Chapels on Whatley reviews
77 I love this place, eclectic decor and great atmosphere but the morning food and service could use a little up spec.
Lunch however, is true gourmet
Wonderful place. Friendly attentive staff, beautiful food, tea and cocktails, did not get annoyed that we stayed so long for High tea)
We came here for my friend's birthday, she is a tea lover, I am not.
She ordered a bottomless pot of tea, which came out in a gorgeous teapot and matching teacup, with vintage strainer. SO cute! Apparently the tea was amazing and my friend loved it. I had a mocha frappe, which I saw before I realised It was mine, and was mighty jealous of whose it was.then it came to me! And we both had scones with jam and cream, which arrived again on gorgeous vintage looking trays and crockery, looking divine. That is where it ended for the scones. They had been microwaved or something equally as deathly to them, and they were soggy and stodgy. Not at all what I would have expected from a tea house. I have eaten better at a garden nursery.
The place itself is beautiful. The owner is lovely, and was very happy to chat.
I would go back despite the scones. Perhaps it was a bad day? The good by far outweighed the bad.
I want to try their high tea. The setting is perfect for it!
THE best place for tea lovers. Recommend the bottomless teacup (china of course) with any choice of tea.
The food is lovely, the atmosphere is great, the service from the waiters is amazing.
The waiters that serve our table is cute and hope i could get her way of contact
High tea at Chapels on Whatley is everything high tea should be. Great food, good service and lots of tea. Generous, generous amounts of food, lovely crockery.
Went here with my husband for the first time yesterday. Beautiful venue, such an amazing vibe. The staff were all so wonderful and helpful. We ordered the pancake stack, savoury crepes, sea salt chips, spring rolls and samosas. Gorgeous presentation and speedy service, not to mention delicious. The teas were great and we adored the tea sets. 0 complaints, had an amazing time and keen to come back.
Celebrated my birthday breakfast here and I have to say it was absolutely amazing. The breakfast was delicious, the selection of teas absolutely divine! The service was fantastic and they were so helpful with tips as to which Teas to try.
We were able to sit outside in a lovely little garden with a very relaxing water fountain.
Definite 10 out of 10 recommendation!
A massive thank you to Keith and staff for their wonderful customer service for my 50th birthday celebrations. They all went above and beyond and myself and guests were very well looked after. Food and cocktails amazing and enjoyed by all
Lulu was very lovely, very helpful and knowledgeable. The teas are excellent quality and the cakes are divine. Lulu made this experience for us 10 out of 10
I have been here several times and have always had a wonderful breakfast! Excellent service and amazing vibes with delicious food and a massive range of teas to choose from. The owner, Kieth, is a great conversationalist with a nice personality. It seems that most of the one-star reviews mention him, as he has zero tolerance for rude customers but so long as you aren’t abhorrent to him or his staff you will have a pleasant experience:)
This place is the vibes, tea and food are fantastic. The vibe you get from here, is very is something else. Relaxing traditional music pear with tea, the best in my options. Order Singapore chilli prawns to share. Must try. Would not regret, will come here again.
I'm here again ordered mix berries for dessert.
Great range of all day breakfast, lunch and even dessert foods. The staff’s knowledge of tea was a stand out, with the they sell sourced directly from growers in China. 200+ tea varieties to chose from. Can’t wait to come back for high tea soon
Here’s what I found in my Singapore Curry Chicken Rice. (See below)
and we got told by the owner not to come back again.
Think twice before you step in.
Excellent breakfast venue. Amazing food, teas, and hosts. Definitely a must do when in Perth.
At the end of June I had the great pleasure of working with Keith to organise a surprise 70th birthday high tea fir 50 people.
It was seamless, so well organised, fabulous food and service. Nothing was too much trouble (even our desire to have a Christmas theme for the birthday person).
Thanks (belatedly) to all involved. The recipient is still in awe.
Unique choice of menu and a tea lover’s heaven! Absolutely quaint interiors and fabulous service
The two of us thoroughly enjoyed our brunch here. The coffin toast and omelette were delightful and the $5.50 tea tasting was such fun making our way through the variety of specialty teas.
I've been here many times, and I recommend Chapels on Whatley to Perthians and visitors for it's ambiance, character and teas.
Service was also very very good!
Had my hens high tea there. So many teas, great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. Highly recommend.
Terrible experience, booked a high tea, arrived and they had cancelled the booking and wouldn’t accommodate us. Staff were rude with no apologies
