Just wanted to take the time to show appreciation towards Dr Matthew. Kaslo, our rescue Kelpie has a great deal of anxiety when visiting the vets; shaking uncontrollably (as I am sure many others do!) Dr Matthew took the time to sit on the floor with Kaslo and let her approach him first, before beginning his examinations. He was thorough, understanding and transparent throughout the entire consult. I left feeling confident, with a clear understanding of our next steps, how to medicate her (and why we were using each medication) and he also assured me EVH is always available for phone consults if need be. Dr Matthew is personable, knowledgeable and shows great care for patients, and the extra needs of timid rescues! Thank you!

I cannot thank all the staff enough for thier loving care they gave to Apollo, Dr Steph, Dr Lex and staff got him through a tricky life saving operation. You guys are awesome!

Thank you to the team at EVH!
The way the hospital is run despite the current conditions and restrictions made me feel very at ease even though I was panicking inside after Delilah ate an entire bag of kibble without my knowledge.

I truly appreciated the love shown toward Delilah and the way the vet attending her handled the situation, being able to see the humour in Delilah being a giant kibble vacuum (despite me thinking she hadn't eaten for at least 24 hours).

The whole process was clearly explained to me every step of the way and I never once felt in the dark. I was given options and overall felt the communication was amazing.

Thank you again, Delilah is feeling much better!

While I didn’t come to the EVH for a nice reason (emergency pts for my beloved rat Zeus) the staff there were amazing. Despite how sick he was the staff handled him amazingly and kept him calm the whole time we were there even keeping the room dark while we said goodbye to keep him as calm as possible. I cannot thank the team at EVH enough for making my boys final moments memorable and and least stressful as possible.

The 2nd of January was a terrible day for our family. Roxy our family dog, a 3yo German shepherd, had a bloat, we rushed her here and they immediately took her inside, they did their best but the vet told us that her chances of survival, even with the surgery, weren't good at all. Hubby was at work and I was there with my 9yo and 3yo daughters and we were all very distressed. I honestly was so upset and devastated that I couldn't even try to make it better for my daughters, Roxy meant so much to me and to us, and the vet saw that, he took the time to explain to my eldest what was going on and walk her through all the euthanasia process. He did an amazing job, they were very busy but every staff took their time to at least give us a very understanding and compassionate look. I felt that they care about their job, we felt understood, they care about their patients and took very good care of Roxy. We will definitely go back to them. They took very good care of her and let us stay with her and say our goodbyes. Thank you for everything you have done, it meant alot to our daughters seeing that you took really good care of Roxy. We will miss her forever.

*Bad Review Hospital EVH*

Hi, my name is Luis Enrique and I’m 10 years old. My family and I had to go through a very bad experience at the Emergency Vet Hospital at Christmas Eve.

My dog Zeus had an accident and was taken to the Emergency Vet Hospital at Thursday Afternoon. He had to stay the whole night, doing surgery.

At Christmas Eve was the most important and busiest time of the year for my parents. The clinic contacted my dad at 10am to let him know that it was ok to pick Zeus up but my dad told them that he couldn’t possibly pick up Zeus in that moment because he was very busy, but he was doing his best to finish as soon as possible.

My mum finished her work quickly and went straight to pick Zeus up around 5pm. As soon as she arrived in the clinic, she paid the invoice and was asked to sit in the waiting room. 1 hour after, she was still waiting but was getting late to pick myself and my 6yrs brother at Zigzags. She asked the reception and was informed that the process will take a bit more time and then she decided to pick us up and come back to the clinic.

As soon as my mum arrived at the clinic for the second time with us, my brother and I was excited to see Zeus. But the sooner we got in there, we were asked from a impolite lady to wait outside because my brother and I wasn’t wearing a mask. We were waiting outside the clinic for almost 40 minutes in a very hot day, until my brother started crying because he thought we wouldn’t spend Christmas with Zeus.

I encouraged my mum to go to the reception when I saw a kid my age not wearing a mask inside the clinic. My mum went in and politely asked why is it so long to pick up our dog and the lady rudely mentioned that because my dad couldn’t pick up Zeus in the morning, she didn’t see any problem for us to wait as well as the clinic was very busy. For the lady at the counter, I thought it was some sort of a reverse punishment to my parents. After my mum asked why is the boy not wearing the mask inside the clinic, the lady said sorry and said that the other lady who asked us to wait outside misunderstood the rules and she was now happy for us to wait inside.

My brother was crying a lot to see my dog, my mum said “ why to take the payment for the invoice took only one minute and to have our dog back, we have to wait almost 3 hours if he was ready to go home since 10am? Then a very nice guy from the clinic finally said to us “ no guys, don’t be stressed, I can go through the post-operative instructions right now with you and you can take your dog. ” Finally we got Zeus back and it was a very special moment for us to see our dog again after the terrible incident.

I would like to say thank you to all the staff that took care of Zeus and make it possible to have our dog safe for our Christmas night, I would give 5 stars review for you all. I feel sorry for the very poor customer service of the clinic. For a place that receive many after hours emergency cases, they should be more compassionate with the pets owners as no one is ready to deal with unexpected circumstances like my parents had with my dog.

Also, in front of the clinIc I saw a behaviour sign about intolerable behaviour and we should just add more information in your sign to make this rule fair for both sides.

Failed to xray our dog which we later found had a perforated bowel. He ended up passing. No apologies, no care. Our devastation at losing our dog that was taken in 14 hours previously and knowing if they had found the issue then he could have been saved at that time is indescribable.

Our boy was hit by a car, their compassion and care was above and beyond. Calm and caring to both us and our dog.

On Friday the 10th of September, we went to this vet as our cat had recently lost her appetite. They checked her bloods and did an ultrasound and came back with the most vague news. “Oh I think it could be cancer”. “Our ultrasound machine isn’t good. You can pay another $500 for a better one”. “It’s best to bring your cat in after 2 days even though we don’t know that she’s suffering”. We proceeded to get a specialist (external source) to do another ultrasound and it was confirmed lymphoma with detailed information. However, before she went under the anaesthesia, the vet asked if she’d had anything to eat and yet we weren’t informed that she was supposed to be fasting, in which she replied “I’ll just assume they told you” and proceeded to tick the checklist. The vet once again told us to bring her back ASAP to put her down. We opted to go for an at-home euthanasia with Perth Vet Care where we met a very compassionate veterinarian who came to our house and informed us that we should not let this vet pressure us into putting her down so quickly and told us that our cat still had more time left. And thus that led to us having an additional 5 weeks with our baby girl. And when it was time for her to go, she let us know and she peacefully went in the comfort of her own home with the assistance of PVC. There are some good vets at Wangara, however, many apathetic ones just rushing to do their task at the cost losing time with our fur-babies. I hope no one has to go through such an experience, nor should they be rushed into making such a drastic decision so quickly.

Not too ago we brought in our cat because he wasn't able to urinate. Staff said they had to immediately operate, and when we picked him up the following day staff charged us $3K (some of which we had to borrow from friends) and gave us 5 different medications that we had to administer. After a few days, there was no improvement whatsoever in our cat. We contacted the vet twice and they said that some cats don't respond well and that we should simply "keep an eye on him".

A day later, when it was obvious to us that our cat wasn't getting better, we took him to a different vet for a second opinion. That vet told us the diagnosis from the previous vet was wrong. The vet took our cat off the medication, performed a small procedure and kept him in overnight. A day after release, our cat was back to normal and we were so happy.

I don't know what would've happened to our cat if we had continued with the advice and medication from the EVH vets. Every time we chatted to them we they were less than helpful and took a "wait and see" approach. Not once did they appear to show any true concern. We will never go back there again. Wasted $3K! But more importantly, we put our beautiful cat's life in jeopardy. Can't believe they completely misdiagnosed him, and then showed little regard for our cat when we told them he was not getting any better.

I have waited a bit of time before writing this review because I didn't want to write it while I was furious and incredibly upset.

I can not thank the staff at EVH enough.

We had our cat stay with them for a number of days in their oxygen chamber as he was struggling to breathe. We were in absolute of awe of how friendly and compassionate each of the staff members were.

They happily allowed us to visit our sick pet during his stay and were more than happy to answer our questions and give us regular updates on how he was doing.

Thanks to the amazing team at EVH we can gratefully say that our kitty is now home, comfortable and stable while living with heart failure.

You're simply the best!

We came in last night because our beautiful Ronnie was sneezing to no end and it was starting to really worry us as her mouth was foaming and she started sneezing blood, too
The wait was a little long (but it's understandable as there were a lot of people in there) but as soon as we were seen, they explained that it was likely that something was stuck in her nose, so they put her under anesthetic and had a look
Lo and behold, she had what looked to be about a 2 inch long grass seed lodged in her nose!
If it wasn't for the wonderful vets and nurses here, this could've been much worse for us, thank you so much to you all!

I just cannot speak highly enough of this place. We turned up at 6pm on a Saturday evening worried sick about our fur baby. The receptionist was kind, professional and helpful and we were with a vet, Courtney McGrath, in about ten minutes. Courtney was absolutely fantastic, she was so kind and caring to our dog Molly, she took such personal care with her, cleaning her up and then quickly and correctly diagnosing the problem and the necessary treatment. For the whole experience we paid about half what we had paid a day before to another vet in ordinary working hours who had completely missed the problem. Molly was almost instantly better that night. Since then we have had a few concerns and each time we have been able to ring up and get the necessary information/reassurance almost immediately from staff on the desk. As I said, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you EVH, and thank you Courtney for your skill, your professionalism, and your kindness.
