Waltzing Matilda Hotel

Dropped in for lunch on the spur of the moment, been a while since I have eaten here as unfortunately the standard of the food had declined, but I’m happy to report the food was excellent. Now I will be returning more regularly to enjoy a delicious meal.

This is the third time I have been here. Apart from other things, I do not recommend you to go to this hotel. I am here to spend money. I drank two cups and refused to let go. The service attitude is very poor and the toilet is also very dirty and smelly.

Went to bistro with family for birthday dinner. Everyone loved their food, we ordered a large variety, staff were nice, kids enjoyed play area. Highly recommend.

We only went for dinner so can't review anything else. Haven't been for a few years and was in the area so thought we'd give it a try. The gentleman that showed us to our table was very welcoming and polite. Explained thoroughly and was very accommodating. The lady at the bar was so delightful and such a good barmaid. The waitress was very lovely too. The chef was excellent we had the seafood platter, all elements were hot, crunchy and well cooked. Very fresh tasty prawns and mussels. Great flavour. Bf loved it. I had the nasi goreng and it was so filling and tasty. Plenty of chicken and plenty of prawns. We enjoyed our visit here with our son, the playroom is big and fun. Maybe another arcade game or two would fill the space up and a warm bucket of disinfectant to the upper areas of the play equipment but we had a great time. I really wish these young people all the best in their career choices whether they choose hospitality or not, the way they conducted themselves so professionally will carry on through their life. Now who is going to deep clean the playroom!

Went for my birthday dinner, very quiet, but we had a lovely dinner.
Restaurant / bistro very well set out. Tables are a good distance from each other, making dining pleasurable. There is a big fireplace, but it wasn't working tonight. I would imagine a Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be more crowded. They have a great kids' play room.
Seniors meals available.
Our meals came out nice and hot. We couldn't complain about anything. Well worth the visit.
Big carpark with quite a few disabled parks very close to the front door, also a drive-through covered area for dropping off elderly or just to save people getting wet.

An oldie but a goodie. Been here forever. A good pub meal. The beer is cold. And you can play the pokies if you like or just socialise with friends.

Seniors meal for 2.200 gram steak with chips and side salad.excellent 2 deserts great value, pavlova, ice cream with raspberries $2.50.for two total bill $35. Steak cooked to perfection.

ZERO STARS, OF I COULD GIVE IT. RUDE, RUDE, RUDEST FEMALE STAFF I HAVE EVER HEARD. ESPECIALLY IN THE GAMING ROOM WHERE CUSTOMERS SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND PAY HER WAGES. HEY NAME IS JADY! SHE NEEDS TO GO IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR CUSTOMERS AND YOUR STAFF! YOU LOST A LOT OF CUSTOMERS WHO NOW GO TO THE SANDOWN PARK HOTEL BECAUSE OF HER RUDENESS.
She was so RUDE to the customers and especially to the staff and the security guard.
She seriously needs to get a job as a Prison Guard, that's where she belongs.
You need to restructured your staff.
Or you will loose a lot more.
She also told us on our way out that she doesn't care if we report her! You need to get rid of her if you want to keep your staff and customers to be loyal.

Good food but service wasn’t the best had a girl brown hair eye roll me when i went up to ask if the meat was hala.

Travelled at 3 in the morning via Uber to get there just realised the machine I was going to go play (pokie roulette) they had 2 of just a month ago had been removed and not to be returned.very disappointed

We would just like to thank the Waltzing Matilda for an awesome amazing job they all did on putting our engagement party together in the Banksia room on Saturday the 15/10/2022 the service, food and venue was just fantastic. A special HUGE thank you to our bar staff who not only looked after our guest but nothing was an issue and they were so helpful smiling and just made our night even better. So Jaydeen & Elita thank you ever so much ALL our guests said how lovely you both were.
We highly recommend anyone looking for a stress free venue that caters for everything. We had the best night

Great venue for all sorts of occasions. Staff are attentive and caring. Food was well-presented and tasty.

Worst experience I have had at this establishment no menu no staff constant stuff up with food orders cannnot pay at food area had to go to bar to pay.coffee machine broken.not host.no customer attention or care where was Manager a disgrace

Father's Day lunch was amazing! Deliciously prepared for everyone. Staff very attentive, taking good care of our every need. Will be back, thank you for a wonderful lunch!

Food was nice. Ribs were soft, but a bit plain. They forgot our wine, had to go ask for it. Ordered Apple crumble, they ran out. Replaced with other dessert. Sticky date was good, very sweet. Need a coffee with it.

Food wasn't that great, water was yellow and tasted like it was sitting there for years, , service was ok, food was avg for the price u pay but we won't be going back there any time soon, can't believe it is still open

Great location for a pot of beer and chicken parmigiana.has live sports to watch and pokie machine to play too.edit: Ask the waitress for some tomato ketchup sauce and it never came? Oh okay than there was a playground for the kids to play and that's about it

The reason for the 5 star rating is that I've been going here for only 2 months now playing on the pokies where it's nice and quiet with no yelling an screaming in the background. The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic so next time your looking for somewhere to enjoy dinner try this place

Sadly the place has gone down hill.

Ordered lamb mixed grill and a king Parma. They sent out a standard Parma, chips and salad. No coleslaw. No add-ons for the king Parma.

The mixed grill came with the wrong gravy. No tzatziki sauce for a lamb mixed grill? When asked they were all out! Ha. Imagine that. They brought out a "mushroom gravy" that was actually a red wine gravy with 3 mushrooms thrown in it. You could taste the wine in the gravy. It was not a mushroom gravy.

At least they didn't screw up the kids meals.

6-7: 30pm on a Friday and its the quietest I've ever seen it. 7 tables out of the entire restaurant filled. Clearly shows how far this place has declined.
