Awesome Mexican. Try the truly excellent Mole icecream with an aged Mezcal on the side. Unique and yummy

We were a group of 9 with 3 kids and came here for dinner.
It is on busy Beaufort Street opposite the Queens Hotel but conveniently located near a public carpark.
Interior is quite open and there are 2 levels. If you are seated on the lower level close to the bar it can get a bit busy with more people traffic than in the upper levels.
Music a bit on the loud side so conversation can be hampered.
Service was very good with attentive helpful and informative waitpersons.
Food was also very good and the variety meant that even fussy eaters could find sonething appealing. We ordered different tacos and salads all of which were flavoursome and authentic. Standouts were the roast pork and fish tacos the meatballs and a spicy potato dish. Almost all dishes had verying degrees of heat and spice so if you are bringing kids make sure you ask when ordering.
Alcohol prices on the high side.
Its a place more conducive for younger adults than for seniors and being a senior myself I found it an interesting venue with good food but dont think i will return in a hurry hence the 4 stars rather than 5

Delicious authentic Mexican food, delightful margaritas and friendly staff - cannot recommended the amazing PALÉTA dessert enough! Will be back:)

We just want to thank you so much for our meal. We got the steak tacos, pork belly tacos and the nachos which was awesome. The food was all incredible and we were stuffed. Thanks again and we cant wait to visit tou guys in person for round two.yummy to the max!

A great and authentic Mexican restaurant with a good atmosphere. Service was good and the food was delicious. The cocktails are a must.

Great food and cocktials but the table service was very lacking and staff seemed quite rude when they finally came to our table to take our orders. We also got rushed out the door due to the next booking being here so felt very rushed and hence not long after leaving we discovered we had accidentally left a make up bag (with very expensive make up in it) at the table that when I went back 5 minutes later to recover was mysteriously not there any longer (even though the next booking weren't even seated at the table yet, only had the table contents cleared) Not a pleasant experience this time around at all, so quite disappointing to be honest.

Have been here once before and enjoyed it. Second time was not as good. Had entrees as guacamole, beef quesadilla & tacos dorados.
All good, quesadilla was smaller portions than expected but good flavours.
Shared mixed grill for mains but looking through old reviews our didn't look anything like the photos. Meat-heavy which was good but went downhill from there. Very little rice, cold bean paste and 'seasonal veg' which was onion and jalapeno. When we asked about the veg we got a salad on the house which was delicious! Just didn't feel the mixed grill was good value at $45 and no actual vegetables (sorry onion).
Was told the menu was gluten free but unfortunately had the bloating and discomfort that comes from wheat/gluten product and not sure where this could have been from based on what we ordered.
A shame as it could have been amazing.

Didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in for a quick feed. Couldn't fault the service, margaritas and guacamole on the table in minutes. We had been told we would only have 45mins as the table was booked but we had plenty of time to enjoy a couple tacos each and even a bite of dessert. Thanks team, will be back!

What a lovely restaurant, the food there is amazing, the service really friendly also good recomendacions about drinks and meals from them, I have had a great experience definitely I'll be back there the atmosphere is unique.

I’ve have been following these guys since La Vida Urbana was opened until now at El Publico and I must say this restaurant leaves me speechless every time.

To start with the Guacamole is the perfect entree plus the famous Mogo Balls with two Mezcal Mules. The mushroom/beef quesadillas are a must.

Tacos were fresh and flavourful, without being to spicy. Fish, Asada and Birriadillas my favourites.

We ended up having the Mixed Grill, a signature dish from the restaurant. And not to mention the service. Friendly wait staff.

I've had Mexican food before and I thought that was great but the food in El Publico is just another level that transports you to a world of colors and flavors! Do not miss it! Be back for sure

What an amazing place! The servers are so friendly and helpful. My server offered great recommendations about the cocktails and food menu. Get the Mai Tai, you won’t regret it! I also tried mezcal, and it was really different but so good. The food speaks for itself. The mogo balls were a personal favourite.

We had the full four course menu plus alcoholic drink. I don't drink so they deduct price of drink from menu. Full as a goog Flavoursome, delicious and hearty - thank you Chef David

Great service and so accommodating, staff was very helpful with all dietary requirements. Food was fresh and beautiful. Best Mexican food in Perth. Will definitely be back.

Literally my favourite restaurant! The most amazing chef and staff ever! I absolutely love the waitress with dark hair and an accent sorry I don’t know her name but honestly love her, always makes you feel welcome and explains the menu so well! So sad the menu has changed because the empanadas we’re to die for!

New Irish waitress with red hair was extremely rude and was a bit of vibe kill. But the rest of the staff is like a big family that just make you feel so welcome ️️

One of my favourite places in Perth to experience what a real Mexican food tastes like. Cocktails are supreme with a wide range of Tequila & Mezcal flavours. Service is outstanding and precise
