Perth Zoo reviews
82It's not the most amazing zoo, but it's what we have. Plenty of shade while walking around, good selection of animals to look at.
Lovely day out, plenty to see, food trucks present, shady paths, lovely gardens and greenery, great informative talks on different animals at times advertised on signs or PA system. Great gift shops, plenty of drink machines around Zoo.
Fun place, massive and with some strategy you can take in a fair bit of the zoo. With young kids it can be a long day for them and lots of steps. More than one entrance would be nice as parking to entry is a decent walk. So much to take in, repeat visits are necessary to fully appreciate everything.
Nice place to take the kids. Have a picnic or Bbq in middle of the zoo. Check out the several differant food trucks. (Tigers and Lions and Bears not the only AnIMALS THAT NEED FEEDING)
Need to go again got too tired walking around only saw half so Il be back with my toddler and other children hopefully soon! I will endeavour to go on the buggys next time
Ovember 2021 after record October rains, everythig should be lush and green. Disappointed in neglected grounds since I visited 30 years ago. I saw lots of signage and pictures of animals, and very few actual animals. I walked the whole zoo with exception of the geraff area, we couldn't find that. We came hoping to see the baby geraff.
A great place to spend with friends and family. A lot of great animals to see, friendly staff. Was just disappointed we didn't get to see the lions anywhere. They are great at hiding.
Such a great day out! Highly recommend that you do a close encounter, we did the giraffes and was a brilliant experience for the whole family.
An oasis in the middle of Perth. Worth it just for the gardens but the animals are great as well. Give yourself time to relax there.
Love the Zoo and its many wonders. Customer service is great but food prices are expensive. Love the nature walks and pathways. Great experience for all ages.
Besides certain animals not being on display (to be expected at times) it was absolutely lovely to get out as a family and see and learn so many new things
All the animals are depressed, and have their backs turned to the viewers. The zoo it's self is terrible, over-rated, and far too expensive for what you get. Finding parking is impossible. The food trucks, which are independent from the zoo, are good.
Awesome place to check out a lot of great animals. The staff a very friendly and informative, the staff also maintain the facilities to a pristine condition. An other benefit to going to Perth Zoo, they have great places to get a bite to eat and have a picnic.
To be honest I did not want to visit Perth zoo or any other Zoo but my grandchildren insisted. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of room the animal's have to roam around. The information given was extremely interesting. I learnt so many interesting facts but not enough, so my husband and I are going to visit again. The ladies in the kiosk were so helpful and friendly, in fact all the staff were helpful.
We bumped into a lady called Leah who was taking her husband and daughter round the Zoo. She was full of interesting information. It turned out that she works at the Zoo and was there on her day off.
It was a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by so many trees. Great picnic areas, plenty of CLEAN toilets always much appreciated! Wheelchair friendly etc etc.
Took some friends and all the kids to the night zoo and food trucks last Sunday everyone had a blast great day all round curtasy of tronix mining recommended
Many of the exhibits are empty or virtually empty, many under maintenance according to signage - nothing particularly obvious so could just be mornings not good for the animals? MBE keepers hadn't got them out of bed yet? Went to see a koala in particular but not a furry fella to be seen? Lots of fresh gum leaves in the enclosure but no critters. Devastating to our little fella on the spectrum who was super amped to be "going to the zoo to see the koalas" he wasn't quite placated by the roos and wallabies.
Be good if they advertised the anomalies on the website so children expectations can be managed. Thankfully the penguins were out and about!
Only one coffee van open on arrival with a long queue and a trainee on the machine. Really more than one coffee maker would be alright - surely?
We've been zoo members for 2 years and often come once a week. It's well laid out and a perfect day out since my little one turned 3.
The food trucks aren't great, but the real experience is eating your lunch while watching Permai and Tricia the elephants play and eat in their amphitheatre. Make memories.
My partner and our 3 year old had a great day. Got there around lunch time and there were food trucks everywhere so we had pizza and chicken treat. The gardens are great and we had a great time looking at all the animals. It was really good when we think the elephants were given ice blocks hanging from chains and they were jumping up to pull them down. We had a great day but parking was a 10.15 minute walk because it was a beautiful day and everyone had the same idea.
Wonderful place to visit. Lots of information about the animals. The animals are well cared for. Overall a lovely experience.
Fantastic place for young and old. View a huge range of creatures great and small in beautifully landscaped gardens. Great for photography lovers, like me!
