I’m reviewing in comparison to other government services. Even though it’s a complete pain they’ve now repurposed my much nearer centre, I’ve used Cannington several times over the last year and found them to be quite efficient so long as all your paperwork is in order. Generally quite helpful and I’ve never had a problem with a number of different matters. Being our archaic government it’s probably not going to happen in my lifetime, but hopefully in the future they’ll reconsider the opening hours to allow better access, that or join us in the 21st century by brushing up on what exactly can be done online which at the moment is pretty limited.

Now online. No Notification! Just keep sending you more fine. And more fine. And more fine. Very bad system. Revenue rasing.

Terrible service. I have been to this place 3 times in the last 3 months to attempt to transfer my interstate licence. First two times it was so busy I couldn't wait for my ticket to be called. Today I took the afternoon off work. Took an uber to the place. Got a ticket from a very miserable lady. Sat for about 15 minutes then everyone was told to leave due to a building safety issue! Everyone left yet the staff remained inside telling everyone to go to the nearest centre, being Sucess or Midland. Extremely frustrating when I've taken the afternoon off work. Horrible place with terrible service.

Awful! I waited an hour with my ticket before noticing that they had skipped my number after I go and advise someone they give me a new number right to the back of the line! No apology and didn't get me to anyone sooner waste of my life

5 stars for the assessor Will, what a calm man, and calms your nerves right down with his cheery attitude.
Very clear in giving directions and very easy to talk to and asking again if forget any of his instructions.
Yes that’s right a right assessor does make it easier to pass the PDA. We all know what we need to do and in a right way do in the test as we prepare for it spending hours in the training but a moody assessor can just make it harder.
Cheers Will.

Arrived 3.45pm and was blocked at the door by an unfriendly big burly female staff member curtly saying they were closed despite the close time being listed as 4.30pm. No explanation offered. And also unwilling to help answer questions or give assistance on my enquiry even though she wasn't doing much else besides blocking the door.

I've been waiting 30 mins so far. Not even one number has been called avoid like the plauge!
Also they refuse to let you use there public toilets! Basic human rights? Not here!

We were there an hour before closing, the old lady called the ticket number at 4pm ish and gave us her incredible long face and told us we’re “too late, ” and she would rather spent another 20mins tried to teach us lessons by saying tons of nonsense than working effectively to finish the work and go home as soon? What kind of logic is this? We’re sorry about she probably had a long day, but I believe everyone else does, but it’s not the way you work. Her colleague next to her were already served/dealt with 3-4sets of ppl while she’s trying to pick the tiny things up, I’m starting to think this is a very serious discrimination. Counter#17, we hope to know her name, but she won’t probably let us know after all.

PDA Accessor Warning - Marina

This assessor does not assess driving candidate by the PDA standards.

For example, she STOPPED me making a turn to William Street (caused me stopped in the middle of the road - she ironically caused the actual hazard) when the coming car was at least 30 metres away and she said "do you not see how close that car is? ". Moreover, when I was travelling 45km on a 50km road, she said I was "too fast".

I passed my PDA test only a week after she assessed me, which proved everything she said and did to me during the PDA was NOT by the standards.

And for the record, this assessor Marina is notoriously known for failing people on purpose. There are tons of evidence online (just do the research), she might be ranked one of the worst PDA assessor in Perth.

Retraining is seriously needed, as what she assesses is inconsistent with the standards. Everything she said was different with what my instructors and my latest PDA assessor told me, as well as road rules in general.

Thank you Will. He is a very professional and friendly assessor. He was very understanding of the stress and was great at providing clear instructions and a calming environment that made the experience a lot nicer!

I took a PDA here and Will (#2366) failed me and told me I was “too much of a safe driver” all because I didn’t turn infront of a truck. If I had turned infront of it, I would have gotten T-boned! Very unprofessional.

Service was good, just need to hire better assessors.
I have went here for the fourth time now and gotten the same indian assessor. EVERY TIME he fails me! Every reason is so stupid. For example, I stopped to give way to pedestrians at the zebra crossing as there were pedestrians crossing, this assessor told me he marked me down just because I could have went first, but what sort of rule is that? You are meant to give way to pedestrians!

Another time I went, apparantly I "wasn't checking my mirrors" when I purposely exaggerated turning my head just so the assessor could see, but yet he told me I didn't even look.

This is unbelievable! Don't ever recommend going to this place. Went to Kelmscott and passed straight away. Even my instructor believes that Cannington is the worst place to go.

Look, it’s weird right? Someone leaving a five star review at the DoT? Who are they? Are they biased? No. I’m a real person.

Anyway, I ordered some new plates and went to pick them up, I expected it to be busy. And it was. All the staff seemed friendly, my partner and I got a ticket and jumped in the line for desk one. So we would either see the guy at desk one or our number would be called. Good plan right? Right!

There’s one guy working at desk one (he didn’t have a name tag on, probably for safety reasons since people be crazy).
The line was long.
When I tell you this curly haired guy who (no offence intended) looked like he hadn’t slept in two days was absolutely flying through people. Each person was asking him to do different jobs, he was the jack of all trades and a God.
He alone was holding up the bones of this DoT. He was easily doing the same amount of people as the rest of the desks combined. It was insane.
This man deserves a raise. He should be on $35 an hour AT LEAST.

Yesterday I went for my driving test in Cannington Licensing Centre. My examiner, Will (Assessor #2366) was very nice during my test, but there was this one situation where I was driving to a trafflic light and from the corner of my eye I saw him taking a glance at this female pedestrian which was fine at the time, but than while looking at the female pedestrian he instructed me to change to the left lane so while I was changing lanes I couldn't view the blind spot because the assessor was LITERALLY leaning back and still staring at the female pedestrian which blocked my sight for the blindspot and that resulted in me nearly colliding with another vehicle.
Cannington pls be more strict about hiring your assessors because even though they may seem nice, we can't afford having peeping toms as examiners. After this situation I feel like I have been scammed as my instructor should be focusing on my driving instead of observing females on the street.

There was this one specific indian assessor who has failed multiple people several times for the most irrelevant reasons. Definitely just trying to rip you off to make money. Don't recommend coming here, especially if you get that assessor.

A busy place which is fair enough. But I had a rude asian lady who served me. Sorry, I didn't get her name. But she has a hard to understand accent and I struggled to hear her with the mask on. She was rude and demanding. She must be sick of her job.
Don't go here unless your really have to.

Just had a driving test, everything was going well, my looking, flow and movement was perfect. There was a traffic light ahead and when I was about to pass the traffic light, it turned yellow which was too late for me to break, so as any driver would do I decided to proceed and go pass the traffic light.

Straight away examinator decides to fail me for passing a yellow light when clearly there was no time to break.

Having a test at the Cannington licensing centre is a waste of time and would not recommend booking one!

Did my PDA here, took a right turn at the round about. The assessor wantingly took me behind the Bin truck. I could have overtaken the truck but waited for the intersection to pass. Just because I waited little, he failed me straight away. The bin truck was moving, what if the truck had to turn, or become a safety hazard at the intersection. I feel they don't test you right here. Will not do my PDA in Cannington again. If we get an Assessor, like Dev we can never ever get on that road. Very Demotivating.
