Lindisfarne Medical Group reviews
46 Lindesfarne Medical Group
Is a rip off. They charged our 21 daughter a full time student $85 for a standard appointment and blood tests which was fine. Then called her with her results being nothing wrong and charging her another $85.00 for the 3 minute call. When I called to query the charge with a rather distressed daughter, they were rude and non apologetic about the charge. We had been long standing patients with them for over 10 years. No more greed will get the better of you. You should be ashamed of your practices.
I have been sitting on this review for quite sometime to try and weigh up whether my thoughts on this matter are justified and now they are. I've been coming to this clinic for the last few years and a particular older receptionist has been there just as long. I don't believe she should be dealing with customers at the front desk. Some might say that it's the doctors job to have a bedside manner but i disagree, all staff should. Especially those dealing with customers face to face. She comes across rude and you would think everyone has a bad day, she's had a bad few years. Remove her from customer interactions.
I tried to book a straightforward short appointment. At first the receptionist offered a 15 min slot, but when I mentioned I was a new patient but only needed a repeat prescription she still insisted on a half hour appointment. She then claimed the original appt slot was no longer available, only to have it miraculously available again when I insisted I only needed and wanted 15 min.
I was so fed up with that pushiness and dishonesty I told her to just forget it, I'll go elsewhere. I have never had any other surgery insist on such a long first appt, as it's usually enough to just fill in the paperwork form. They are clearly out to make as much money as they can. Not impressed with the customer service.
PS More recent comments from other reviewers make it clear they still haven't addressed the issues of their terrible reception staff. One has to wonder if the doctors are even aware of the number of complaints about the receptionists.
I think that the doctors here are very knowledgeable and caring and they really do spend time with you to help figure out what's going on.
Compassionate, lovely receptionist who booked me an appointment to meet my needs.
Dr Churchward was incredibly kind and empathetic. A good listener. I felt looked after and cared for after my appointment, especially after having terrible experiences at other clinics with doctors who lacked empathy. Thank you all so much.
Whilst the Doctors are pretty good I think it is time to find a new surgery. Yesterday I waited half an hour (wasn't upset about it), but was in with the doctor 15min (I checked my watch) and when I went to pay I was charged $120 odd dollars? I quizzed the front desk receptionist and was just fobbed off. I would complain, but they don't have even have an email address I could send one to.
Getting really tired of the wait times here. Was bad enough before covid hit. Now there’s wait times up to 2 hours. Doctors are lovely, but paying over $80 for this private practice is not really worth it anymore.
A wonderful family practice that all my family have used since 1987. I have the utmost confidence in everyone at the practice. Lovely, helpful front counter administrative staff and I particularly like the fact of so many women doctors.
Our wait time is usually over 1/2 an hour today however it is well over 2 hours. I rang after an hour to find out what the issue was and was told that yes the dr is running late. Really!? ! No kidding I was then informed that she would advise the dr that we were ready and waiting.
I understand that the first day of a lockdown is going to be hectic but we have had this before so procedures should be in place in the event of it happening again.
The Drs at Lindisfarne are good, though, I have had a couple of appointments with Drs other than my regular and that has not always been even acceptable. As for the receptionist, Liz would be the least helpful or friendly but there have been occasions when I have experienced rudeness. This does seem to be a prerequisite for the job as I’ve seen it and been on the receiving end at various other locations.
We are still waiting for our 12: 15 appointment it is now 2: 36.
Receptionists are extremely rude. When you’re dealing with someone who’s seeking medical care or has a child that needs medical care, a bit of patience, empathy and kindness would go a long way. I get better service at Centrelink. But I love all the doctors I’ve been in contact with, so a small price to pay to get good care and when I tried other surgeries, the receptionists were just as bad. Maybe it’s a thing: being a receptionist for a medical group makes you hate life.
Great doctors. But the receptionists really need to get their act together. They're just getting progressively ruder as time goes on.
Dr Amanda Fraser is the best doctor I’ve ever had. Since finding her (16 years after diagnosis of a server condition) my health has improved expedentially.
The doctors and lab workers were friendly and helpful, and the wait time was not that bad (around 25 minutes for me), but the receptionists were rude, dismissive and seemed thoroughly uninterested in me. When I called recently as I was confused about who to contact for the results from some tests, they were dismissive and reacted like I had said it was their fault, and made me feel frustrated and angry. The doctors were good, but this clinic desperately needs new receptionists with actual customer service training.
I’ve been seeing Dr Fiona Sluchniak for years now and she’s always taken good care of me. I have a lot of health issues but she takes care of them one by one and makes me feel very comfortable during our appointments. I’ve also had no issues in the past with reception, they’ve always been nice and professional to me.
Great doctors. But the receptionists really need to get their act together. They're just getting progressively ruder as time goes on.
Do not see Jill Watson. She was running late, I waited 45minutes and when it’s my turn to see her, she rushed me through and when I asked questions, she literally told me that other patients are waiting, and just handed me the reference book of specialists and told me to just pick someone else for further consult, so she could get going. Unbelievable!
I have been going here for well over a decade and I find the practice do the best they can to make people comfortable. My GP is Mary Cameron and she is a great down to earth Doctor who listens to me which is appreciated. If I had an issue, it would be the waiting time but given I am never shoved out before I have what I need addressed, then really, it is not an issue. I make sure I have a lot of time allocated and take a book with me.
I have been going to this practice since I was a child and it has been nothing but a nightmare with brief periods of respite.
The doctors are terribly unorganised - I have been to this surgery and had to wait over an hour at least 10 times.
The desk staff, depending on their mood, are either helpful or completely arrogant and rude. I had a phone call the other day where I was berated and put down by one of the reception ladies for missing an appointment. NEWS FLASH HONEY I do not answer to you nor is it your place to speak to me like that! I am (or was after this) a paying customer who deserves respect, not to be treated like an unruly child.
The most recent fiasco however, which has prompted me to write this review, is that I had a standard appointment today with Dr Daniel wang. He called me in late at 12: 37 when my appointment was at 12: 30 - that was fine not much of a wait so all good! The consult went fine - I had to get two referrals to various places for health reasons, and organise to get stitches taken out. The majority of the appointment was spent with the doctor simply filling out the one page form - let me reiterate that it was a single page! And then printing off one other bit of paper. The appointment took exactly 14 minutes - I know this as I made a call before the appointment and received a text afterwards while outside his office. I was then directed to the nurse who took out my stitches which took all of 2 seconds!
I then proceeded to go to reception to pay and was told I had been charged for a double appointment. When I questioned this the reason I was given was that the doctor has to read my file before I go in, I had multiple issues to address, the appointment ran for 22 minutes (a complete lie) and I had stitches taken out (by the nurse - a completely different person and I was told this would not be charged for when the stitches were put in in the first place at the same practice!).
This is utterly ridiculous and a complete abuse of his position as well as a true depiction that this practice is money hungry and money hungry only.
SINCE WHEN HAS A PATIENT HAD TO FACTOR TIME INTO THEIR APPOINTMENT FOR THE DOCTOR TO READ THEIR FILE? !
SINCE WHEN ARE YOU ONLY ALLOWED TO ADDRESS ONE ISSUE IN A SHORT APPOINTMENT?
HOW DO I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT I WAS IN THAT ROOM FOR 14 MINUTES FROM 12: 37 TO 12: 51 DUE TO LOGS ON MY PHONE BUT HE CAN STILL SOMEHOW HAVE A CLOCKED TIME OF 22 MINUTES?
SINCE WHEN HAS THE DOCTOR NOT HAD TO INFORM YOU THEY WILL BE CHARGING YOU EXTRA FOR THAT APPOINTMENT?
I WAS TOLD GETTING THE STITCHES OUT WOULD BE FREE SO HOW IS THAT PART OF THE COST? !?
IF HE HADNT TAKEN SO LONG FILLING OUT A SINGLE PAGE OF A FORM I WOULDNT HAVE BEEN CHARGED SO MUCH SO THINK ABOUT THAT AND HOW IT IS LITERALLY HIS JOB TO DO THAT.
Not only has this practice now lost a loyal customer of 20 years, I will be reporting them to Medicare, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and making sure that every single person I come into contact with knows just what a complete joke this practice is.
I can't fault the service.
Dr Terry Pitsicas did something very right some 30yrs ago opening this place.
Reception staff are rude and have no customer service I had been a patient for nearly 7 years but had a terrible experience where I was brought to tears by the front of house staff. Disgusting behaviour. People deserve to be treated with respect not like an inconvenience.
