My cat was almost put down after visiting EVH over the holidays.
After the money that we poured into them to not even get a precise/ accurate diagnosis is beyond frustrating. Let alone have my 7year old cat almost put down with healthy bloods and urinalysis results.
Once our regular vets were open days later they were able to get proper/ easy slides done to for exact diagnosis (was a type of crystal in his urine) for less than quarter the price.
He will now go on the live a completely healthy and normal life with the correct medication and remedies.

It's incredibly disheartening and frustrating when a vet doesn't do proper investigations and you're left with the possibility of having to put your cat down. It's a relief that our normal vet was able to quickly find the problem and provide an easy diagnosis. It's even more frustrating when you consider the high costs charged by EVH despite their lack of expertise. Writing this review and expressing our disappointment and detailing our experience could help others make informed decisions.

It's unbelievable how something that seemed so complicated at first turned out to have such an easy diagnosis. It just goes to show the importance of finding a vet who really knows their stuff and has good intentions.

Amazing Vets and nurses. My furbaby Sally received excellent care and attention. Communication, examination excellent and explaination by diagnostic testing exceptional service. The Vet treating my Sally gave 100% to both Sally and myself.

DO NOT GO TO THIS VET- WRONG TREATMENT AND OVER CHARGED.

After a kangaroo attack, I entrusted the health and well-being of Dexter to the wangara emergency veterinary staff and I encountered a serious issue in regard to the diagnosis and treatment administered during this visit.

After the initial consultation, we were quoted a fee of $8,000-10,000 and asked to pay half before any treatment was administered. We paid and left him in the team's care under the impression he was going in for surgery that evening after appropriate diagnostic tests were completed. We then received a call at approx 10: 30 pm and were informed it was determined that Dexter's injuries were too serious for this clinic to treat, and it was the team's expert diagnosis that, along with the obvious abdominal trauma, he had 'several' broken ribs and air in his lung cavity, which required him to be transfer to Murdoch trauma care and he would need an oxygen tank for transport. I was advised that this clinic did not have a tank, and I would need to source one from another vet before collecting him. We did this and called the clinic to let them know we were on our way. We arrived and were made to wait and listen to Dexter howling in pain for at least 45 minutes before he was discharged back into our care. Based on your staff's professional opinion, a specific course of treatment was recommended and communicated to Murdoch Vet Hospital.

Upon arrival at Murdoch Vet (midnight), he was diagnosed by their emergency team as not having any broken ribs, there was no air in his lung cavity, and he was not as 'bad' as this team had indicated. We left Murdoch at 2 am and the wangara vet had still not transferred any paperwork or diagnostic results to the Murdoch clinic - a further disappointment in the quality of care provided by this vet.

After a comprehensive examination by the Surgeon at Murdoch on Thursday morning, it was confirmed that the initial diagnosis from this vet was incorrect.

This misdiagnosis and subsequent incorrect referral caused significant emotional distress for everyone involved.

It has now been over a week and we are still awaiting any communication on this matter- we have called several times snd the manager is never there.

The total bill from Murdoch was $8k for emergency care, surgery and 5 nights stay and a 5 page invoice of all the treatment provided. This vet charged $4k for the wrong information and we have no invoice or receipt.

EVH saved my cat Nico’s life. He had been recently diagnosed with diabetes on top of his IBD and I had been giving him too much insulin without realising. I had come home from work to find him barely alive, cold and stiff, after experiencing hypoglycaemia and potentially seizures. I didn’t think he’d make it that night but because of the EVH team he made a miracle recovery. They let me see him at his worst all hooked up and tremoring, as well as when he regained consciousness but was blind because they knew that I wanted to see him. They updated me regularly and were so kind, supportive, understanding and comforting. Because of them me & Nico have a second chance and I’ll be forever grateful. Nico has made such a magical recovery (the magic being veterinary science). My only issue is in myself because I don’t remember the name of each vet I met on the after hours team that night as I was so stressed and anxious. Thank you so much everyone.

This is not my personal experience but I am still disappointed none the less. My friend and her partner came in at around 11am today, July 15th as many vets she had called about her cat had said to go to emergency. Her cat has an infected eye due to a supposed cat attack, has abnormal breathing and overall looks unhealthy. She was waiting for over 4 hours with her cat sending video updates of him clearly struggling and not getting visibly any better. 4 hours of waiting and still not getting seen they had no choice but to leave. I have no idea whether the clinic was busy or not or if the vet was present but as an aspiring veterinarian this is not the example I intend to follow. My friend still doesn’t know what is wrong with her cat and she is very upset that she had to take him home in the same state he had arrived in.

I brought my dog here on Monday due to concerning symptoms of pale gums, laboured breathing and a high temperature. The evaluation that followed led to a diagnosis of congenital heart disease/failure, characterized by an enlarged heart and a poorly functioning left heart valve, necessitating lifelong medication. Furthermore, the vets interpretation of the ultrasound and blood test results indicated the possibility of cancer/lymphoma, Cushing’s syndrome, and pancreatitis.
In light of these findings, the veterinarian presented the following options, to administer (unnecessary) lifelong heart medication to “make her more comfortable”, or to seek specialised care (incurring a cost of upwards of $1500 for a consult), or much to my distress, to consider euthanising her (quote “it might be time to say goodbye”). There was no way that my dog who was perfectly healthy the day prior could have developed symptoms from such severe illnesses overnight so without hesitation I went to the specialist hospital (PVS Osbourne park). If I had not taken her to PVS to get a second opinion my dog would have died from septicaemia and respiratory distress due EVH’s misdiagnosis of aspiration pneumonia (chest infection).
The veterinarian at the PVS instantly identified a chest infection (aspiration pneumonia), a crucial diagnosis that appeared to have eluded your team. They were able to rule out any issues with her heart, stating it was functioning at a perfectly healthy level and was of normal size for her breed. Urgent intervention, encompassing IV antibiotics, oxygen therapy, and fluids, was swiftly administered, ultimately saving my dog's life. Remarkably, your establishment considered such interventions unnecessary due to concerns over her purported heart condition. This, coupled with the apparent oversight of the emerging chest infection, raises major concerns.
The subsequent opinion provided by the specialists, who based their evaluation on the same medical data shared with your team, gravely underscored the gravity of the situation. The differential diagnoses prompt deep concern over the thoroughness of the initial evaluation. The initial evaluation at EVH, for which I paid $670, resulted in a series of inaccurate and concerning diagnoses. Subsequently, seeking the proper care my dog urgently needed, I incurred additional expenses of $1800 at PVS for necessary triaging. On top of that, an extra $825 was required for the vital treatment she received.
I find myself profoundly disheartened by this experience and deeply troubled by the perceived negligence and lapses in care exhibited by the actions of the attending veterinarian at EVH, it prolonged the suffering of my poor dog, not to mention the heart ache and trauma I endured as her owner having being told to consider euthanising her over what ended up being a chest infection. The recurrence of similar experiences, as indicated by reviews, reinforces the urgency of addressing these concerns. Thankfully, my dog is now well on her way to a full recovery, having received exceptional care at the specialists' facility in Osbourne Park. Consider other options for you beloved pets before visiting EVH.

I don’t often write reviews but I feel like I had to do one in this case. The team at EVH Emergency Vet Hospital are amazing. I had to rush my girl Lexie to them on Monday night. From the start they were nothing but understanding and supportive. Unfortunately there wasn’t much we could do, but they allowed me to be there and hold her during the entire process. Even allowing me to come back today with my family to say our final goodbyes. They explained everything in detail and honestly made the situation that little bit easier knowing she didn’t suffer. I couldn’t thank the team here enough for everything!

I was really worried about my dog, we found a cut on his paw that looked infected and swollen. Couldn't get into our usual vet because they were fully booked but Evh was able to fit us in and see us even though they were really busy. Thank you to all who looked after our precious little man.

I took my spoodle Milo to EVH four days after surgery elsewhere to remove three lumps. He was obviously in pain and could barely walk by the time we arrived. He is a nearly 13 year old diabetic and scary to see him so quickly deteriorate. The vet hospital was obviously frantic on the long weekend and short-staffed, however, Milo was treated with kindness and respect from the minute we walked in the door. We waited for a senior vet, (I'm sorry I cant remember your name), who recognised the seriousness of Milo's condition. All in all, he spent two nights in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Nothing was too much trouble for EVH and we were kept up-to-date about his condition and allowed to visit him too. Vetinarian Lex Quah cared for Milo during this time and I cannot speak highly enough of his care and communication for us all. There were others involved in his care also, I'm sorry I cannot remember everyone's names, but a huge thank you! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend EVH.

We honestly do not know what else to say other than THANKYOU! The amazing team at EVH saved our 3 year old shepherd, Roczen after he suffered from GVD. Whilst he is still recovering and is still being monitored for any potential complications, the EVH team have given him the best chance to make a full recovery. Dr Steph, Dr Whitney and the entire surgical team that were working on Monday evening went above and beyond and our boy is now home with his family because of the outstanding expert care he received. Dr Steph was calm and confident in what can only be described as an extremely traumatic time for our family. She gave us clear advice, compassionate guidance and an honest and accurate estimate as to the costs that would be involved. Our expectations were closely managed and we felt completely informed at all steps of the process. It is so clear that the entire team have devoted their lives to helping animals. Even after a huge emergency surgery Roczen was happy to return for his first check up today to see all of his new friends which speaks volumes as to the care that is provided to all of the animals. Thank you so much to all of the team. We so appreciate everything you have done.

We would like to thank the Nurses and Veterinarian Doctor Duana at EVH that helped us say our final goodbye to our beautiful beagle Banjo 5/3/23. You were all very considerate, compassionate and respectful. We would like to thank all of you for care you gave to Banjo and for making this awful process more bearable

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I rang up with concerns of my dog. The nurse/receptionist brushed me off completely, I’m utterly disgusted.

Will never go back to this clinic. Unfortunately being a weekend we were limited on were to go, so chose this clinic. We were told by the first vet to save our dogs life it would be 10k or euthanasia. Thank God in the heat of the moment we chose to fight for him at any cost. They failed a basic procedure, puncturing his bladder in the process. Then the receptionist had the nerve to laugh at us when settling the bill saying wow that's alot of money.
To make it worse we still had to find another vet asap because they couldn't do the surgery and did more damage trying.
Thank god for our amazing vet who helped our little boy and is now on the mend.
Will never recommend this place, and if you have to go here, don't be bullied into paying a ridiculous price or euthanasia

These guys know their stuff and being open 24hrs helped me out. Unfortunately last two times I've been there both times it's been bad news but at least they were quick in diagnosing and at a reasonable price.
A big thanks from me.

Could've ended tragically for my dog as the vets here missed a lodgement that was 7cm long that had gone under his tongue and impaled his throat, despite multiple X-rays and being told he was fine and just had a sore throat. Took my boy in 2 days later as he was still drooling blood and not able to eat or drink and sat there for 4 hrs while i was bumped for a dog who had eaten a sultana and another pup who had a sore bum. Not sure how they work out priorities in this place. Thank God I took him to Dr Adrian at ocean keys vet who saw the problem after just a glance at the xray. This place is just a money making production line.

Most expensive 24 hour vet i’ve been quoted for a c-section. Our local vet charges $1800 they quoted $4000-5000. Complete rip off beware

In response to the reply, This included other 24 hour emergency vets, including Vet24 which is I believe a larger vet hospital with dedicated wards also for cats and dogs….

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the absolute treatment my Golden retriever, Harley, received at EVH from Dr Hadden Thompson, Dr Muhammad Bhyat and Vet Nurse Lauren Bloodworth, who went above and beyond to care for Harley when he was rushed into EVH after losing movement in his back legs. Harley is at home now and we are monitoring him closely as per the Drs advice. Thank you so much for being so caring during a very stressful time and for making Harley comfortable

I could not recommend evh Wangara enough. We went in with my dog who had sadly passed and their compassion and care was more than I could have ever hoped for. They made this awful experience so easy and calming. I can’t thank the staff enough. I’m glad you are looking after my baby until she is taken to rest. Thankful doesn’t even come close to how I feel.
