Perth Zoo reviews
82Place is looking nice with all the trees grown up. Orangutan enclosure is looking great and the animals look comfortable. Elephant talk was good as well.
Very poor not enough fresh branches in enclosures not animals still put away until 10 so not alot to see for a hour
I attended the Wild Lights event this week and was very disappointed by the poor information available. As the new Cafe is open there are no longer any food trucks. Which would be fine except the Cafe stopped serving hot food at 6pm. The intercoms announcement said cafe closed at 6.30. So when we finished seeing the animal at 6. There was no food available and we had to leave with hungry kids and couldn’t enjoy the light attraction. Bring a picnic. Atmosphere was lovely and experience would have been better with food trucks.
Also, although there was no food there was alcohol being served. I don’t think it’s necessary to serve alcohol at the Zoo.
Train from kwinana great, ferry from elizabeth quay nice staff excellent. Perth zoo best i can say, disappointed very average.
Great zoo to go to! I had a membership back in 2008, but just recently when I was visiting my mom and brother, I got a membership which was awesome and it was so nostalgic since I moved to Sydney. I loved the African Savanna and I got to see Jelani, Uzuri and Makeba the lions, despite them not used to Jelani, coz he’s a newbie. The one thing that pissed me off is when those little kids banged on the Lion enclosure and they didn’t even listen at all and I had to tell the zookeeper about this and they had sorted it out, which was good, coz wild animals need to be respected, coz they’re endangered and went to the zoo five times, when I had a 10 day visit and that really made my trip da best! So thanks so much Perth Zoo! So sad I’m gonna miss u, but it’s worth it and I’ll come back again, if I visit Perth again
The new playground and cafe are fantastic. It was great to see the zoo full of people on a late weekday afternoon.
If you have kids, I recommend getting the annual pass. It's always a good back pocket option to take the kids for the morning or afternoon. Kids love it. Some animals have too many hidey holes, so it's rare to see them. Tiger, Lions, Hyenas, Otters just to name a few. Can't wait for the future upgrades as the zoo is definitely ageing. But it's a good timespend nonetheless.
It's definitely an all day thing to plan for you and the kids and I will say it's a good idea to pack a picnic lunch for you and the family as it's a bit pricey for food. I do understand the price for entry to be a bit high but that is to go towards the animals. I was happy to pay entry fee but was very surprised and shocked on price for food and it wasn't like it was fancy food either.for example chips pies and sandwiches and other things but it was the price of the basic food that got me.apart from that the kids and the family enjoyed them and by the end of the day we were exhausted we didn't even finish the whole park to see all animals
Awesome, kid-friendly and educational place for both adults and children with very friendly and helpful zoo staff. Loved watching the wild dogs interact with each other. Very well planned zoo with animals grouped according to the country of origin.
This is a beautiful place if you want to get out of busy life and get close to nature.
Beautiful collection of animals and scenic views as close to wild.
Good fun day. There is lots of walking with kids, so highly suggest you take pram, buggies, beach trolley or strollers with you. Lots of high and low steep walking paths. Please travel lightly and only carry bare necessaties. Good amount of food trucks to get lunch, snacks and beverages. Zoo shop got you covered if you miss anything. Would go again 9/10
Lovely lush greenery. We make the trip annually and every time the animals look well looked after and are quite active in their environments.
Great place to wander around without rushing, be good to have a proper cafe operating there again and the Grand Carousel restored to its former glory otherwise a great family outing
Perth Zoo is delightful!
We were really impressed with the success that they’ve had with their orangutan breeding program. It’s a great zoo because it is immerses you right alongside the amazing animals. From Galapagos turtle to bull elephant to giant salt water croc - there’s something for everyone to connect with nature here. We particularly enjoyed the reptile house - up close and personal with our scaly friends
A great time for families. Lots of play areas for kids, plenty of food places and some grassed areas to sit for lunch.
Perfect for a family outing, with large open area for resting and eating. See a wide variety animals from around the world. The park is well maintained and looked after.
We got there late as we come up from Donnybrook.
The kids still absolutely love it, we still seen the elephant, lions, rinos, reptiles, so many monkeys, crocodile.
An will go again anytime
Always good fun for the whole family. Staff is always friendly and lots of lunch choices to choose from as well.
We loved our time there. Shame the animals were not in enclosure. Great day good selection of food with the food trucks.
Always a fantastic day. Plenty of shade and I was impressed with the amount of water bottle refill stations available. Toilets were clean, great for everyone of all ages.
