Lindisfarne Medical Group reviews
46Only appointment available with my regular GP was in 3 weeks time and when I finally got there I was told would have to wait about 1 hour to see the doctor. They asked me if I wanted to have lunch while I wait. Then I asked to cancel because I couldn’t wait for an hour they said I would still be charged because it’s the policy. About a minute later someone called me saying I could cancel free of charge.
Many patients going to Lindisfarne have complicated, debilitating, life-threatening health issues. The doctors are well-trained, humanitarians with a true interest in medicine and health care. So it is quite understandable that there are times when one must wait a bit longer than one might expect. The quality of health care at Lindisfarne is second to none.
Wish I could give a zero rating to this practice. The only reason I've been going occasionally is to see Dr. Amanda Fraser, a fantastic GP that listens attentively and leaves no stones unturned. Since she has left the practice, I requested for my records to be transferred to her current place of practice but I was told to pay $30 over the phone just for them to transfer patient's record to a different practice. Later that day I realised that their "Fees and Policies" section on their website stated no such fees. Furthermore, there's the inconvenience associated with the "no email communication". Oh, and not to mention that rude receptionist who thinks the whole world owes it to her.
The receptionists at this practice are dreadful. I had a phone appointment and the receptionist forgot to tell the Dr, second time I stood at the counter being totally ignored for quite a few minutes when the receptionist got out of her chair and walked away - no acknowledgement at all, third time, I returned a missed call from the Dr, was told that she (receptionist) would inform the Dr of my call, but didn't. Absolutely useless service.
Worst reception call ever had, cannot even confirm a date that can book vaccination. 0 willingness to explore the options.
I have been a patient here for decades, in the past few years it has become evident that some reception staff have developed a combative attitude when interacting with patients. Not only are these two reception staff insensitive and impatient but have assumed a quasi-medical demeanor which is outside their scope of responsibility and expertise. After raising this as a concern with the Practice Manager there has been no discernable improvement in these lacklustre performances. I am now enjoying a professional experience at a rival Medical Practice.
The lady that sits at the right hand side of the reception desk here is incredibly rude and abrupt.
I arrived here in pain from a recent serious injury needing to see a doctor for surgeon referrals, I was told to put on a mask when I was never sent a reminder msg about them. After buying one she told me I needed to put my mask on while standing on crutches and grunted at me while I mentioned I need to sit down first because I have a broken leg.
She had no care for my wellbeing and pressured me off the phone while speaking sarcastically. The doctor I saw here had not sent me any referrals for surgeons two days on, after telling me I needed to see one urgently. Apparently this was of no concern to the receptionist and she had no need to help me or speak to me in any respectful manner.
I’m sure the practice is fine but this lady needs to be trained in human decency. I am now seeing another gp for a surgeon referral.
I’m happy to wait my turn, I’m happy to wait for an appointment but I draw the line when the receptionist lies to me. I had just finished an appointment with a doctor not an hour before and when I called that afternoon to make another appointment the receptionist was rude, abrupt and made out like the whole world was imploding as no doctors were available. I asked about my doctor I had just seen and she said he called in sick today also…I just seen him an hour ago. Think it’s time to transfer my files to another surgery. I’m glad I’ve read other people complaining about their receptionist and it’s not just me. She should not have a job if she continues to lie! Not happy…I would NOT recommend putting your health in this mobs hands!
My Dr is excellent the reception staff need to improve on their service to customers they can be rude and dismissing and can see your waiting to be served and pretend that they have not seen you
Attitude at the front desk unfortunately. Very rude indeed.
Please keep in mind that people are going through a lot when they come to a clinic and they are under a lot of pressure. The last thing they need is attitude from you when they coming in or making a phone call. It just feels like you don't want to do anything to help!
I've been going to Lindisfarne for the past 22 years. Yes, sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but that's what iPhones are for! I've only dealt with two doctors over the years. My first GP moved after several years, and I've had the same GP ever since.
Both have been wonderful and very concerned about my welfare. The reception staff is very friendly - but busy! They recognise me on sight and are very kind, but always professional. I wouldn't have been there for 22 years if I were dissatisfied.
I've decided to go somewhere else after years of coming here, mainly because of the lack of professionalism and manners of the receptionists
Dr Amanda Fraser goes above and beyond for my girls. It’s also the only place I feel comfortable taking them for immunisations.
The good:
I have several doctors here and they seem mostly ok
though: once I saw a young (new?) guy who did not know a lot and actually misdiagnosed me.
Fortunately I went for a second opinion elsewhere and was referred to RPH
On another occasion I found out that the doctor had made notes on my file that are incorrect.
Not good.
the bad:
the reception and office staff are a nightmare
they are unorganised, not friendly and not all that helpfull
will I go again?
yes, but I'll avoid the reception staff as much as possible
and I will be very careful who I see
I have never been to Lindisfarne and gotten in to see the doctor without at least a 45 minute wait.
Last time (and it will be the last time) I saw one of the female doctors, literally 5 minutes: $90
Even the receptionist thought it was a bit steep.
Anther time I was seen by one of the younger doctors who misdiagnosed me, ended up having to go to RPH.
Goodbye Lindisfarne I've had it wasting time and letting you take risks with my health.
Literally never on time.i have seen about 4 different doctors and not a single one has ever been on time.they are always at least 30 minutes late.
I have been living away from Mt Lawley for a long time, now I'm local again. Since divorcing I have become very tired of attempting to care for my families health when we've not had the luxury of private health insurance the care of bulk billing gp's/practices is so vastly different. It has become, literally, majority of the time a complete waste of time. Dr Rox is new but it was a treat to be treated with empathy and professionalism. Saving up already for next time, because we're worth it!
Dr Roslyn Rice is one of the best GPs in Perth! Only problem theres a 2 week wait list to see her
20 years as a patient and highly recommend.
Melissa and Liz at reception have always been very helpful.
Dedicated professionals. You'll know the difference when the condition you have really matters.
