Willow Grove Duck Inn reviews
68 The meals are large n tasty, the Guinness creamy, the service fast, the atmosphere authentic.
Would recommend
Friendly staff, really nice food, pleasant atmosphere. On a Sunday afternoon, they had two really good musicians to listen to. It is worth another visit, again.
I was amazed that this pub/restaurant was in tiny Willow Grove. The venue is beautifully presented and would be an ideal venue for functions, or just a casual drink or meal. The staff were friendly and made our stay a pleasure. The only (minor) criticism was that they were spread a little too thin and had a few shortages of chosen beverages. The food was great, and not expensive. The venue was incredible, and on a nice sunny day, the beer garden would be a joy. Only minutes from Moe, it is a hidden treasure.
I’m going to hope they were just having an off night. On a Saturday night the place was only about a third full. Our party of nine ordered on three separate orders and one of them was forgotten entirely meaning they ate well after we had finished, despite waitress keeping assuring us that they are just a bit busy. It wasn’t and the kitchen staff admitted later that it was forgotten so waitress did not check. A roast potato with all the trimmings on the specials board just came out as a roast potato with sour cream and nothing else. Sent back and it came back with a small piece of bacon in it. Just sucked it up it that point. Of nine orders on our table, six came out with something wrong. On the good side, the bar staff were great and the music was nice.
Restaurant stank, service horrible, food had hair in it (not that bad right…. It looked like pubic hair and there was heaps), waiter told me to wait my f$&king turn when i asked why I hadn’t received my food in over 90 minutes and to top it all off the waiters wouldn’t look into my eyes because i’m of african descent.
Good atmosphere great band good service we had a good Birthday party here recommend this place for sure
No good the staff were rude and food was barely cooked the tables were set up poorly and nor enough chairs when we pre booked
Dropped in for a couple of drinks on our way home. Was warm by the kanara and drink went down well. Just need may need to ask them to fill the glass to the top lol
Amazing service, food and entertainment. I would definitely come back time and time again just a beautiful place with lovey staff
I took my family for a catch up as I had been before and it was great but I'm afraid on the 29 Jan it was terrible all the chicken dishes were well overcooked, kids Palmas burnt, 6 chips each not satisfactory I had a steak supposed to be medium rare it was overcooked and very fatty, butter chicken very dry all much over priced, sorry won't be back again.
A wonderful experience of fabulous food, friendly service and Irish culture.
110 percent recommend.
Food is ok, nothing really bang on about. If they have that lady singing live there just leave. You can thank me later.
It's a cold winters night, the fire is roaring in the bar, there is an acoustic band playing all your old favourites.
You sit down with a Guinness and a nice meal, what could be better
This is the best this venue has ever been. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is great the hosts are most amazing peoples people. Great job guys wish the very best for you. Keep up the great work. Will be seeing you on a regular basis.
Sad to say after having been here before I was appalled at the Mothers Day menu today. To be told the normal menu wasn't available only what was on the Mothers Day card at individual prices and not have 1 guest that wasn't displeased with what they received was unsettling. No roast on a Sunday. Mothers Day.in the country.
Best option that was chosen by the vast majority at all tables Lamb Shanks but that too was undercooked and tough. Sadly not 1 of the ladies I took along intends to return again. Those who were due but failed to arrive now believe it was divine intervention.
Absolutely loved this hotel, beautiful beer garden, meals incredible and great, friendly service 10/10
Great service and good value pub food. The owner / waitress who took our order was kind enough to make a milkshake for the kids when it wasn't on the menu. She also let them help which was fun.
Overall, an awesome experience.
Lovley food, good little kids corner, enjoyable place to stop for lunch.
Nice to see real chicken in the nuggets! Kudos.
Poor form to have your signature dish sold out at 7pm for a reserved booking.
1.5 hours wait time for meals.
Staff oblivious to the customers and piles of dirty dishes stacked up on multiple tables.
Received a side at the end of the meal.
Barely anything Irish to the place except a couple of wood placards with Gaelic words on them.
Can’t say I’ll be back.
If I can say two words in this vital era of post-Covid hospitality it would be this: Do Better.
Guinness and service could not be faulted, even though the wrong Parma was served, beaut decor. Hits, Guinness, onion rings and beautifully cooked fresh veg. Misses steak and Guinness pie and the noise from the kids area. Love that we can take the dog to the beer garden and will definitely take the dog and eat outside next time. Some Irish music or any music would have also added to the atmosphere.
