Volks Affair reviews
67Excellent customer service and expertise and knowledge on all things VW - highly recommend
I took my car in for a service, and also to investigate why the air conditioning was not working. After spending $500 for them to investigate it, the found that they needed to re-gas it. After a couple of days, the gas had leaked out so I took it back. They had my car for a couple of days, and let me know that they couldn't find any issues with it. They charged me just over $500 for this, so at this stage I'd spent $1,000.00 and my air conditioning was still not working.
Wind forward 1 year, I'd had enough of not having the air con, so I took my car to a different mechanic. Within half an hour, he had diagnosed the problem and source of the leak, and quoted me the amount to fix it. Unfortunately, since the air con hadn't been used in a year, the compressor also needed replacing, resulting in an extra $1,000 to have this replaced and installed. On top of this, there is the cost of replacing the damaged hoses that caused the leak and re-gassing the system with is another $500.00. This brings the total amount spent to $2,500.00.
The mechanic let me know that if I had come in last year, when I originally took it to Volks Affair, that I would not have needed to replace the compressor. So overall, Volks Affair ended up costing me $2,000.00 more than I should have paid.
Be very cautious about using Volks Affair, especially when you have a problem that needs fixing. They're great for servicing, but I wouldn't trust them if I actually needed something to be repaired.
Over charged with engine change over it was a straight swap for labour I was charged just under 6k Audi s3 had problems ever since.
Tom at VolksAffair was great to deal with, very friendly and professional, and good value for money.
Great bunch of guys. Brought my car here for the first time. Very thorough and affordable service. Will be back!
I have been a customer at Volks Affair since 1998. I wouldn't trust anyone else to work on my 2 Kombi's. One of my Kombi's is 47 years old and I get VolksAffair to service it before I go on a long outback road trip. Since 2013 I have clocked up 18,000 kms in the outback and haven't had any mechanical trouble at all thanks to Volks Affair. I wouldn't go to any other mechanic. They're trustworthy and reliable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
My experience was so great. The team made me feel at ease immediately after a very stressful and unexpected problem with my car. From the first phone call the team was so friendly and caring, transparent and very reasonable in the pricing and my car was fixed in a matter of hours! Highly recommend!
Great friendly service and expertise.
Took my car in to diagnose an engine issue. The problem was identified in a quick and professional manner. Communication was friendly and fantastic.
Faulty part was ordered, arrived and was replaced very quickly.
This business is trustworthy, provides good information/advice and does a great job.
Greeted jovially and nicely by everyone in the workshop.
I would highly recommend them to anyone for a second opinion or if you are having difficulties with your car. Great business.
Great friendly service. They went above and beyond to explain things to me. Value for money. 10/10
Wonderful family business that serviced and kept my old Golf running for years, then got it RW for me as I passed it down to my nephew. Will be taking my newer BMW to them for its servicing requirements now. Always reasonably priced and they ring to confirm costs before proceeding. Old school service and trustworthy.
Tom and the crew accommodated me ASAP on very short notice, very professional and great quality work, very much appreciated.
Good old fashioned service with a smile. I am a happy past customer and today's experience is why. Drove up without an appointment to get some advice on my car radio. Tom cheerfully came and fixed the problem in seconds.no charge. While I was putting radio trim back in place an older lady/customer approached Tom about a tail light not working. Tom went and got a globe, changed it and waived her on her way. She was very grateful. The business is about people, trust and quality workmanship.all in abundance.
Totally VW. Love the brand and those who drive them. Fast, honest and reasonable with their prices.
These guys are super transparent and trustworthy. They had my Volkswagen feeling like new after a service.
Volks Affair were fabulous. They fixed the problem with our car quickly and efficiently. Communication was great too, which is very important to us. Thanks Tom and the VA Team!
My young son was ripped off and taken advantage of by this business,
Confirmed by two other independent Mechanics (reputable)
I would not recommend them for any work especially without a quote
very dodgy
I have been taking my various cars to volksaffair for more decades than I care to remember. Matt, Ross and co.are incredibly thorough and good at what they do and they charge very reasonably. They also explain things without making you feel like an idiot, which is a bonus for the non-mechanically minded amongst us. Oh and the car is ALWAYS ready at the time they say it will be, which I hugely appreciate. Big thumbs up from me for the volksaffair team.
Extremely friendly staff, great service going above what I had requested and a super quick turnaround time. Their services are very well priced too so I will definitely be sending my car to them again.
A popular, independent VW / Euro car workshop that's been around for ages.
Close to town too which is a bonus.
After telling volksaffair what the issue with the car was and what was required to be fixed, i was baby'd and told that the oil leaks were "from me spilling oil on the engine". I filmed the oil leaks and jacked up the car and saw multiple obvious oil leaks from the sump and rear main seal. They told me to do nothing and clean the oil that i supposidly spilled and charged me $$$. This problem not being resolved caused over 3000 dollars damage (which could have been prevented) and when i got multiple second opinions they agreed with my diagnosis, which i literally pointed out to the lead mechanic at volksaffair Tom, and got it fixed elsewhere from less condecending staff. I have never been more dissapointed with the service from any automotive company and would advice you not to touch them with a stick:) Didnt even hoist my car up to see obvious oil leaks. Enjoy ur $400 oil changes.i mean minor services.
