by a serving staff who was half hearted (just topping up 1 or 2 glasses of water to look busy when 6 empty glasses were on the table for example).

Had an amazing time, service and staff were amazing! Really good charcoal grilled steak, would recommend to anyone who is celebrating any occasion!
