Department of Transport reviews
76I went there to transfer my interstate license, but from the entrance queue, Wasn't had a good experience with ladies, but when I dealt with Qadeer where he helped me a lot and had done whatever he can do for any customer.
Lady with blonde hair who is dealing with the queues and sorting them is very lovely and has very clear instructions and patience. She does her job very well
Good old government departments. I honestly think they make it up as they go along. The wait time was acceptable. Took a ticket for boat registration, got called to the counter and the lovely*, friendly* lady took one look at the form and said "I can't do that".
Righto Ethel, if you can't do what your job requires, then what are you even doing there. She then proceeded to make my trailer registration as painful as possible, all the while muttering under her breath. I was eventually transferred to someone more pleasant and helpful, the only reason this review got more than 1 star.
Went for my open class motorcycle test here, the assessor was fair and reasonable throughout the whole test and gave me some good pointers at the end of it. Ladies at the front desk were also lovely and helpful
Took my special needs son to get a photo id. The staff were just wonderful and helpful. Thank you.
Can't recall a friendlier and more helpful Government Agency in decades! Staff pleasant and efficient despite having to handle a large number of customers!
Informative, nice lady at the front, efficient, patient guy at the counter.
30 mins in, completed and out.
Instructor got angry and abusive at my daughter for showing up to a test with a modern road worthy car with a foot brake instead of a hand brake. Granted my fault not hers but his attitude was appalling and aggressively failed my daughter before she put the key in the ignition. If he wanted to abuse me, my car and my ignorance then go ahead but my teenage daughter didn't need his abuse just wanting to try for her license. I cannot respect his attitude when dealing with people in general. I cannot stress more that he should not be dealing with the public as an occupation. No co-incidence that the rating of this department is less than 2.5 stars.
I passed my PDA there. The Assesor was fair and friendly (in my experience). I think the Assessor name was Bec.
Terrible service experience trying for my PDA test. Rude, unhelpful and unfair examiners that made me feel very uncomfortable.
I have decided I won’t return there as we can also watch various people failing each day. I highly recommend staying far away from this DOT.
Everytime I get told to come with a different document. And the person at counter says every processor is different. Been here 3 times already to apply for a check and get told to bring a different document everytime. Why can't they just say it to bring it all at once instead of wasting my time?
What can I say, probably one of the most useless places I've come across.picky with how you drive with some and not with others. Get a grip.seriously.
Thank for today 13th Friday counter 13, Cristina (please don’t mind if spell wrong) and her service last week as well.
She showed me extremely passion to help me find out my custom plate which was lost somewhere.
I been DOT for few times could not find the answer until I met Cristina, she used her enthusiasm and experience to help me got my plate back.
I appreciate very much.
5 stars service:)
Thank you
For over last 10 years when visiting DOT Mirrabooka I have experienced ALWAYS over 50% of counters (in theory available inside). NOT OPERATING. Today I saw around 100 people queuing outside of the building and they looked pretty frustrated. More there 1 hr outside queing one after one and then probably inside another half of an hour waiting time on chairs to be finally served. I think there is a very high chance to transmit covid-19 during such a long time! Its over 6% unemployment rate currently in WA! What is the problem to employ more staff and let the customers to be served in Mirrabooka DOT within 10-15 minutes (when there is no queue) instead of (on average). 2 hours or even more? I find this customer service attitude totally disappointing and disrespectful! I hope the management of Depart of Transport hopefully will fix that problem soon and DOT Mirrabooka will stop put people (during covid times) into an unnecessary, additional health or life risk. I also hope that those changes will be introduced very soon which before (not after!) the problem with covid transmission in DOT Mirrabooka (inside or outside of the building) appears here.
Very disappointed with the staff at the Mirrabooka DOT. Visited today (05.05.2021) with my mum who has cancer. I was refused entry because I did not have a mask on, even though I have an exemption. The lady then asked me for proof and when I explained that I didn't have to show her she threatened to call the police. So not only was she inbreach of the Disability Discrimination Act but also the Privacy Act as well. I them stood and waited out the front for my mum and watched the same staff member antagonise another customer over his mask and told him to calm down or she wouldn't let him in. Very disappointing from a government organisation that should know the rules.
To "prevent the spread of COVID19" customers are forced to queue around the corner. People are standing much closer together than if they were allowed inside and being processed slower putting more people at risk for longer.
Many of DVS' services are still not available online or by phone. There is not after hour form submission box.
Be smarter.
Avoid this DoT office at all costs. It is worse than a third world country. You are made to line up outside in harsh weather. No courtesy for the elderly, pregnant women nor ladies with little babies. Even third world countries will show some courtesy to the elderly and kids! Have more staff or upgrade your facilities to accommodate the needs of the community.
If you have a PDA test and meet an Indian guy named 'Jyal', you are guaranteed to fail. His attitude is the worst, and gives you pressure non stop. The guy is dead silent and he's always frowning and is in a bad mood. His instructions aren't very clear and needs to learn how to pronounce some of the words correctly. It's very ironic how he asks you if you speak English as a first language or not, because clearly he DOES NOT. He is known for not passing anyone depending. The person clearly does not enjoy his work, the manager of this place has to do something about it!
P. S. The receptionists are always nice, but sadly I can not give more than a single star because of this guy.
If you are looking to do a PDA do not go to here. This place is a money pit and assessors are rude and unfair don't waste your money here
Don't go here! It's just a money scheme they'll just fail you. You'll practise everything then no luck. Assessor 813 will say you won't be checking something when thats the only thing you'll be doing. Stares at the ipad and doesn't watch you and says you're not doing it good enough.
